I Try To Enjoy My Life But This Woman Keep Calling Me Villain-Chapter 131: Understanding Oneself
I look at the scroll in the young man’s hand and notice that it is my stats. The stats are not the most informative because I don’t know how powerful B-rank is. Interesting talent. A good one for a spy, but I already cast [Scan Stats] and checked his occupation.
He is not a spy or anything like that. His class is [Adventurer: Beginner Swordsman], and he did not have any skill that involved spying on others. He is an above-average fighter. He has a balance in his stats, with the exception of magical stats, but it is to be given as he is a swordsman. Even the magic swordsman in Second Life will always have bigger physical stats while their magical stats get boosted from their equipment.
Some will increase their magical stats rather than their physical stats, but those people will always change their first class into caster when they reach the end game. The reason? They did not do enough damage to contribute much.
While Second Life gives an endless possibility of how you want to play, there is one truth even in the game. Specialization will do more good than Generalisation. Focusing on one part of the stats will do more good than trying to balance them all.
You can choose three types of paths for your stats in Second Life. The first one is Physical DPS, where the player increases their STR, AGI, or DEX stats. STR increases their damage output, AGI is their speed, and DEX is their crit chance.
The second one is Tank, where the player increases their HP, VIT, and RES. HP increases their overall health point. VIT increases its defenses against an attack. RES is a special attack that is also separated into a bunch of paths. This stat shows how the player handles negative effects like [Poison], [Frozen], [Burn], or [Madness].
The third one is Magical DPS, where the player increases their MP, MAG, or WIS. MP increases their overall mana point. MAG increases their spell damage output. WIS decreases the cooldown of their spell and cuts down their casting time.
Of course, you can put some points in other states that are not your class, but most of those points will go to where you choose your class.
Anyway, this man can become a great swordsman if he wants, but at the moment, he is too balanced. Oh, well. I cannot do anything about it because this is real life, and that kind of thinking can only work in a game.
I shake my head and deactivate my concealment and say.
"Oh! You have a good talent there."
I chuckle a little when the two men jump and take a battle stance. I raise my hand and say.
"Relax, I’m here not to fight. I just want to hear the reason why you decide to look at me. I don’t mind if you ask nicely, but you are doing it as if you are a spy."
I release a lot of mana into the air and watch them gasp like a fish out of water.
"You are not a spy, right? Or are you an assassin? I wonder..."
I slowly get close to them. The human young man is the first to snap and quickly kneel before me.
"I’m sorry, my lord! I’m sorry if I offend you! I’m just curious after I feel your mana! It is like seeing the sun!"
Hmmm... Interesting. Is he lying? I did not see any talent or skill that let him do that. Does this sensor come from his talent? I wonder... Oh, well. I will give him the benefit of the doubt for now.
I put away my mana and see them gasping as if they are not breathing for a few seconds.
"I see. I will forgive you for now. However, before I let you go, can you tell me about your talent? I’m curious. You can say that this will be the payment of the slight you have done earlier."
I can see the man hesitate for a second before his friend, the Tiger Beastman, hits him on the shoulder. He takes a deep breath and says.
"Very well."
"Good! Anyway, what is your name? The name is Gwyndolin Alexander Cunningham, the heir of the Cuningham family from the Gipan Kingdom of the Southern Continent."
I decided to go for a formal introduction because I don’t know the tradition of this place. Maybe this place is overly formal or something, but by the look of their face, it was not the case.
"Errr... My name is Quenty, the son of Gertan, my lord."
"Jul-Tan, the son of Bir-Tul. Greetings."
I nod and say.
"Good! Let’s get inside the guild, okay? We will have a talk there."
The three of us walk back to the guild, and I can see the two of them look confused and afraid. I guess I’m going overboard, huh? Damn. I know that I did not need to release that much mana at once. Oh well. I cannot turn the porridge back into rice.
When I open the door to the adventurer guild, I can see people looking at me in fear. Some of them even soiled themselves. Holy shit. Are my actions really that bad? I really start to regret it now.
"Young master!"
"My lord!"
"Gwyn!"
"Dear!"
"Father!"
Ah. Before I could enter the building, my companion ran toward me. Jonathan and Jullian already take out their weapons and point them at Jul-Tan and Quentyn.
"My lord! Let us kill them!"
"Yes! You did not need to get your hands dirty! Let me take care of this trash, young master!"
"Woah! Woah! Woah!"
I decide to stop them before it goes too south.
"There will be no fight in here. It was just a misunderstanding, and Quentyn already apologized for his mistake, right?"
I look at Quentyn, who quickly bows his head and says.
"Yes! I’m sorry for what I’ve done, and I promise not to do it again without permission."
I nod and give a smile to Jonathan and Jullian.
"See? Please put your weapon away. We are here not to cause any trouble."
Jullian and Jonathan slowly put away their weapons but glared at Quentyn and Jul-Tan. We walk to the receptionist, and I say.
"Can I borrow a table or two? I need it to have some talk."
"... Can I ask what Quentyn has done to you?"
I look at her and see her look at me right in the eyes with a fire that is ready to burn me. Oh! I know that fire. It was the same fire my mother had when Rachel got bullied by some merchant’s son. The motherly fire.
"He decided to use his talent on me."
"Ah. I see."
She glares at Quentyn, who looks away in shame.
"I apologize for his behavior. It looks like I need to educate him more."
"Don’t worry about it. Anyway, can we use that table over there?"
"Of course. You can use them."
"Thank you."
I walk to the table and let Quentyn sit on the opposite side of me, with Jul-Tan standing behind him while my companion stands behind me. I can only sigh at their behavior and decide to ignore them.
"Anyway, let’s get to the business. I have several questions about your talent."
"I see. It is not a great talent, but please ask away."
"Great! First thing first, can you tell me what those words mean? STR, END, and MAG."
"Ah, that is easy. STR shows how powerful you are. The higher the ranking, the stronger they are. END is how durable your body is. That is easy to understand. AGI is your speed and reflex, another easy explanation. MAG is how big your mana is and how knowledgeable you are in magic."
"And how do you know the difference between the two? What if someone knew a lot of magic spells but did not have mana inside their body?"
"Then the MAG stats will not register it. It is mostly counting the mana rather than the knowledge, but the knowledge will also affect your stats."
I nod and continue.
"I see. Also, what is the limit of this? Is SSS the highest?"
"Yes. SSS should be the highest."
"What if someone has a higher MAG than me? Will it still show SSS?"
"Sadly, yes."
That is rather worrying.
"Lastly, can I see your stats? And can you use your talent for my companion?"
"Errr... Are you sure?"
I look at my companion, and they quickly answer my question.
"If you ask me, I will obey it, young master."
"The same with me, my lord. Even when he is the one casting his talent, as long as you order or ask me, I will do it."
"I don’t mind, Father."
"Sure, Gwyn!"
"Of course, dear. I’m also curious."
I look back at Quentyn and say.
"There you have it."
"Very well."
I can see Quentyn take a deep breath, and suddenly six scrolls appear out of thin air and fall on the table.
