I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 88: Erin
Blaze walks inside the door again. This time he chooses the door in the center.
He disappears inside the door, leaving Mitsuhiro standing at the scene. He turns back into a yellow fireball and seeps under the ground, disappearing in front of the public’s eyes.
Everyone looks at the empty doors and contemplates. The myth, the legend, and the notorious being that they all heard about have just appeared in front of their eyes.
"So it is true... The Wraith does exist!" A man says.
"Does this mean we aren’t going to be able to use the Pocket Center again? It must have no good intentions entering the doors."
"It must want to destroy the Pocket Center also."
Some other men speak their mind.
"Hey. What are you talking about? The Wraith is not that kind of man. He is a good guy."
"Yeah, why do I hear so many people speak badly about him? The Wraith did a good thing."
Some speak up to protect Blaze’s dignity.
"Did a good thing? Are you insane? The Wraith killed almost two hundred people in De Fallen!"
"He killed a bunch of rapists and kidnappers! They all deserve to die!"
After Blaze disappears, the entire scene becomes chaotic and erupts into arguments. One side opposes Blaze and thinks that he is the tyranny of evil. The other praises him like a shepherd, one who can lead them to a greater world.
Inside the Pocket Center, Blaze is transported into another completely different room from Francois.
This is a high-floored apartment in a tall building. It is raining outside with the bright white moon illuminating the dark room. Raindrops splash onto the glass windows, running across their wide surface. Blaze looks down from the body-length window, only to see a crime scene down at the ground.
Police cars are everywhere with their flashing green and red lights.
Blaze can even see some people down there, running around aimlessly in the chaos.
"Bizarre, isn’t it?" A voice emits from behind Blaze’s back.
A young woman walks out from the shadow. She has brown hair that is tied up nicely. A transparent jacket covers a black cropped top on her upper body. She wears jeans below with brown leather boots.
In contrast to Francois, this woman looks like she belongs to Ranas. The upper, rich class of Ranas.
Her face is carefully emphasized with light makeup and a tinted red lipstick.
An aura of elusiveness and seduction fills the woman. It exudes naturally without any force and without any extra gestures.
"You don’t seem to be afraid of my appearance."
Blaze says in the low, coarse voice of the Tattered Cloak.
"Is there supposed to be anything that I should be afraid of?"
The woman sits down on the glass table, gesturing for Blaze to come.
He has a better look at the room. Francois’s room, although out of time, still looks like a business establishment. But this room is a bedroom.
Blaze can see the woman’s bed from afar with the blanket still undone from the previous nap.
This Pocket Center becomes more and more difficult to understand.
Blaze sits down across from the woman.
"What should I address you?"
"You can call me Wraith."
"And you can call me Erin."
Blaze raises one side of his eyebrows. He knows this name. Almost everyone in Ranas knows it.
The dream girl of many Awakened inside Ranas. Conductor Erin of Pocket Center.
"Your name precedes you. You must be the famous Seductress they are always talking about."
"Seductress? Nothing but an unworthy title. I was called that name simply because people get the wrong idea due to the intimate nature of my pocket dimension."
"Isn’t this another world?"
Erin smiles, showing her clean white teeth and beautiful expression.
"Another world? This place is nothing more than an illusion. Nothing here is real. Even the people you saw down there."
Flashing lights of red and blue still phase through the window. The rain continues nonstop. Everything seems to create an unreal sense of the physical world.
Francois’s room seems real. But this place seems fake.
Blaze wonders who is actually telling the truth.
He puts the Cores on the table, the Specter’s Core, the Wood’s Revenant’s Core and the Dinosaur’s Core.
All three Cores were collected when Blaze was being the Wraith. No worries of anyone associating them with Blaze Singer.
"Oh?"
Erin is visibly surprised. It is rare when someone can bring multiple cores into her room.
She gently touches each Core by the tip of her index finger.
"The green and brown Cores belong to high-rank monsters. It must be a D or C-rank Crisis. But the conditions of the Cores are average.
Whoever dissected these Cores didn’t do a great job.
The blue Core must be a low E-rank Crisis. Its energy is in lower concentration, but the Core is almost in perfect condition.
May I ask who dissected the blue Core?"
Green and brown Cores are the Specter and Wood Revenant’s Cores. These are what Blaze looted from the Roof.
The blue one is the Dinosaur’s Core, which the System provided to Blaze. The difference in condition must be because of the System.
"A friend of mine who liked to stay anonymous."
Blaze lies.
"I see. It should take an hour to process all these Cores. I will take the usual fifty percent commission. Do you have any objection?"
Blaze lets out a despising laugh.
"I’ll let you state the percentage one more time, Erin. This time choose your words carefully."
Erin freezes, her shoulder tenses up.
"Why are you angry all of a sudden?
Well. Since I like you, I can lower the rate down to forty percent each. How’s that?"
She tries to act innocently and cutely. An expression that has charmed so many guys before Blaze.
Blaze tilts his head slightly.
"Where’s the mark?"
"Huh?"
"Where’s the mark of your Soul Oath?"
Erin’s eyes open wide. She jumps up from her seat, unconsciously covering the lower part of her belly.
"How did you know? Who are you?"
"Sit down, Erin. We can stop the charade and actually talk business."
Erin bites her lips. She hesitates but still sits down at the table eventually.
"Ten percent for each. No more, no less. Or I can try other doors."
"Alright."
Erin lets out a huge sigh. She finally admits defeat. If the customers don’t know about their true nature, maybe she has the chance to get more cut.
But now there is no chance. She has to accept this ’average’ rate or lose this deal.
"Please follow me."
In the middle of this room, a high table with a pool of black water inside. Erin puts the three Cores inside the water and places her hand onto two hand-shaped slots.
White energy pours out from her hand. The three Cores light up inside the black water. The water surface begins to boil intensively.
"That should be it. Give it an hour, and the Extraction should be completed. I have to ask you to wait for that time."
Erin sits down on her bed and lies down, effectively emphasizing the curves of her body.
She seems much more carefree than before, as if she doesn’t care if Blaze is right beside.
Blaze stands at the window, looking down onto the ground below. The police cars are still there, and the chaotic scene loops around like the beginning.
This place truly feels like an illusion. It is much more fitting for the name pocket dimension than Francois’s room.
"What type of services do you provide, Erin?"
Erin crawls on the bed toward Blaze’s side. She rests her jaw on her hands, looking at him seductively.
"What type of services do you have in mind?"
"Not the kind you are insinuating."
Erin chuckles.
"Even though people call me the Seductress. My door isn’t open for anyone you know.
Only special, very special people can reach my door.
And only unique people in those special people can gain a favor from me. People that I like.
A favor that you can never imagine.
Don’t you feel a little bit tempted?"
"I don’t use other people’s stuff."
