Cassius blinked twice before redirecting his attention elsewhere. Another 10 Uncommon-tier Platforms levitated toward him, giving him yet another choice to make.

Choosing the only Platform that made the most sense—the Platform with the biggest point number—he jumped over. Then, with the simple click of a button, he was transported to a new Challenge area.

And contrary to what the Idle Evolution System believed, Cassius's luck held strong. He passed the 85th Challenge with minimal effort, then did the same thing with the 86th Challenge, the 87th, the 88th, the 95th, the 130th, the 200th… the 400th, the 1150th… the 2600th…

Finally, after making it somewhere past the 4000th Platform—one of the Legendary Tier—Cassius began experiencing some serious trouble.

SHING! SHING!

*Whoooop—!*

Cassius's worn-down figure zipped through the skies of a world of clouds. He shot through each of the country-sized clouds in rapid succession, destroying any and all civilizations that once existed on them. The cries of bird-like people with wings and beaks echoed, yet the one who gave them such sorrow was hardly able to find time for them.

Right on his trail—further exploding the clouds and decimating the bird people civilizations—was one of those very bird people. Or, rather, it was a bird person from a different Cloud World—the Harpy Deity—an extremely powerful being who had been chasing Cassius since the very moment he landed in Challenge Dimension #4377.

After catching up to Cassius, the Harpy Deity was surprised to find him hovering in place above the ruins of an annihilated Cloud World. The long-haired and heavy-eyed human had his arms folded behind him. He also possessed a deathly bluish-red glare that put the Harpy Deity on edge.

"You know," he began, his voice both hoarse and colder than the tundra, "if there's one thing I don't like about advancing the Platform Path—besides the passing of so many years—then it has to be how the residents of the Challenges started becoming more and more intelligent. What's worse yet is that I genuinely have no idea if any of you are real…"

"Hell, I don't even know if I'm real!" he said, his tone slightly deranged. "I've been at it for how long now? 3 years??"

"3 years…" he continued, his voice sounding more aged. "I began that cursed Quest when I was 18, and now… now I'm 21 years old…"

Even more terrifying was that he had no clue exactly how much longer he'd be in the White Space. Completing Challenge after Challenge… Just how much more would he be able to endure…?

However, for power. For absolute power, he had to keep going.

No matter how many years of his life he'd wind up losing, he had to see his aspirations through to the very end. Giving up halfway was not an option.

"I… I don't even know why I'm talking to you; you can't even understand what I'm saying," Cassius said while slicking his wild black hair back with his own blood. That action unveiled a piercing red glow in his eyes that sent shivers down the Harpy Deity's spine. "You can't understand me… None of you can understand me… In every single Dimension, I talk to myself…"

Dreaming of conversational solace with another being was precisely that—a pipe dream. One that the Idle Evolution System would never permit. That was why it prohibited the use of any Translation Skills and anything else that enabled what the System termed as 'needless attachment.'

When the System first said this to him, Cassius fully understood why it did as such. Getting too attached to the natives of the Dimensions would only bring about trouble. Yet, even if he understood the System's reasons, that didn't make it any less excruciatingly painful when months turned into years.

In all that time, it felt like Cassius had been alone… Alone with only himself and his thoughts…

Occasionally, Raijin or Nyxvoldar would leave the Evospace to join him in one of his Challenges, but again, communication with them wasn't really communication. Furthermore, considering that they were servants, talking to them was like talking to devout followers devoid of opinions.

"In all this time," he said to the silent Harpy Deity, "I've been beaten to a pulp over and over… I died again and again… More than 10 million times I've died… I… I feel like I'm going insane…"

Just because his Mythical Phoenix Bloodline and Godly Nirvana Physique were incapable of advancing while undergoing the Class Change Quest, that didn't mean they couldn't still be used. And taking advantage of that fact, Cassius died time and time again. Moreover, when considering that each day in the White Space reset his Rebirth chances, he could potentially die tens of thousands of times each day.

As for being beaten and battered so as to progress his Trainer Rank, there was no limit to that.

Why would the Idle Evolution System give up a prime opportunity for further Character Development? That would be just plain foolishness.

It was thanks to the System's blatant bias that Cassius's Trainer Rank advanced by leaps and bounds, achieving levels that didn't seem humanly possible.

The Hellish Trainer Rank—a fantastical Rank that even the Sword God himself was unable to achieve prior to his Ascension to the Higher Humanity Floors. It was a Rank that could only be achieved with either thousands of years of being beaten or… the ability to die countless times and experience untold levels of pain and torture right before each death.

However, no matter which method one used, reaching the Hellish Trainer Rank was something only a clinically insane person would attempt to attain…

Yet… If one were crazy enough to do the impossible, then they'd receive a strength boost of absurd proportions.

For Cassius—with his current body and limited existence—the strength boost he received was one that the System converted to a value of over 1 million!

1,000,000+ Stat Points in Strength!

Insanity!

But it was what Cassius justly deserved for what he had to endure to get it…

"Well, whatever," he suddenly said, his demeanor a large contrast to what it was a mere moment ago. "I'm over it all, anyway."

"Now then… You…"

OOOM!
