Chapter 383: Chapter 383 - The start of the immersion trip

After bringing Dimitri to the Vacarro estate, I quickly teleported back to Hoffen City but this time near the northern most gates where I am set to leave the territory to start my trip to the north. I have paid to have a custom-made vehicle to be built for me for my use on this trip. My agreement with the builder started about three months ago and it was enough time to have it prepared for my departure today. I teleported exactly where I have agreed with the carriage builder to pick the vehicle up.

The one I requested to be built was a covered wagon mostly made of good quality wood, custom-made metal frames and a thick water proof cloth for the roof. I also requested for two sturdy looking horses to be bought to pull my wagon for this trip. This world has only had carriages of different sizes as far as what my travels have shown me. I haven’t seen a wagon or chaise type carriages so far. It seems that the one that I have is the first of its kind here.

The shop that I went to was named "Martin’s Carriages". It’s owner, obviously Martin, was a 43-year old jolly and energetic uncle. He was impressed with the structural plan I have presented to him when I asked for the vehicle to be made. He repeatedly begged me to sell it to him and let him create more of it and sell it to the world. His face was like an artisan that has suddenly found his inspiration or perhaps a new muse. It was not me but the wagon that I wanted, just to be clear.

Being a businesswoman myself, I readily agreed but with conditions, of course. I will let him produce the covered wagons but I will have a measly 10% commission for each wagon that was built and sold. Surprisingly, he readily agreed and since he looked trustworthy and even agreed to have a mana contract made outright, I gave him two more structural plans. One was for a buckboard wagon that can be used by farmers while the other one was a more posh looking version of a carriage which is called a "Coach" which can be used by the rich merchants as well as nobles and royals. In this way, we are targeting all walks of life for our partnership.

The old man was even more delighted with having more structural plans to work with. He was so happy that he started telling me that once his son comes back from his studies from another country, he will have him marry me. That offer was totally out of the blue and definitely not part of the conditions in the mana contract so I dismissed the idea and just laughed it off with the jolly uncle.

After a bit more of chatting, I finally received my wagon. I filled it up with boxes of necessities as well as a map of the north, everything that is needed to make it look like I am going on a long-distance and legitimate trip. I also started coating the wagon with different layers of spells for speed, weightlessness, sound proofing, cooling, camouflage as well as protective ones. I have also made what seems to be a taming contract with my two horses so I can monitor their health as well as communicate with them through my mind. This should make my trip a lot more smoother and hassle-free.

As I left the gates of Hoffen City, I started activating the spells that I placed on the carriage one by one. Once I am in a certain distance from the city, the covered wagon started changing colors as the wood became a deeper shade of brown, the metal looked a bit rusted with some chipped paint here and there. The white cloth covering the wagon started to look older and frayed as a disguise. I also made my horses look a little more emaciated and smaller.

All those steps were done by me to deter bandits. Though they would be quite unlucky if they encountered me on this trip. Everything was just an illusion though for others but the whole wagon still looked new and pristine to me or everyone that can get through my illusions. As for my horses, they still look plump and sprightly in reality. I think though that they are luckiest horses in the whole world since my wagon was weightless so it was like pulling on a balloon for them and they kind of complained about that so I set the weight to about 50% of the original at least..

As per the map I have on hand, the next territory is named Bragen City and is being governed by a count and his family. It is a two hour long trip if a normal horse drawn carriage travels at its usual speed. My carriage is not normal so this does not apply to me.

Since I needed my trip to look legit, instead of making my horses go slower which would definitely earn me a few more complaints from the two, I instead enjoyed the sights at a leisurely pace. I decided to make more detailed maps of the area as well as stop in small prairies that I pass by once in a while to make a compendium of plants and animals. I also harvested any useful plants and hunt small animals for meat and other materials just like any normal adventurer.

The supposed two hour trip lasted for about 3 hours instead since I made sure I look into each and every cranny for alchemy materials and for mapping purposes. It is really fun to wander on your own and discover new places at the same time. It was great that I had an unlimited storage space so I can take as much as I want from the harvests and finds.

I left Hoffen City at around 7am so it should be around 10am now. I first have to make an official visit to the count and then look for a place to park my wagon and a rest place for my horses. Since this is a new city, I will definitely go around the marketplace and go shopping! ƒгeewebnovёl_com
