I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 68: Thunder Spear

A transparent light green aura surrounds Blaze, and a sphere of wind spreads out, howling intensely at the landscape, blowing all the sand and dirt around.

Blaze dashes forward. He is much faster than normal, reaching a superhuman speed.

But compared to pure Speedsters like Nadyr, he is still very slow.

Blaze approaches the wall and delivers a ruthless punch to the wall.

The wall cracks, leaving a fist-shaped hole in it.

Blaze exhales. His aura immediately disappears, and all the attributes that come along with it are also gone.

"This power is strong, but its limitation is obvious, linking directly to the amount of time I can hold my breath.

So this is why Endurance is the attribute that got enhanced."

The more endurance he has, the longer he can hold his breath. Blaze bets he can even extend the time of this aura further if he learns special breathing techniques.

This is a power that has a lot of room to develop.

Blaze then exudes lightning from his palm. He aims the lightning directly at his mouth and inhales the entire thing.

Electricity dissipates when it enters him, dissolving into pure yellow energy.

Blaze holds his breath again. This time, the aura appears to have a bright yellow color, one that is the same shade as his lightning.

Blaze zips away in a lightning dash. His body becomes a blur, bolting around in the night.

The Lightning version of the Focus Breath focuses intensely on speed. His Agility is almost tripled, while the other attributes have the same enhancement.

Blaze won’t be using this Lightning version too much, though. He still intends to keep every Electrokinesis power out of his arsenal to not be associated with the Wraith.

But when he is the Wraith, his enemies now have another power to fear.

Blaze also understands more about the superpower and how they operate.

Previously, Beast’s Link awakened a Sub Power even though it had not yet reached B-rank, but this was not counted as a mutation according to the System.

Now the mutation of Focus Breath not only adds on its original power, but the Sub Power Focus Healing was completely replaced with another version, Focus Lightning.

Blaze does feel a bit disappointed losing a regeneration ability.

This type of healing ability is rare in Ranas.

"Oh, well. Can’t dwell too much on it. Focus Lightning is a good alternative."

Blaze tries using it immediately as well.

Hyperventilation is when you breathe more rapidly and deeply than normal. Normally, this is caused by anxiety or physical conditions.

Sometimes people do this consciously to serve some kind of purpose as well.

Blaze’s lungs begin pumping quickly. He breathes by his diaphragm, causing his belly to inflate and deflate in quick succession.

Originally, only Blaze’s arms were able to produce electricity. But now, yellow lightning lights up in his lungs and begins bouncing around.

His body was conditioned to withstand electricity through the metamorphosis, so this action does not hurt him at all.

The more he breathes, the more lightning is stored inside his lungs. It shines through his skin and makes his organs become visible.

And then he holds his breath. The same effect happens like when he breathed lightning from before, the Lightning Focus Breath is activated.

Blaze bolts through the ground again.

Activating the power this way has no different effect than consuming lightning.

However, Blaze wants to test if the electricity from his lungs will affect his Thunder Force. 𝗳𝗿𝐞𝕖𝘄𝗲𝕓𝗻𝚘𝚟𝕖𝐥.𝚌𝕠𝕞

So he tries to store Lightning again and now uses it in combination with Thunder Force.

- Thunder Spear: Creating a physical spear made out of pure lightning power.

Blaze controls the lightning from his lungs to travel to his palm.

When he tries to release it out, instead of a lightning bolt, a solid spear slowly materializes itself.

In Blaze’s hand now is a bright yellow spear that is flashing instantly.

Its form does not remain still but flickers repeatedly like a true lightning bolt, changing from shape to shape.

"Hah! These powers always have secrets hidden somewhere."

Blaze brings the spear over his shoulder and stretches his other arm out to aim.

He has never thrown a normal spear before, but he saw those athletes on TV all the time. He copies their movement and uses all his strength to throw the thunder spear.

When it leaves his hand, an aggressive gust of wind shoots out from behind, sending the spear flying at an insane speed.

It turns back to a normal lightning bolt in mid-air and strikes onto the crevice wall again.

This time, the lightning bolt does not create a shockwave or an explosion. Instead, it drills straight into the canyon, cracking it from the inside.

Blaze closes his eyes to look down from above in Isaac’s raven eyes.

The spear digs a hole that is almost thirty meters long. Its electrical energy spreads in all directions, leaving branch cracks around the deepest piercing point.

Blaze inhales due to shock. This thunder spear is made out of Focus Lightning, so it does not have the shockwave power like Thunder Force.

But its penetrating power is purely insane. It is perfect for Blaze to use on a singular target that has extremely durable defense.

"Well. That is it for experimenting. It’s time for the last metamorphosis."

Blaze needs to register an A-rank superpower. Thunder Force is a no-no. Beast’s Link needs at least 7000 EXP, which Blaze doesn’t have at the moment.

Genesis Legion is too precious of a power to let the public know.

The only suitable power is the new Lightning Focus Breath.

Similar to when Force Blast evolved from C-rank to B-rank, Lightning Focus Breath also has three choices to pick from.

It probably is the same with all powers, the only exception is Thunder Force, a predetermined evolution line that leaves no other options.

Lightning Circulation and Breathing Aura both remove one affinity and focus on the other.

I am not willing to get rid of any of them right now.

Blaze thinks. He is satisfied with Focus Breath as it currently is, usable on its own and able to be combined with his arsenal.

So naturally, the most suitable power for Blaze to choose is the third option, an improved version of the original B-rank power.
