10x Rewards: Becoming Invincible With My Sign-in System-Chapter 271: Announcement
When Aegon returned to the courtyard, he paused to look at everyone and found it amusing how all of them were influential enough to change the fate of hundreds of thousands of people, yet they were here chilling and relaxing like any other mundane humans.
The Emperor was sleeping. The Dean was annoying his own employee. Liliana was teasing Claire, whom Aegon was also curious about since she brought out a different side of Liliana.
Then there were his friends, one the princess of one of the Main Races, the other three prince and princess of a well-known Kingdom too. More than that, they were the current best of the younger generations of the human domain.
All of them sat on a big hanging couch and played cards while talking all kinds of nonsense. They hadn’t seen each other for a while, which didn’t really affect their friendship, but it did give them a lot to talk about.
Counting Xiu and Arnold, this was the family he had made in this world, and he was proud of it.
’How far I’ve come.’
It was an accomplishment, as he had fulfilled one of the top goals of his previous life: to have a proper family and loving relationships with people he truly cared about.
He truly felt happy about it.
"You look proud," Arthur said, standing beside him and looking at the same scenery but with a different gaze.
"They’re my family, Marshal," Aegon said, turning towards him. "This is why I respect you. I have this family, and I would do anything for them, even if it means committing crimes. I’m not sure I’m willing to forsake millions of lives for them, but I’ll hesitate and maybe even choose my family."
He turned his head and smiled. "This is why I respect you, Marshal. You did what I can’t do."
With that, he moved forward and jumped on a table to get the attention of everyone else. Then he clapped and said, "Stop lazing around, you guys."
That made all eyes turn towards him as even Samuel sat up. Pleased, Aegon was going to say more when Micheal entered the courtyard, still having a warm smile on his face.
Following him was Xiu, who froze upon seeing Arthur there. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she quickly turned her questioning gaze towards Aegon.
Aegon winked at her and said, "I’ll answer your questions later, and you can also do your meet-up after some time. We’ve already wasted a lot of time, so let’s get things done first."
Xiu narrowed her eyes at him, but eventually nodded in understanding and moved to sit beside Liliana. Her gaze still lingered on Arthur, who tried to smile back at her, but his nervousness overwhelmed him.
In the end, he went to sit with Micheal, who patted his shoulder and whispered something in his ear. It eased his expression as he nodded in understanding.
"Guess everyone is ready for the reveal," Aegon smiled sweetly at them and said. "Some of you may already know what I’ve been working on, but I’ll still show it and explain everything. I made it, after all."
He gestured towards Liliana and said, "Of course, none of this would be possible without her, so please give her a round of applause."
Everyone clapped for Liliana, genuinely proud of her achievements. In return, she just curtly smiled at them and said, "I did little in this, so you should save it for the real winner."
They laughed at that.
"Of course, you can clap for her too," Aegon said, grinning and pointing towards Elara. "She promised a date for me, so I worked extra hard to finish this early."
Elara’s face flushed red as the attention shifted towards her. She glared at him, but her small smile of happiness didn’t escape anyone. Her friends even began to tease her for that.
"Want to thank me too?" Samuel asked.
"For what?"
"I encouraged you," Samuel patted his chest and said. "I gave you my silent support and motivated you, so I do deserve some credit." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝔀𝓮𝒃𝙣𝓸𝒗𝒆𝒍.𝙘𝒐𝒎
"You really should learn to be humble, old man," Aegon’s lips twitched.
"Thanks, thanks! I’ll take the credit." Samuel even bowed lightly.
Aegon rolled his eyes and ignored him. Then, he took out a small glass bottle, shaped cylindrically and coloured deep purple. A deep, white mist-like substance floated inside it, carrying a strange presence with it.
"That’s..." Micheal’s eyes widened in surprise. "Impossible!"
"This brat..." Samuel choked on his words. "How?"
Others couldn’t understand their reaction, but their shock was enough to tell them that the substance inside the bottle was very important.
Only Kai was the exception among them. Although he didn’t show it on his face, his eyes seemed to grow distant, as even he had a hard time believing what Aegon had achieved.
Aegon’s friends were thoroughly confused, with Elara being the only one frowning. She sensed something amiss with the white substance, but couldn’t quite figure it out.
But when she tried to pry deeper, her mind seemed to buzz as a dense fog covered her thoughts for a moment, making her forget everything.
She quickly recovered and stared at the bottle warily.
Others experienced similar things as they all wondered what was up with the white substance.
"Oh, I should have warned you first," Aegon facepalmed. "My bad. Don’t try to look too much into this. I’ve used Oblivion Quartz in this, so if you try too hard, it’ll just affect you in return."
"You did well in choosing this," Samuel nodded in approval. "Without it, storage of Soul Essence would grow troublesome."
"Wait! Soul Essence?" Xiu blinked in surprise, and so did her brother.
"Yup! This right here is called the Soul Essence Battery," Aegon announced cheerfully. "Ignore the name. Its function is quite simple. It works the same as Mana Stones, except it stores Soul Essence, the same thing all Soul Cultivators need."
That quelled their curiosity, only to replace it with shock and disbelief. They were ready to face some world-changing invention, but this still took them aback.
Soul Essence Battery.
Aegon had made something no one in history could. Something first of its kind and incredibly valuable.
Something that would push humanity as a whole.
