Invincible Divine Doctor of the Beautiful Lady-Chapter 669 - 649 No Need to Say Anything
Chapter 669: Chapter 649 No Need to Say Anything
After work, Shanshan checked her phone, but the call she had been waiting for never came. She looked towards the door, but the figure she hoped to see wasn’t there. Shanshan shook her head with a self-mocking laugh, "What was I thinking? Tangyu is so busy, how could I expect him to come?" She shook her head again, packed up her things, and realized that all her colleagues had left the office. Shanshan left the office, locked the door, and saw that her manager, Sister Xin’s office was also locked.
As Shanshan turned to leave, she suddenly bumped into something, which startled her. She stepped back and glared at the figure in front of her. After taking a closer look, she recognized who it was, "Tangyu, is that you? I almost didn’t recognize you in that outfit." Seeing Tangyu in front of her, Shanshan was momentarily surprised and felt a secret thrill. She had thought that Tangyu’s words this morning were just casual talk, but he hadn’t forgotten; he really did come to wait for her after work.
At that moment, Tangyu was wearing a baseball cap and sunglasses, perfectly disguised. It took Shanshan a while to recognize him by his clothing and overall demeanor.
Tangyu smiled and said, "I had no choice, who knew I’d become so famous? If I didn’t disguise myself, I wouldn’t be able to step out at all. If I didn’t cover up well, I’d probably be surrounded as soon as I walked out of the company, and then there would be countless scandals flying around tomorrow."
"Hehe, who asked you to be a big celebrity now? Are you here waiting for me?" Shanshan chuckled.
"If I’m not waiting for you, who else would I be waiting for?" Tangyu replied.
With a sweet smile, Shanshan bashfully lowered her head, "Then let’s go."
Tangyu had driven Guo Momo’s car, and they got into the car as soon as they left the company, "Where should we go to eat?"
Shanshan thought for a bit and said, "How about we eat at home? I cook for myself every day. I don’t know where it’s good to eat out. Besides, you’re a big celebrity now. Taking you out to eat might be troublesome. I think it’s more comfortable to eat at home."
"Hehe, sure, home sounds good, no one will bother us there," Tangyu nodded.
Hearing "no one will bother us," Shanshan’s face flushed with a hint of shyness; the statement was indeed provocatively suggestive. Shanshan lived with Zhao Xinxin, and Tangyu was familiar with the place as he had visited several times. When they got home, Zhao Xinxin wasn’t there; she had been very busy these days, attending banquets almost every evening.
"Tangyu, sit here and watch TV for a while. I’ll go cook," Shanshan said.
Tangyu replied, "Didn’t we agree that I was going to take you out to dinner? If you cook, wouldn’t it be you treating me instead? How about this, let me cook today. That way, it can still count as me taking you out to dinner. It’s been a few days since I cooked, and I kind of miss it."
"Ah, this—"
"No more hesitations, it’s settled then. You just relax and wait for the feast I’ll prepare for you," Tangyu declared, and then got to work. Shanshan followed him into the kitchen, helping by taking vegetables from the fridge.
"Put those down, I already told you not to bother, let me handle it." Tangyu took the vegetables from Shanshan’s hands and pushed her out of the kitchen.
A smile, long missing, blossomed on Shanshan’s face, radiant like blooming peach blossoms. Shanshan didn’t go to the living room to watch TV but stood at the kitchen door, silently watching Tangyu, her eyes shimmering tenderly.
Tangyu glanced at Shanshan but said nothing, continuing with his work. It was as though they had developed a tacit understanding; Tangyu focused wholeheartedly on his task, preparing a dinner just for the two of them. Meanwhile, Shanshan stood there silently, keeping Tangyu company. The lovers seemed deeply, passionately in tune. This feeling made Shanshan feel very blessed, so she was reluctant to leave the kitchen door. She preferred to simply stand there foolishly, watching Tangyu, watching his serious figure, which was also a form of happiness.
What is happiness?
Perhaps no one can provide a clear definition of happiness, nor dare to define it precisely. But at least for Shanshan at that moment, watching Tangyu was her version of happiness. She no longer harbored grand hopes of ending up with Tangyu; having loved was a form of happiness. Having these moments together was another kind of happiness. Since she couldn’t gain anything in the end, but had these beautiful memories, those too were a form of happiness, worth cherishing.
Love is foolish, love is naive, but she had no regrets.
As she watched, Shanshan suddenly felt an overwhelming urge, more intense than she had ever experienced, which she couldn’t suppress. She rushed into the kitchen and hugged Tangyu tightly from behind, pressing close to him.
Startled by Shanshan’s sudden embrace, Tangyu felt a warmth and softness press against his back, and could even sense two soft, springy things against him, a rather comfortable sensation. Tangyu knew what those were, but refrained from thinking further about it. As their bodies clung together, Tangyu could feel Shanshan’s heartbeat and her deep affection. This moment also touched Tangyu’s heart, making it tenderly melt.
