Chapter 284: Getting Information, Clues Point to Guests of the Palace

"Honored guest," the expert said with a deep bow. Their voice was respectful and cautious.

"Please forgive any offense we may have caused. How may we serve you tonight?"

Arthur’s disguised form looked at them with cold eyes. His voice came out completely different from his normal one.

It was deeper and rougher. "I need information. Take me somewhere private where we can speak freely."

"Of course! Immediately!" The expert gestured quickly toward the interior. "Please follow me, honored guest."

They were led to a private chamber deep within the building. This room was on the lowest level underground.

This room was reserved for only the most important and powerful guests. The walls were reinforced with powerful formations.

The expert closed the door carefully behind them. Privacy formations activated automatically with a hum of energy.

"What information does the honored guest seek?" the expert asked respectfully. They stood with hands clasped.

Arthur spoke directly without wasting words. "I want information about ancient powerhouses who crashed into the Mortal Emperor Realm millennia ago. Two of them specifically."

The expert’s eyes widened visibly. Their expression showed genuine shock and surprise.

Such information was extremely rare and valuable. Very few records existed about events that old.

Thousands of years had passed. And the ones that did exist were closely guarded secrets.

"That type of information..." the expert began carefully. "It’s extremely valuable. Very difficult to obtain."

"Name your price," Arthur said simply. His tone suggested money was no object.

They discussed the cost for several minutes. The expert quoted a number that would bankrupt most sects completely. Fifty million low grade spirit stones worth of resources.

Arthur didn’t even hesitate or try to negotiate. He pulled out valuable treasures from his storage space one by one.

Pills that glowed with spiritual light. Rare materials that were extinct in most regions. Artifacts of incredible power. Each item was worth a fortune by itself.

The expert’s hands trembled slightly as they examined what Arthur offered carefully. This payment was more than fair.

It was actually generous. Worth far more than the quoted price. "I’ll search our deepest archives immediately," they said with excitement.

"Please wait here, honored guest. This may take some time."

The expert bowed again deeply and left the room quickly. Their footsteps faded down the corridor.

Arthur sat down calmly in a comfortable chair. He waited patiently for the results. Time passed slowly. Arthur meditated while waiting.

An hour passed. Then two hours. Arthur remained patient and calm. Finally, after what felt like three hours total, footsteps approached the door again. The expert returned.

---

After what felt like several long hours, the Pavilion expert finally returned. He carried several ancient jade slips carefully in their hands. He expression showed he’d found something significant and important.

"Honored guest," the expert said with clear excitement. "I’ve searched our deepest archives personally. There are records matching your specific request."

Arthur leaned forward slightly in his chair. "Speak. Tell me everything you found."

The expert activated one of the jade slips with spiritual energy. Information flowed into the air as light projections. Glowing text appeared.

"Our records mention two powerful beings crashing into the realm thousands of years ago. The event caused massive spatial disturbances across the entire continent. The sky tore apart that day. Many people witnessed it."

Arthur listened carefully without interrupting. This matched exactly what Cora had told him about their arrival.

"One landed in the Southern Continent," the expert continued reading. "But the records end there abruptly. We have no information about what happened to that being afterward. They disappeared completely from all records."

That made perfect sense. Cora had been severely injured in the crash and went into hiding immediately. She wouldn’t have made any public appearances. She needed time to heal her wounds.

"The other’s trail leads to the Eastern Continent," the expert said. They activated another jade slip. More information appeared.

"Specifically, rumors of a mysterious powerful woman appearing in that region around the same time as the crash."

Arthur’s attention sharpened immediately. "Go on. What else do your records say?"

"The woman appeared suddenly in the Eastern Continent. She was injured but still incredibly powerful. She stayed in the Eastern Continent for some time. Perhaps decades based on various sightings. Then she vanished again during unusual circumstances."

"What circumstances exactly?" Arthur asked. "Be specific."

"The records mention a destroyed sect that specialized in a unique Dao," the expert explained carefully.

"The sect was called the Poison Moon Sect. They cultivated a rare path related to poison techniques and poison manipulation."

"Around the time of the last Martial Emperor Secret Realm opening, the sect master disappeared mysteriously. The sect was later destroyed by unknown powerful forces."

Arthur processed this information carefully in his mind. Poison Moon Sect. That name would be important. He committed it to memory.

"Is there more?" Arthur asked. "Any additional details?"

"Yes, actually," the expert said and activated a third jade slip.

"Immediately after that mysterious woman’s disappearance, a new sect appeared. This sect specialized in dark element techniques and blood techniques."

"But they only accepted women as disciples. Very unusual. Since a few hundred years ago when their ancestor disappeared, they have almost faced extinction."

"Many members died or scattered. Some of them fled to another continent using a powerful space artifact left by their founder."

The expert paused and looked at Arthur directly. "Moreover, we believe they appeared on the Southern Continent based on recent intelligence reports."

"The Emperor of the Hartfield Empire once took certain unknown women into his empire at that time. They became guests of the palace under his protection."

Inside the Serene Palace Painting, Cora was listening to everything through her connection with Arthur.

She reacted strongly to this information. ’That’s definitely my sister’s Dao!’ she thought urgently. ’Dark element and blood techniques. That was her specialty! She must have founded that sect!’

Arthur knew immediately which ladies the expert was referring to.

Lady Ayara and her group. He was pleasantly surprised. Someone who could give a real clue was in the palace all along.

Right under his nose this entire time. He made plans mentally to have a meeting with said person the very next day.

"Is there anything else in your records?" Arthur asked.

"That’s all our records contain about those specific events," the expert replied honestly.

"The information is fragmentary and incomplete. Many details were lost to time. But these are the most reliable sources we have available in our archives."

Arthur stood up from his chair. His movements were smooth and controlled. He produced more treasures from his storage space and handed them over.

Additional payment for the valuable information. The expert accepted with both hands eagerly.

"If I my ask, who are you, honored guest?" the expert asked. They couldn’t contain their curiosity anymore.

"Your power is extraordinary. Your interest in ancient matters suggests deep knowledge and connection. May I know your identity?"

Arthur didn’t answer the question at all. Instead, he activated his spatial techniques immediately.

Space twisted and warped around him. Before the expert could react or say anything else, Arthur vanished completely.

The spatial distortion collapsed inward. He was gone without a trace.

The expert stood alone in the room. His mind went blank.

’The hell was that?!’
