Infinite Dragon Beast: Taming Ice Dragons with SSS Ranked Talent-Chapter 127: Aiden’s Team as an Escort Team
As agreed, Aiden and his team would arrive at the city fountain location as instructed by Niel —the 17th Mage Group Captain.
They agreed to entrust the escort to Aiden’s team, no matter their status or identity. Aiden initially refused to agree to being in the same group as Allana, but he was slapped by the fact that he didn’t have the time.
Aiden only hoped that Allana would not show the same aggressive attitude as before, so that the group could be peaceful without any breakup.
Aurora and the others were prepared. Before night, the four went to the city to buy new equipment. Aurora and the others got new swords, magic swords that were enhanced using elemental gems. Joe was different, he got new armor because his previous armor was damaged and needed to be repaired.
Aiden waited at the safe house, standing on the house’s balcony looking out over the city. The night atmosphere in Lunor City looked so soothing, coupled with the sparkling starlight that lay on the sky’s surface, adding a special impression to Aiden.
"Aiden," Aurora greeted, coming through the gate of the safe house.
The man looked down and saw Aurora had come. The four came with the new items they had purchased, the black cloaks still attached to their bodies.
"Are you ready?" asked Aurora.
The woman stopped walking, followed by the others. The four stood in the front yard, waiting for Aiden to come over to them.
Aiden sighed, then nodded his assent. He raised his two magic wings and flew from the balcony to stand right before them.
He saw it clearly; Aurora, Amber, and Rachel had gone to buy new swords. Their swords had sharp blades with similar colors to their dominant element. The most unique part of the sword was the elemental gem attached to the hilt.
"Magic swords?" asked Aiden.
"That’s right. They say there aren’t many knights who request a custom sword. Still, that doesn’t mean this ability is lost on the smiths," Amber replied.
"We bought this to enhance our magic abilities, as well as to make efficient use of mana," Amber added.
’Efficiency of mana? Damn! I left my gloves at the Byrone city boutique,’ Aiden explained, remembering that.
Even so, Aiden wasn’t bothered too much about it. His focus was on helping the 17th Mage Group reach the Yixia border. After that, Aiden’s team and Niel’s team had no further matters at all.
"That’s good. That sword will be a great help to you later during our journey," Aiden replied, stepping past them.
"Let’s get going."
"Okay."
Once everything was ready, Aiden and the others left the place. It took fifteen minutes for them to arrive at the fountain location, where Captain Neil was waiting for them.
The path from the safe house to the city fountain had to pass through several small streets that didn’t seem to be filled with people.
Right now, they were focused on the crowds in the city center, especially the food and entertainment district.
Aiden stepped right in front of them, focused on getting to the fountain in the center of the city. After walking for a while, they saw five people waiting at the fountain, one of them was Neil.
When Neil’s eyes looked the other way, they saw Aiden and his team arriving with black robes draped over their bodies. At first glance, their appearance seemed very mysterious.
The members of the 17th mage group immediately asked Neil, Neil said yes. They were an independent team that would escort them to the Yixia border.
"Although they are in charge of escorting us, we must not always rely on them. We must help defend ourselves," Neil replied, obeyed by the rest of his group.
Neil stepped in front of Aiden, reaching out and shaking the man’s hand. Aiden nodded, giving him a handshake in return. He made it clear that Aiden was ready to help them arrive at the Yixia border.
"Please be cooperative, Sir Aiden," Neil explained, and Aiden nodded.
The man before Aiden turned his head, ordering the charioteers to come over. Sure enough, there were two types of horse-drawn carriages approaching the fountain, Neil had deliberately ordered them to make the journey to the Yixia Border easier and faster.
"However, before we arrive at the Yixia Border, we will go to Dourstad for a one-night stopover while picking up one of our friends," Neil replied.
"You don’t have to worry, the route to the Yixia Border can be taken through Dourstad, so we can stay on the main route without having to detour," Neil added.
Aiden was silent in response. The two teams were divided into two, with some getting on the first horse-drawn carriage and others getting on the second. Each horse-drawn carriage was filled with at least two to three members of the escort team.
Aiden and Rachel were in the second carriage. They were assigned to guard three people consisting of two summoners and one priest. Aiden didn’t mind at all.
Once everyone was in, the two horse-drawn carriages left the city for Dourstad. Henry and Rose had actually seen them leave, there was some reason why many of the group guard pamphlets had disappeared the other day, so Aiden could only take on the task of guarding the 17th Mage Group.
"They really left," Henry explained.
"Yes. With Aiden in Allana’s group, I can ensure her safety," Rose replied.
"You seem very interested in that young man named Aiden. Does he remind you of someone?" asked Henry, curious.
Rose only paused not responding, if asked whether Aiden reminded her of someone or not, Rose had to admit that Aiden’s attitude was identical to Henry when he was young. Still, that wasn’t the exact reason.
One of the exact reasons was because Aiden had abilities, which even surpassed Allana’s abilities. Even though the two of them had a difference in age and experience.
"I don’t know. I just find this young man quite interesting," Rose replied.
From their eyes, the two carriages left through the city gates for the city of Dourstad. Now, Aiden had to be careful not to upset Allana. Most importantly, he had to stay on his guard against her.
If conflict broke out, then both sides would not benefit from this at all.
