Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Struggling

"I thought you were better than this, Wraith. You fight like a young man who never experienced downfall before.

What are you actually, eh? What is hidden under that white layer..."

And gunshot roars. A bullet flies over and hits Anderson right in the face.

Sebastian takes a liberty shot at him. But only a scratch is left on the armor.

Anderson looks over at Sebastian.

"Don’t waste your bullets. This armor is made of pure Thonorite. Even with your power, you can’t penetrate it."

Sebastian loads up his revolver, seeming to have no concern at all.

"If one bullet isn’t enough, then ten. If not ten, then a hundred."

Anderson smirks under his visor, pointing his black gun at Sebastian.

The gun screeches and lets out a spiral shockwave. Sebastian jumps down from the scaffolding. The entire platform is crushed into pieces.

He quickly finds cover and removes himself from Anderson’s line of sight.

"You know my power is Heat Vision, right? You can’t hide from me."

Anderson shoots again, piercing through the cement pole Sebastian is hiding behind.

Sebastian is quick, he can feel the danger and duck out of the way. The shockwave drills through the pole, leaving a spiral-shaped hole.

His reaction is so inhuman that Anderson thinks that Sebastian may have some foresight power.

Lightning bolts explode at Blaze’s position, pushing out all the debris and metal. He walks out unharmed, only a bit of ache inside his body.

The gun interrupts his breathing, causing the aura to be paused midway.

"Oh? The notorious Wraith is recovered. You think you’ve got what it takes to kill me, boy?"

Anderson deliberately provokes Blaze.

This is the first time Blaze is stopped in his tracks. The System has given him so much power that he has never experienced failure before.

Blaze doesn’t catch the bait and loses his cool. Instead, he activates the Hidden Power Darkness inside the Karambit.

A sphere of darkness envelops Blaze and also Anderson, leaving only Sebastian out of its effective radius.

Anderson laughs out loud.

"Are you crazy, boy? I don’t need light to see you! This is pointless!"

Anderson’s eyes light up in orange. The scene becomes as bright and detailed as day. He can even see Blaze’s figure outlined in the dark.

Then Blaze activates the third power of the Shadow Tattered Cloak, Shadow Shroud. He wants to test if his illusions are able to trick the Heat Vision.

Three lifelike illusions of Blaze appear that look exactly like him. They all scatter with insane speed, yellow auras cover their bodies.

The three shadow figures run at Anderson.

Anderson sees the illusions up close and instinctively raises his gun to shoot at them. The shockwave breaks through the illusion, disintegrating them in one shot.

"What is this? Illusion? They don’t exude any heat at all. Hah! You can’t fool me!"

To Blaze’s disappointment, the illusions have no effect toward Anderson’s power.

The Sergeant then points his gun at Blaze. He shoots the Grappling Hook to move away without using Lightning Ascension.

Electricity inside his lungs was mostly used. He needs time to fill it up or eats his own lightning.

Blaze starts to breathe quickly, electricity starts agitating inside his lungs. Lightning Stream goes into overdrive, producing electricity several times more than the normal rate.

"Why are you so slow, Wraith? What’s happening? Did that speed of yours give out already?"

Anderson arches his upper body forward, boosters behind his back and his feet light up, propelling the man forward at an insane speed.

This speed is not lower than Blaze’s max speed.

Anderson becomes a blur, approaching Blaze. His metal arm clenches into a fist. Inside the arm brace of his armor, another Crisis Core spins aggressively.

A pink energy field exudes from his fist, slamming at Blaze.

He feels like he is hit by a truck. No, even more powerful because a truck can barely have this power.

Blaze feels his chest cave in, and the enormous force sends him backward, slamming onto the metal racks.

Anderson laughs hysterically.

"How does that taste, bitch? This is another A-rank Crisis Core. Powerful, eh?"

Blaze gets up quickly and uses his long-forgotten power, One with Shadow. Its name is now Shadow Phantom after the upgrade.

Blaze’s figure disappears from Anderson’s vision, no heat can be located anywhere around him.

Anderson is arrogant in winning, but this turn of events causes him to be serious again. He shuts his mouth and scans the environment carefully, ready for any surprise attack.