Did he like Shanshan? The answer was quite obvious. Did Shanshan like him? The answer was also quite obvious. Yet, there was an invisible wall between them. It wasn’t that Tangyu didn’t want to break down this wall, but he didn’t want to hurt Shanshan.
"Shanshan—"
"Don’t say anything, don’t ask anything. My heart is so confused right now, I haven’t figured out how to deal with our relationship. Give me some time, and I will understand what I really want, and I will have the courage to face everything. For now, can I just quietly hold you?" Shanshan’s voice was slightly choked up.
Tangyu turned around, pulling Shanshan into his arms, and it was a long while before they separated. Shanshan then covered her face and ran away. Tangyu shook his head with a smile and continued his work.
The dishes at home were few, so Tangyu could only prepare four dishes. It wasn’t a lavish dinner, but it was filled with warmth. Such warmth was exactly what Shanshan longed for, what she hoped could last forever. The hug just now had also faded some of the barriers between them, but they still had not truly taken that step. For Tangyu, taking this step might have been easy, but for Shanshan, it was very difficult.
After finishing their meal, Shanshan helped Tangyu clean up the dishes, and then they sat down on the sofa to watch TV.
"Tangyu, it’s getting late, you should go back," Shanshan said.
"No rush, let me stay with you a little longer. I’ll go back when Xinxin comes home, I can’t bear to leave you alone at home," Tangyu replied.
Shanshan smiled but still shook her head, "It’s okay, Xinxin will definitely be back soon, and besides, I’m used to it. It’s really getting late, you go back first. I was just about to take a bath."
"Oh, that’s fine too, you take your bath, I won’t look," Tangyu said.
Shanshan’s face turned red instantly, and she glared at Tangyu reproachfully.
Realizing her embarrassment, Tangyu stood up, pouting, "Alright then, I’ll go first."
"Yes, let me see you out," Shanshan said.
Soon, they reached the door, and Tangyu turned to look at Shanshan, "Are you sure you don’t want to keep me a little longer?"
Shanshan bit her lip. She did want to keep Tangyu, she even wanted to keep him forever, but she knew she couldn’t do that. The problem still lay with herself; she hadn’t overcome her own barriers yet.
"You better go back," Shanshan said.
"How about a goodbye hug?" Tangyu asked, opening his arms.
Shanshan was stunned, this was the first time she felt such initiative from Tangyu, and she clearly couldn’t refuse. Her heart couldn’t resist either, so she just nodded gently, like a pecking bird. Tangyu smiled and gently pulled Shanshan into his arms, and it felt wonderful. The feeling of holding Shanshan and others like Huangfu Jing, Liu Shiyi, and Lin Feifei were all different. Love is indeed very strange.
Tangyu lowered his head, his face almost touching Shanshan’s. They could now smell each other’s breath. The faint fragrance from Shanshan along with the hot air breathed from her nose was rapidly making something inside Tangyu secrete, giving him a sudden urge. Shanshan seemed to sense Tangyu’s thoughts and wanted to dodge, but she couldn’t manage to escape and could only blush deeply and lower her head, unable to meet Tangyu’s eyes.
At this delicate moment, Tangyu found it hard to extricate himself, and his thoughts were becoming even stronger.
"Shanshan, I want to kiss you," Tangyu said, his breathing getting a bit hurried.
"Ah—" Shanshan’s heart raced; her whole body trembled as if electrified. She had never been so nervous before, feeling like her heart could jump out of her throat. At this moment, she was utterly at a loss, but deep down, she also harbored a desire for it.
Tangyu’s lips slowly moved closer to Shanshan’s. Shanshan felt almost suffocated, nearly about to faint. Her thoughts were becoming blurry, the sensation was incredibly amazing, truly indescribable with words.
Soon, their lips gently met, sending a jolt through them as if struck by electricity; Shanshan’s body went limp in Tangyu’s arms.
Click!
Just then, the door suddenly opened, and Zhao Xinxin walked in. Seeing this scene, Zhao Xinxin was stunned, her eyes wide as she stared at them.
"Ah!" Hearing this sound Shanshan abruptly pushed Tangyu away, instinctively keeping a distance from him, but her face flushed to her ears. Her head was nearly buried in her chest, and if there had been a hole in the ground, Shanshan would have dived right into it.
Tangyu felt a bit disappointed, subtly vexed that Xinxin chose this moment to return. Just when the atmosphere had been so painstakingly built, this scare would probably take days to recover from.
"I guess I came back at a bad time," Zhao Xinxin said.
"Hehe, no, it’s just the right time. Xinxin, I’m leaving now. I’ll visit again later," Tangyu said with a forced smile, then practically ran off.
