I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 91: Back from the dead
The cop that was struck by the lightning is now a crispy black piece of meat. His tactical armor didn’t even do much in front of the red lightning, all of its layers got broken in under a second, and its built-in energy dissipation was completely wrecked.
The other cop crawls away, his legs too shaken to even stand.
Arms burst out from around him and hold him in place.
Blaze drops down from the horse and comes over to take a look at June. He can feel electricity running inside her body.
With one swift motion, Blaze sucks all the electricity into his hand. A small ball of blue electricity dancing in his palm, he throws it inside his mouth, inhaling its power into his lungs.
White smoke comes out of his mouth and a small burp.
"The house... in danger..."
June recovers some of her mobility, she immediately points toward Renly’s house, trying to tell Blaze.
He jerks his head to the side and takes a long, deep breath. A yellow aura envelops the shadow figure.
And thunder roars. The Wraith disappears, leaving only a streak of lightning in his path.
Everything becomes a blurry scene. Blaze takes under a second to dash inside the house.
Five men are currently terrorizing the household.
Three point their guns at the scared family.
Asani is here, holding her crying daughter tightly. Sitting beside her is an old woman that looks a lot like Asani. She must be her mother.
On the floor, an old man twitches in pain in a pool of blood. He has just been shot.
One of the men walks around the house, clicking his tongue.
"Now! Tell me! Where did Dominic keep those records?"
"We don’t know what you’re talking about. Please let us go!"
Asani shouts in hopelessness.
"You stubborn bitch. Remember, this is your doing. Watch the grandfather of your daughter die!"
The man points his handgun at the old man on the floor.
Suddenly, they all hear a lightning strike outside. The weather was dry when they came here, there shouldn’t be any lightning.
Normally, no one will pay attention to a lightning strike. But after what happened in the Roof, lightning strikes became the fear of all criminals inside Akansa.
The leader looks to one of the men and gestures his head to the door.
"Go check if everything’s alright."
The henchman nods. But before they can react, the entire room is filled with the yellow shade of lightning.
The shadow figure appears instantly in the middle of the room. He is so fast that the thunder isn’t even ringing yet.
Everything seems to come to a slow motion. All the men open their eyes wide. Their expression fills with horror.
Their worst nightmare has come.
But the Wraith does not allow for any reaction.
The thunder finally comes, and with it, the Wraith disappears again.
This time, Blaze does not even use his Thunder Force. He bulldozes each and every goon by his pure physical prowess.
First, he comes to the man that is threatening the elder on the floor.
With one punch, his hand penetrates the goon. Yellow lightning then bursts out of his forearm and explodes the man in half.
He then dashes to the three that are holding guns and gives each of them one devastating slap.
All of them are sent flying to the wall, smashing on the brick structure. Their guns fall to the ground.
Blaze is so fast that they didn’t even have time to react.
The last one turns and runs. Meeting him is a red lightning shooting out from the Destruction Wand.
He explodes in a mess of meat and blood.
The Thunderbolt produced by the Destruction Wand has become way too destructive for B-rank and lower. Previously, it would mess them up while at least keeping them some dignity.
Now the Thunderbolt just turns them into an explosion of flesh. Blaze really reconsiders using this power.
Thunder Force and Lightning Strike alone should be sufficient for now.
Blaze looks over the family. Asani’s mother shrinks in fear. Asani, on the other hand, seems much more composed.
Blaze approaches the old man and helps him get up. He still has a Blood Potion left, so he takes it out for the man.
The old man is scared just by looking at Blaze.
"Don’t worry. I’m here to help. Drink this."
Gulping one-third of the Potion and the wound on the old man closes instantly. He immediately feels much better than before.
"Thank... Thank you, Wraith."
The old man says.
"You know me?"
Asani gives her daughter to her mother to hold. She stands up and looks at Blaze.
"Everyone knows you. You’re our hero."
Blaze chuckles, having no intention to reply.
Purple energy pours out from Blaze, and the two winged angels are present in the world.
"They will come for you again. Leave this place. My men will make sure you get out of the city in one piece."
Hugo and Anton make a formal bow to the family, acting like servants.
"But Dominic is still here. We can’t let him like that."
Asani’s mother says.
The old man, Asani’s father-in-law, speaks up.
"We should go. I know my boy will understand us."
Blaze then takes out a matchstick and hands it over to Asani.
"The flame from this match will reduce his body to nothing. If you don’t want to leave him out here, you can burn his remains."
Tears well up in Asani’s eyes.
"It is a pity that we can’t find him a good place to rest. But it is for the best. I hope he can understand us."
"Why don’t you ask him yourself?"
"What..."
All three look at Blaze with puzzled expressions.
"Follow me."
They all come to Dominic’s coffin. Blaze’s hand glows yellow, and he pulls Dominic’s soul out of his corpse.
A translucent body with a yellow outline materializes into existence.
Dominic with his close-cropped hair and side fade. He still wears his police uniform in his soul state, a testament to his will and determination.
Dominic looks at his glowing body and then notices his family.
Asani rushes over to him, and he, too, stretches out his arms for her.
But their skin does not touch. Asani phases right through Dominic.
Her happy expression darkens immediately. The reality hits her.
"He is still dead. The dead and the living cannot cross paths."
Blaze says.
Disappointment fills Asani’s face.
"Don’t be sad, baby. At least he allows us to say goodbye."
"Mister Wraith..." The old man approaches Blaze.
"I have heard many stories about beings like you. We know you can resurrect our boy. Please help us!"
The same old misunderstanding. Isaac had the same reaction as well. Because of pure coincidence, Blaze’s appearance as the Wraith is very similar to the vengeful spirit in those myths and bibles.
Blaze actually can resurrect Dominic in some way. By making him a trapped soul and granting him a body.
Dominic is truly a good cop, dying for his cause. Maybe he can make Akansa a better place too.
But that will make Blaze a miracle healer. One that can resurrect the dead. If this gets out, people will all throw themselves at him for a chance to revive their loved ones.
He will then lose all his freedom. But there is a way to counteract that.
"All miracles come at a price. Are you willing to pay for it?"
Inside Blaze’s hand, a scroll of gold appears, the Celestial Contract.
Blaze will not be a charity. If Dominic wishes to be revived, he must pay the correct price.
His family looks at Dominic. Even in a soul state, they can see Dominic gulps from anxiety.
"So? Tell me your choice."
