Invincible Divine Doctor of the Beautiful Lady-Chapter 670 - 650: Definitely Messing Around Outside Again
Chapter 670: Chapter 650: Definitely Messing Around Outside Again
As he descended the stairs, Tangyu couldn’t help but purse his lips, he was so close—his tongue nearly reaching out—and yet, Sister Xin had ruined everything. Oh, what a tragedy it was.
Feeling the breeze, Tangyu finally cooled down a bit and jumped into his car to head home as it was getting rather late. However, as he drove past Shiyi’s house at the Medicine Hall, Tangyu couldn’t resist stopping the car and going inside. It was after nine o’clock and the hall was quite deserted. At this hour, naturally, there were no customers coming to buy medicine. Grandpa Liu was there, deeply engrossed in a medical book until he finally noticed Tangyu approaching. Removing his reading glasses to see more clearly, his face immediately lit up with a warm smile, "Oh, it’s Tangyu! Ha-ha, I didn’t expect you to visit this old man so late at night."
"Ahem, Grandfather Liu, I just happened to pass by and thought I’d drop in. Is Shiyi around?" Tangyu glanced around but did not see Shiyi.
Grandpa Liu’s eyes twinkled, and his smile grew slightly peculiar, "I was just saying you didn’t have such a good heart to visit this old man for no reason. You’re here to see my Shiyi, aren’t you? Ha-ha, there seems to be a generation gap between young people and an old man like me."
"Uh, not really," Tangyu sweated, unsure how to explain himself.
Grandpa Liu waved his hand, "Alright, alright, just joking. Well, that room over there is Shiyi’s. She’s in there, but I’m not sure if she’s asleep already."
"Oh, alright, Grandfather Liu, I’ll go check." Tangyu nodded and then headed towards Shiyi’s room. Watching Tangyu’s retreating figure, Grandpa Liu sighed quietly and shook his head, "Such a pity, such a pity. The only grandson-in-law I approve of, but someone else got there first. Ah, poor Shiyi, I wonder if I will live to see you marry a good man. Tangyu would have been a great choice indeed, such a pity, such a pity."
Reaching Shiyi’s door, Tangyu saw that the light inside was still on. He knocked on the door.
Shiyi’s voice soon came from inside, "Grandpa, what is it?"
"Ah, Shiyi, it’s me," Tangyu said.
A brief silence fell in the room before Shiyi’s voice rang out again, "Tangyu, why is it you? What—what do you need?"
"Oh, nothing special. I just wanted to check on you. Aren’t you going to let me in?" Tangyu asked.
"I’m already in bed, and I’m wearing pajamas—it’s not convenient today. If you don’t need anything, then you should head back," Shiyi said.
Tangyu shook his head, knowing that Shiyi was deliberately avoiding him. She was afraid to face him, or rather, unsure how to face him. Indeed, Tangyu felt that Shiyi’s mind was probably even more unsettled than Shanshan’s. Being a native of Donglin City and from a scholarly family, Shiyi likely placed much importance on these matters.
"I just wanted to talk to you. If you’re not opening the door, then I’ll just stand here and talk," Tangyu said.
In the room, Shiyi covered her face, her mind in turmoil, truly unsure what to do. She hadn’t expected Tangyu to be so proactive, leaving her at a loss for how to respond. She also felt that having not seen Tangyu for three days, he seemed to have changed a lot. Tangyu indeed had changed significantly after his experiences with Huangfu Jing in Capital City. Thus, Tangyu didn’t want to watch women leave him in pain one by one anymore. Anything he could fight for, he would, at least ensuring he had no regrets.
Huangfu Jing at least was still confident about her love, only unable to let go of the burdens she carried.
Whereas both Shanshan and Shiyi were evading, neither facing the issue directly.
Wrapped in her blanket, Shiyi came to open the door, and seeing Tangyu standing there, her face flushed with a quick hint of red before she hurriedly ran back to the bed, looking warily at Tangyu.
Gently closing the door behind him, Tangyu took a seat on the bed while Shiyi scooted into the corner, wrapping herself tightly with the blanket.
"Are you so afraid of me?" Tangyu asked.
Shiyi was startled for a moment. Was she afraid of Tangyu? Clearly not. So why was she avoiding him so much? She didn’t know.
"It’s not that. It’s just—I’m not dressed properly, so I wrapped myself in the blanket. Don’t overthink it," Shiyi said.
"Then why hide in the corner? Are you that scared of me coming closer? Do you think I will eat you up?" Tangyu asked.
"..." Shiyi then moved back a bit, inching closer to Tangyu, realizing she didn’t understand why she had instinctively fled to the corner before.
Seeing Shiyi’s reaction, Tangyu couldn’t help but laugh, finding even this side of Shiyi—nervous and adorable—quite endearing.
Noticing Tangyu laughing so heartily, Shiyi glared at him, "Why are you laughing so much? Is there something on my face?"
Tangyu stopped laughing, looking at Shiyi and said, "Nothing, your face is perfectly clean, of course. I just find this side of you too adorable, like a little girl."
