I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 96: Chaos Bomb
"Destroy the diamond on his chest! That’s the power source of the armor!"
Sebastian screams out.
He can’t see through the darkness, only glimpses of the collision between Hutton and Anderson.
Inside the sphere, Hutton hears the word. He redirects his axe toward the diamond.
But a wave of energy shoots out from the diamond, sending him flying away again.
Hutton flaps his wings, countering the enormous force of the diamond, and balances himself in the air.
His four wings let him fly in the air, circling around Anderson’s position.
Anderson draws his gun and shoots at Hutton. Spiral waves screech through the air, drilling holes in the ceiling.
Debris is falling down piece by piece.
By using Temporal Energy Manipulation, Hutton dashes quickly in the air, just barely able to avoid the shock waves.
The energy of the diamond burns his skin, leaving white flames dancing on his muscular body.
"The Core is the power source of my armor. But you are too naive to think you can attack it easily.
It is a Calamity’s Core, you dumb fuck! It’s the most dangerous weapon on my armor."
Calamity, monster of the Void that is one rank higher than the commonly known Crisis.
Calamity and Crisis can have the same power level. But a Calamity is several times more powerful and dangerous than a Crisis.
This also applies to its Core.
An A-rank Calamity Core cannot be compared with an A-rank Crisis Core. The Calamity wins every time.
Hutton floats in the air. Temporal energy covers his palm, and he slaps them together.
A shockwave spreads out from the point of contact. Even the sphere of darkness is slightly dissipating due to this energy.
A tiny ball of white energy materializes between Hutton’s palms. It sucks all the air around to create a chaotic field of temporal energy.
Hutton’s fusion power can slow enemies down and speed himself up. But that is not the only way of using it.
By combining Hugo’s pure brainpower and Anton’s out-of-the-box thinking, they create a new attack from their power.
"Chaos Bomb!"
By merging both negative and positive temporal energy, Hutton can create a ball of chaotic force.
This force effect is unknown to him. He doesn’t know if it will slow down, speed up, or do whatever to the enemy. But the ball is extremely unstable, ready to explode any time.
Hutton hurls the ball toward Anderson.
It starts slow, extremely slow. Even Anderson wants to mock it.
But then, it skips through the air like teleporting and appears right in front of Anderson.
He has no time to react. The diamond in front of his chest burst out a clear white laser to shoot at the tiny white ball.
The laser is split in half, damaging the surrounding warehouse.
At that moment, Blaze attacks.
Hutton has bought enough time and draws Anderson’s attention for Blaze to do his things.
On one hand, Blaze holds the Destruction Wand. Electricity surrounding the wand has turned into purple and is ready to be blown any time. On the other hand, a solid spear made out of a pure yellow lightning bolt.
Blaze releases the purple lightning first. It bolts in the air, splitting any gas molecules in its path.
Anderson opens his eyes wide. He can’t move.
If he moves, the laser will lose its focus, and the temporal ball will have nothing to stop it. Anderson isn’t sure if he can get out in time.
Anderson raises his arm. The pink Core inside his brace spins intensely.
A large transparent wall of pink energy materializes at his side. The purple lightning strikes it and immediately cracks the wall.
Anderson has seconds to decide what he needs to do.
Thunder Force is A-rank, and the pink Core is also A-rank. But this purple lightning is the concentration power of Thunder Force. No mere A-rank power can stop it.
Thunder roars inside the warehouse. The darkness gets swept away, revealing the scene inside.
Sebastian witnesses Anderson in the middle of the crossfire. He wastes no time to slam some bullets into Anderson also.
Sebastian aims at the pink wall, not the Calamity’s Core. He knows too well that his bullets won’t be enough to hurt Anderson.
But he can break through his defense for the Wraith to finish the job.
"Fuck!"
Anderson retreats. The boosters on his armor propel him backward with full power.
The pink wall shatters like glass. The purple lightning shoots forward.
The tiny ball of temporal energy also shoots forward, meeting the purple lightning. They collide, and from the point of contact, a pure white color fills the entire warehouse with Anderson extremely close to it.
Hutton flies down at Sebastian, using his big body to shield the man from the explosion.
From the diamond on Anderson’s chest, a crystallized wall is created. It covers him whole.
And then the deafening sound of explosion fills the place.
Sebastian gets shocked purely by the noise and almost passes out. Hutton pushes him to the ground and covers him on top.
The entire warehouse is disintegrated in a matter of seconds, turning everything into debris.
Anderson gets sent flying. The pure force of the explosion has him travel a few hundred meters.
The crystallized wall breaks. The outer layer of his armor is destroyed.
Anderson lands on the street outside, rolling a dozen times before stopping.
But the grim reaper follows him. He can hear the thunderous noise of a lightning bolt.
"Fuckkkkkk!"
Anderson tries to get up and escape, but before he can do so, Blaze has already appeared.
He dashes through the landscape at an insane speed, a yellow aura envelops him, and lightning bolts trace his path.
Blaze steps on Anderson’s chest, slamming him right down on the ground.
With the Thunder Spear in his hand, Blaze slams it onto the Calamity’s Core on Anderson’s chest.
The Core is still not giving up. It exudes power to protect its master. A crystallized wall is materialized, stopping the Thunder Spear.
"No! Wait! I can help you! What do you want to know? How much money do you need?"
"Shut up and die!"
Blaze pushes the Thunder Spear down even more. The crystallized wall cracks. The tip of the spear pierces through the Calamity’s Core.
Its electricity power spreads all over the armor, breaking the last pieces of the armor.
"Arrghhh!"
Anderson screams in pain. He grabs his gun and points it toward Blaze.
Blaze slaps his guns away and pushes the Thunder Spear down even more. The spear cut through the Calamity’s Core, and then a large pole of lightning extended from the spear.
The back of the spear shoots a lightning bolt upward. A lightning bolt is drawn toward the sky.
The tip of the spear shoots down another lightning bolt, penetrating Anderson’s chest and drilling a deep hole underground.
Anderson’s body gets split into four. His armor breaks apart.
[You have gained 250 experience points!]
Anderson’s head rolls on the ground. His eyes open wide, leaving behind the last shocking emotion in his gaze.
To the end, he still didn’t believe that he was getting killed.
