Chapter 320: You’re Late

Miles continued to walk along the path between the bookshelves until he arrived at the center of the Great Library. There, a giant, golden Globe revolved on its own.

Miles quickly headed to the reception area, passing by the giant globe.

"ID?" The woman at the reception desk asked.

"L-163." Miles tapped his foot in impatience.

Ignoring his actions, the woman typed in Miles’s ID and then nodded. "L-163 confirmed. Please state your business."

"I want to set an appointment with the Overseer regarding Mission BIE. This is an urgent matter."

Hearing Miles’s serious tone, the woman looked up from her screen monitor toward him.

"How urgent is it?"

"Code Red."

"... The Overseer is currently at a meeting with the other Overseers, but I’ll ring them up in a while."

Miles nodded. "Thanks."

"You’re welcome. May the fate you find be well."

"May the fate you find be well." Miles stepped aside to make way for the person behind him.

Without waiting for a long time, another Librarian called for him.

"Please head to the Great Study."

Miles nodded.

He followed behind the Librarian as he led him toward the Great Study where the Overseers were supposed to be having a meeting. Once they arrived at the door, the Librarian knocked on it.

The door opened.

Miles didn’t even wait for the Librarian to gesture for him to come in and walked in himself. The entrance was facing opposite the desk, so he was able to immediately see the person sitting on it.

It was a veiled woman.

This was supposed to be the seat of the Overseer of Librarians, but the woman was comfortably seated in it. Meanwhile, the Overseer of Librarians was standing among the other two Overseers.

When they noticed Miles’s presence, all their gazes landed on him, exuding pressure.

’I was too anxious and didn’t consider this...’

His steps seemed to slow down.

"L-163, I heard you have an urgent matter to report?" Lib asked.

Head bowed, Miles replied, "I’m in the middle of my vacation, sir, but I encountered an anomaly..."

Lib stroked the beard on his chin. At the same time, everyone’s eyes briefly darted at the smiling Plotter.

Plotter’s smile widened. "You’re already late, L-163. I’ve already informed them about this anomaly. When your partner, S-4213, used a book page, the black line representing the Bugs suddenly connected to her."

He flicked his hand and a Life Book that was on top of the Great Desk suddenly floated toward Miles. With another flick, the book opened, its pages turning by itself until it stopped at the last page.

The passages on the last page were about their club celebration tonight; however, some of the passages were blotched by dark stains. These dark stains were the signs of Bug Infestation.

Miles stiffened in place. His eyes shifted from the Life Book toward the Overseers.

"H-How did you—"

"Well, I’ve seen it myself."

Suddenly, Miles remembered Yoo Gyeo. It must be because of that person.

However, Plotter immediately erased that thought from his mind.

"I’ve seen it through the Minstrel’s eyes."

"....."

’So, you’re indeed peeking at us the whole time...’

"You don’t need to worry about this matter anymore, L-163," Plotter said. "You can head home now and enjoy the remainder of your vacation."

"May I know what will happen before I leave?"

Plotter’s smile remained on his face, but his big peach-blossom eyes stared at him sharply.

"I... I will go now."

Miles turned around to leave. However, before he could take one step, the Overseer of Binders suddenly spoke.

"Inform the Minstrels to stay put for a while. Don’t leave and go anywhere until further notice."

"I will."

When Miles disappeared from the door of the Great Study, the World Immortal’s attention shifted toward Plotter.

"Since it had come to this, how about we control the situation now, Overseer Siel?"

...

Rayen, Xu Jiji, and Yeo Haru were still at the Flower Garden Agency’s reception desk together with Misty. They were all waiting for any news from Miles.

When Miles headed out of the portal, they immediately approached him.

"What happened?" Rayen asked.

Miles stared at them for a moment before opening his mouth.

"You don’t have to worry. You can go home now and enjoy the remainder of your vacation," he reiterated each of Plotter’s words earlier.

The three Minstrels tilted their head in confusion.

"That’s what the Overseer of Scribes told me."

"Oh..."

"There’s another thing," Miles added. "Stay put."

"Stay put?"

"Yeah." Miles nodded. "Don’t leave and go anywhere until further notice."

"That means..." Rayen trailed off.

"Don’t go to school tomorrow."

...

When Ren’s alarm went off as usual, Rayen sat up groggily on his bed.

Meanwhile, Yeo Haru covered himself with the blanket. "I don’t want to wake up yet, Bro. Please turn off your alarm..."

"You have to go to school."

Yeo Haru shook his head under the blanket. "No..."

"Turn off your beep alarm," Rayen complained.

’Why is this guy even setting an alarm when he’s already awake?’

Ren only briefly glanced at him before ignoring his complaints. Since Rayen had just woken up, he wasn’t able to control his expression and let these thoughts show which Ren easily read.

"It’s for Haru," he explained.

"I don’t want to wake up yet..." Yeo Haru continued to shake his head with half-closed eyes.

Seeing Yeo Haru seemingly back to himself, complaining about waking up and going to school again after experiencing his nightmares, Ren was quite reluctant to continue waking him up. He retracted his hand and turned off the alarm.

Ren turned to Rayen. "If I don’t wake him up, will you wake him up?"

Suddenly, Rayen couldn’t answer. If Ren hadn’t set an alarm, Rayen was sure to wake up even later than Yeo Haru, so it was impossible for him to wake Haru up.

"... Gah." Rayen exhaled, feeling complicated.

Was this guy actually thoughtful?

"But actually, you really don’t need to wake us up." Rayen covered his mouth and yawned. "We don’t need to go to school today. Tell the others to stay put too. We’re not allowed to go out today."

After saying this, Rayen lay back on his bed and found a comfortable posture to go back to sleep. Without Ren’s alarm, it’s peaceful.

Ren stood straight and squinted at him.

Before Rayen fell asleep, he remembered one thing.

He should probably inform Gil and Son Areum about their absence.

Under Ren’s continuous staring, Rayen pulled out his phone, unlocked its screen, and opened Idol:Revive’s app. He forgot to take their contact information, but since Yoo Gyeo would be with them, he could probably just pass the message through Mini Plotter. After all, they’re both Plotter’s incarnations, right?

As soon as the app was launched, Rayen headed toward the chat support to contact Mini Plotter. Ever since this chat support was added, Mini Plotter has become less annoying. Talking to it only through words without seeing it feels much more pleasing to the eyes.

[Rayen: Can you contact Plotter No.4?]

Rayen habitually typed his nickname for Yoo Gyeo. Fortunately, he was able to delete it before he could send it. However, before the words were deleted, Mini Plotter had already sent a reply.

[Propagator: Plotter No.4 (Mini_Plotter_tilt_head.gif)]

’I haven’t even sent it.’

[Rayen: No. I mean Yoo Gyeo.]

[Propagator: So, you mean Incarnation Yoo Gyeo... What’s with the Plotter No.4?]

[Rayen: (Mini_Plotter_profusely_sweating.gif)]

[Propagator: I will send you my physical incarnation’s Entity Account Profile. You can contact all of my physical incarnations’ other incarnations only through this account.]

Reading that, Rayen exhaled a sigh of relief. Thankfully, Mini Plotter did not pursue it. However, after reading it twice, Rayen paused.

So that means if I sent Yoo Gyeo a message, even the original Plotter would see it?

[Propagator: O-001_S***]

Rayen tapped on it hesitantly. However, just as he tapped it, a new prompt appeared.