Blaze moves to another safe spot while still fused with darkness. Blood pours out of his nostrils profusely, and his chest is in extreme pain.

Blaze takes out the Blood Potion and gulps it down. The last one-third of the bottle and it disappears right after.

Damn it! I was too careless.

Blaze was unstoppable up until now. But he has finally met his match. Another man that is as strong as him and has an equal amount of toys.

This causes Blaze to reevaluate the power of the Iron Knight. Only one of his armor is like this, who knows how strong the actual man really is.

His wound heals quickly, and Blaze is ready to attack again.

This time he needs a plan.

Anderson has Heat Vision, which can locate Blaze easily. The guy may have other powers as well, this has to be considered.

The only power that can nullify his Heat Vision is Shadow Phantom. Blaze can easily ambush Anderson and then give him a taste of Thunderbolt.

The only problem is that armor is no slower than Blaze when he is in Lightning Ascension mode. A state that he can’t maintain for too long.

Anderson will be able to dodge the Thunderbolt. The darkness won’t help either, as the lightning bolts exude extreme heat.

Why fight alone when you can have help?

Isaac, communicate with Hutton. I need him to buy me time.

Anderson may be quick, but that can be neutralized easily with Hutton’s Temporal Energy Manipulation.

The raven takes the order and flies toward Hutton immediately.

Hutton was tasked with guarding the premises, making sure no one could escape. But every other cop is dead now.

"Hutton, you are up!"

The four-wings man jerks his head up, his eyes are gleaming with determination.

From the ceiling, Hutton comes crashing down in front of Anderson.

The outline of Hutton puzzles Anderson a little bit. A tall, muscular man with four wings attached to his back. It seems otherworldly somehow.

Anderson does not speak, the boosters propel him forward, and he once again uses the power of his braces to deliver a devastating punch at Hutton.

Hutton raises his left hand. White energy covers the space, slowing Anderson down to an average human-level speed.

This also affected his cognitive speed, making him think slow like a sloth.

From Anderson’s point of view, Hutton raises his hand, and suddenly he becomes extremely fast. Faster than even his Speedster level of fast.

Hutton’s right arm stretches out, and three steel claws burst out of his hand. The power of the fusion Steel Manipulation (B-rank).

Hutton moves quicker than Anderson can comprehend. He dodges Anderson’s fist and counters it with the claws, aiming straight at the holes on his visor.

"Detecting energy field manipulation...

Analyzing target potential power...

Countermeasure is ready!"

Suddenly, the diamond on his chest shoots out another field of energy. A transparent white energy that is very identical to Hutton’s temporal energy but is slightly different.

This energy field nullifies the slowness and makes Anderson snap out of it.

His armor gains back his speed, and Anderson redirects his punch at Hutton’s claws.

The two collide with each other. The enormous force of the pink sphere crushes the steel claws and pushes Hutton back a few meters.

The pink sphere is powered by an A-rank Core, while Hutton’s claws are only a B-rank power. One is outranked by the other.

Hutton lets out a low growl. He is hurt, and the energy breaks the bone of his knuckles.

"That was close. Time manipulation power, eh? Unlucky for you, that is not enough."

The diamond itself is also a special Core, it is even rarer than an A-rank Core. Combined with the A-rank Core in his brace and the A-rank Core in his gun, this armor is made by three different A-rank power sources.

Hutton retrieves his temporal energy and only lets it cover his body. Anderson is able to counteract this power and won’t be slowed down. But Hutton can still speed up his own pace.

Anderson and Hutton disappear in a breeze. Their figures become a blur in the darkness.

Hutton creates a giant axe with his hand this time, chopping it down at Anderson. He is bigger than Anderson, so he has the leverage advantage.

Anderson slaps the axe away easily and counterattacks with his force punch.

Hutton is sent away again. Anderson connects his punch by drawing out his black gun.

The blue Core spins intensely, fueling the gun with all of its power. The spiraling shockwave screams at Hutton.

He moves out of the way, avoiding it just in time.

And then the two get close and continue to exchange blows. Each blow elevates Anderson’s advantage even more. Each blow leaves a wound on Hutton’s body.
