I Received System to Become Dragonborn-Chapter 940: In The Dungeon
Chapter 940: In The Dungeon
The moment the tremors began, Erend and Eccar didn’t even speak. Their gazes locked for the briefest second, then instinct took over because they already knew what they must do.
Magic erupted like a detonation in the middle of the desert.
A surge of white-blue light burst outward from Erend’s body as spirals of water crashed around him and violently flinging sand in all directions.
The temperature around him dropped sharply. The blistering heat immediately replaced by a cool oppressive moisture. Steam hissed against the hot sand as the ground cracked beneath the pressure of transformation.
In the next heartbeat, the full form of the Water Dragon stood tall. His sleek, scale-armored body shimmering like liquid crystal under the desert sun. His eyes gleamed with blue clarity. His claws etched with glowing blue veins and his wings folded like waves of water that keep moving like they were still in the river.
Beside him, a quake thundered.
Black and golden light poured from Eccar, rippling out like a shockwave through the desert.
The sand also spread out beneath his feet, solidifying into jagged platforms of rock immediately that burst upward like the land itself was answering his power even when they he haven’t called them.
A towering figure emerged from the brilliance. The Earth Dragon covered in obsidian-like scales laced with glowing seams of molten gold, Eccar radiated pressure.
His feet cracked the ground with every step and his tail dragged a trench of shattered stone behind him.
They stood side by side in ten meters tall. The Dragonborn no longer in name only.
The desert roared in response around them immediately.
The first wave came in a chaotic charge of the giant monsters.
Giant scorpions with gleaming stingers the size of spears kicking up sandstorms with every lunge. Behind them huge sandworms tore through the sands, their mouths wide open with rings of teeth spinning like drills.
Towering above even those creatures were the stone golems that shaped like crude warriors carved by the desert wind. Each of the golems lumbered forward with slow and earth-shaking steps, their eyes glowing with red heat full of malice.
Erend’s mouth opened and from within his Dragon maw surged a torrent of pressure and the force of wateer. A beam of fast, razor-sharp, and cold compressed water fired directly into the heart of the nearest sandworm.
SWOOOSH!
The creature screeched as its hide tore open. Steam billowing from its exposed insides as the cold water clashed violently with desert heat.
The worm crashed sideways into a scorpion then crushing them both under its bulk.
Eccar was also already moving. The earth beneath him rose like a ramp and launching him into a leaping strike. He came down on top of a golem. His claws glowing with Magic energy, and he drove them straight through the stone creature’s chest.
Rock exploded outward from the force and a shockwave rippled through the sand for meters. The pieces of the golem rained down like debris from a demolished wall.
The giant scorpions swarmed Erend from multiple sides, but he moved like a river current despite his size. His tail snapped outward with a hiss and cutting three of them in half in one move.
Their bodies flinging end over end before crashing into dunes.
A dozen of them tried to stab his scaled hide. But his shimmering water barrier activated and every attack passed through a layer of dense water pressure that deflected them immediately.
Then with a roar, he summoned a spiraling geyser from beneath one of them and launching it screaming into the sky before it exploded mid-air into chunks.
Eccar landed on the snd and raised both of his claws. The terrain beneath three incoming golems erupted. Jagged spears of stone impaling them from below in the blink of an eye.
Then, with a deep Dragon scream, he stomped down and the earth fractured outward in a massive shockwave, knocking dozens of enemies flying in all directions like pebbles thrown into the wind.
"Don’t hold back!" Erend roared through their mental link.
Eccar grinned. "I wasn’t planning to hold back."
All around them, the enemies kept coming But so did their kills, in fact it made their time easier. Essence or Exp flowed into them, swirling through their bodies.
Their Dragon forms burned brighter with every breath and their eyes only grew sharper.
They kept going.
Time blurred in the desert heat, if it was even passing at all. Hours felt meaningless here. In the Dungeon World, there was no sun to track and no day or night. But it didn’t matter. The only things that moved were Erend and Eccar’s bodies and the endless horde of monsters they killing.
The ground was littered with the remains of crushed scorpions, burst sandworms, and shattered golems. Broken stone limbs, pools of black ichor, and cracked exoskeletons were scattered like wreckage in a warzone. Bur more of them kept coming and that’s good.
Erend’s body gleamed brighter now, the once pale blue of his scales deepening into a glowing sheen. The pressure around him thickened.
And then he feels a surge.
He paused for a moment between battles, feeling the essence coil deep within his chest, like something shifting upward through his very soul. And then
[You Leveled up: Level 356!]
The Dungeon responded with another screeching roar of wind. Even stronger enemies began to pour in as if the world recognized that it had to push harder. ƒrēenovelkiss.com
Erend didn’t flinch. He only lifted his claws and roared again, surging into the next wave with no hesitation.
Eccar felt the change as well. His body crackled with raw earth energy, the molten lines across his body widening as more power channeled through him.
His movements became heavier but more devastating.
The monsters then start to change. No longer just ground-dwellers now there are flying monsters.
High above, shrieking howls pierced the air and winged shadows began to emerge. Giant vultures with wingspans wider than a house swooped in formation. Their feathers shimmered with a strange metallic texture and their eyes glowed yellow with wild hunger.
"Huh, this is new," Eccar growled, stomping a leaping vulture out of the air.
Erend shooting a jet of pressured water that pierced one straight through the wings, sending it spiraling into the sand below where it exploded in a watery crater.
But then... the sky itself start to change as well!
The winds picked up in unnatural currents.
Erend’s body tensed as his instincts rang louder than before.
The sky darkened all at once, as though a veil had dropped.
The burning sun above was swallowed by swirling shadows. Thunder cracked. Lightning sparked in forked flashes. It stayed suspended in the sky and they were rotating.
Above them, the clouds coiled together into a thick and swirling vortex pulsing with dark energy. Lightning danced along the spinning mass like a serpent, forming a spiraling storm in the center of the sky.
