I reincarnated as an elf .......and married the yandere villainess.-Chapter 62:Start of wedding.
Guests filled the ceremonial hall each more different from the other. Above them, the moon covered the sun not fully but it was covering it enough to create a sort of shadow.
The world tree hang over the glass roof of the ceremonial hall and its roots pass under the floors providing Aether in small quantities.
It also acted as a sort of witness to all the ceremonies that were held in the ceremonial hall.
Atheline smiled and greeted each guest who entered the hall.
High elves wearing their ridiculously expensive clothes. Dark elves were in dark intricate clothing. Humans in a mixture of colours, kings from all three human kingdoms.
Wood elves came dressed in light green robes presenting themselves with kind and welcoming smiles plastered on their faces.
The beastkin bulldozed their massive bodies with a small part of their feature exposed to represent which beast they were.
Atheline felt like screaming with all the nodding and smiling he had given each time they approached him.
He let out a heavy sigh when all the guests had settled down.
"She should be coming soon," his brother whispered to him.
Atheline nodded his gaze at the door.
At that moment, the bell tolled ringing through the whole capital and the ceremonial hall. It sank into every noble and guest present.
This was a wedding yes, but no one dared mistake it for a joyful one from the guests’ perspectives.
Everyone knew of her reputation and the pity directed to the groom was enough to drown Atheline.
Petals fell from above drifting in the air like snow. Atheline was tempted to release his wind just to prevent them from falling.
He wanted them to fall on her.
The petals were enchanted flowers summoned from the temple grooves, meant to symbolise unity and eternal union.
At the end of it all stood Atheline.
He was dressed in ceremonial white and golden, each thread embroidered into the fabric had been soaked in the aether wells and enchanted with ancient spells that represented protection and unity.
His posture was perfect but his trembling hands behind his back betrayed him.
Atheline was both scared and excited for what was to come.
This was a decision he was to live with for eternity and he just couldn’t stay still despite the confidence he had shown before.
Whispers rippled through the guests each trying to portray their thoughts before she arrived.
"Does he truly intend to go through with this," a female elf whispered to her friend, disappointment in her eyes as she studied Atheline.
He was the most anticipated marriage candidate and now he slipped away just like that.
"They say that he proposed himself, " another whispered, disbelief evident.
"No... only a lunatic would propose to her." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶
At that moment everything went quiet. Even the falling petals seemed to freeze for a second then they continued their downward trend.
The world fell quiet as she arrived.
Every eye turned towards the ceremonial hall entrance.
There she was standing like she owned the air itself. She garnered attention without asking.
Her dress was not the traditional white that the high elves loved to wear or the royal blue that the dark elves loved.
It was black.
Threads of purple, matching Athena’s eyes, shimmered through the dress as the ceremonial spell moved through the lines.
The dress seemed to be made for her. It clung to her body and only seemed to release its hold the moment it got past her knees and trailing behind her.
Atheline swallowed.
The sheer veil cascading over her face revealed the faint curve of her lips.
She was smiling, a smile Atheline was fully familiar with. It carried her possessiveness towards him laid bare for the world to witness.
Each step she took echoed through the hall louder than the bell. The petals were crushed beneath her as she moved forward towards him, who was patiently waiting for her.
Atheline extended his hand towards her the moment she got near him. She took it her smile widening.
The moment she was fully standing next to him, she didn’t hesitate. She lifted the veil herself.
Atheline was too mesmerised to do anything.
Her eyes, God’s.
They locked onto him with hunger so raw and consuming that Atheline felt like his soul was being bound, drowned and he was the one helping her with the tying.
"We’re finally here, tied together forever and ever under the Gods," she said loud enough for everyone to hear without caring for etiquette.
His gaze met hers before a smile formed.
"I’m glad."
Something in her expression cracked. Something he had only glimpsed once in a while when she needed his reassurance but this was far more intense.
Joy.
Pure and unfiltered terrifying joy.
Her hand tightened around his as though trying to confirm if he was real.
Atheline squeezed it back, reassuring her.
The officiant, an older priest cleared his throat. He looked pale and visibly shaken but no one had time to care about his emotions.
He took the ritual book and held it before him, it was trembling slightly but he somehow managed to hold it.
"We gather here today to witness the binding..."
"Skip it," she cut through his speech.
Every head snapped towards her but Lilith couldn’t care less. Her gaze was on Atheline and Atheline alone.
"I’ve waited long enough."
A flicker of dark amusement crossed her lips.
"Unless, " she tilted her head slightly, " you want a longer version."
A small pout only visible to Atheline formed. Atheline exhaled slowly.
He had barely managed to conceal his surprise.
’The speech wasn’t that long to begin with’
"No," Atheline answered calmly, " ... I don’t. "
She smiled.
"Good."
She turned her gaze to the officiant who swallowed and nodded.
Luck seemed to be against him at that moment since the book tilted almost falling.
Atheline caught it before it could fall and placed it back on his hand.
The officiant nodded in thanks. No one noticed this except Atheline and Lilith.