"I am still a little girl, thank you very much," Shiyi retorted.
"Alright, alright, you are a little girl. Anyway, you women always like to act younger. Clearly old enough to be mothers, yet always acting like little maidens," Tangyu said.
Shiyi glared again: "Who can be a mother? I am still a vibrant and youthful girl, still young. Who said anything about being a mother?"
Tangyu couldn’t help but laugh again, "I just said you could be a mother. Do you think you lack the ability to be one?"
"I—" Shiyi was instantly at a loss for words. She was in her twenties, how could she possibly lack the ability to be a mother?
"Alright, alright, just teasing you. By the way, Shiyi, do you still remember how we first met?" Tangyu said.
The first time?
Liu Shiyi was suddenly lost in her memories, how did she first meet Tangyu? Thinking back, she still found their first encounter quite beautiful, and it often made her reminisce.
They sat on the bed chatting for a good half hour before, in the absence of any further topics, Liu Shiyi yawned and said, "It’s getting late, Tangyu, you should be heading back. I’m tired and want to sleep, I have to go to work tomorrow. It’s been really busy these past few days, but I’ve learned a lot."
"Just going back? I still want to talk more with you. How about I stay here with you?" Tangyu said.
Liu Shiyi’s gaze suddenly sharpened, nearly blurting out a harsh ’Get out’.
Tangyu immediately said, "Just kidding, you better get some rest then. See you tomorrow at the hospital, goodnight."
"Goodnight." Liu Shiyi spoke those two words and then buried herself in the blankets, invisible to anyone, her face hidden within brimming with a happy smile.
Upon returning to Princess Apartments, Guo Momo and the other two hadn’t yet gone to bed, sitting in the living room watching TV. It was past ten when he got back and seeing the three still up waiting for him, Tangyu felt somewhat guilty.
"Oh, good brother is back so late again, surely he has been out fooling around with another woman," Zhao Yaya scanned him with her big, gem-like eyes. "Hehe, I guessed right, didn’t I? I’m a genius after all, you can’t hide this kind of thing from me. Look at your face, it’s all red, seems like you’ve been up to no good. Feifei, you really should keep an eye on your man, why ignore the grass at home to eat the wild grass out there. Oof, Momo, why are you covering my mouth? Okay, I’ll stop talking."
Tangyu walked over and sat on the couch, patting Zhao Yaya’s head, neither confirming nor denying her words.
"Why haven’t you gone to bed yet?" Tangyu asked.
"What do you mean why? Of course, we were waiting for you, huh, you’re almost turning into bad brother," Zhao Yaya said.
"We couldn’t sleep either, just right to watch some TV and chat," Guo Momo said, then pulling Zhao Yaya to stand up: "It’s about time for us too, we’re going to bed. You should rest early too." Saying so, she dragged Tangyu upstairs.
As the two of them left, Tangyu also walked over to Lin Feifei, wrapping one arm around her waist, "Sorry I’m late again, you should’ve just gone to bed without waiting for me."
Lin Feifei shook her head with a smile, "It’s okay, I couldn’t sleep so early either. If it was too late, I would’ve gone to bed on my own, it’s only just past ten now."
"Let’s go back to our room," Tangyu said.
Lin Feifei obediently nodded her head.
"Ah, Momo, stop dragging me. Let me watch a little longer, it’s such a shame, I missed the steamy scene." Just as the two were about to head upstairs, Zhao Yaya’s voice came from upstairs.
Tangyu and Lin Feifei just shook their heads speechlessly, this mischievous Zhao Yaya was getting more and more corrupted and naughty.
Back in their room, Tangyu directly pulled Lin Feifei into his arms, and she did not struggle but blissfully snuggled into his embrace.
"Wifey, have you taken a bath?" Tangyu whispered into Lin Feifei’s ear.
Hearing ’wifey,’ Lin Feifei’s heart fluttered, she looked up at Tangyu with sparkling and tender eyes, the smile on her face was so sweet and joyful, touching her deeply. Women naturally love to hear their beloved call them ’wifey’, which is more pleasant to hear than a thousand ’I love you’s.
"I didn’t quite catch what you said," Lin Feifei said with a flushed face, whispering softly.
"Wifey, have you taken a bath?" Tangyu smiled and repeated, feeling a bit cheesy himself.
Lin Feifei nodded her head, "Hubby, I already took one." Her voice was as faint as a mosquito’s, barely audible if not listened to carefully.
"What, wifey, what did you say?" Tangyu mimicked Lin Feifei’s trick.
"Hubby," Lin Feifei quickly said, lowering her head again.
Tangyu kissed Lin Feifei on the cheek and chuckled, "Good wifey, you didn’t take a bath, did you?"
"Ah, oh, no, I didn’t," Lin Feifei said.
"Hehe, then let’s go take a bath together," Tangyu scooped up Lin Feifei, nearly startling her, her arms tightly around Tangyu’s neck, nodding her head, her face now burning hot.
Soon, some discordant sounds came from the bathroom.
