Blaze smiles when he sees the four-digit experience points.

He fulfilled his saying and killed everyone in the Roof, apart from the innocents obviously, and gained an enormous amount of experience.

He can even gain more if he decides to eat every last soul inside the Lantern.

But he won’t eat them... yet.

They all are different people with different lives. Blaze will take a look at their life before deciding what to do with them.

For now, 9970 experience points are enough for Blaze.

Upgrading Beast’s Eyes will cost only 500 EXP. Blaze has no reason to hesitate.

And then the metamorphosis comes.

Last time, when Force Impact (D-rank) evolved into Force Blast (C-rank), the metamorphosis was extremely painful and long.

It took all of Blaze’s willpower to not scream out in pain when it happened.

Blaze expects the same with Beast’s Eyes. But each power is completely different from the others.

Instead of pain, Blaze feels extremely dizzy. It’s like the entire ground and sky have switched places with each other.

Blaze’s vision distorts and twists into a spiral. His ear is ringing. All the hair on his body stands up.

His tongue feels bitter for a few seconds, then sweet, then salty. All kinds of tastes dance chaotically inside his mouth.

He can smell the lunch he just had earlier. Then Alyson’s alluring scent, the one that covered him when he hugged her. Then the smell of burning corpses and rotted flesh.

His five senses go crazy.

Blaze lies on the bed, trying to stay relaxed through the whole thing.

His senses go haywire, but there isn’t any pain at all. Only chaos ensues his awareness.

This process comes quickly and ends quickly. It lasts for only a few minutes, then a blissful feeling overwhelms his brain.

He can feel his brain is rearranging itself on a molecular level. An addition to his mind is gently materializing into existence.

And then Blaze opens his mind. The first thing he sees is his new attributes.

Amongst the six original attributes, a new member reveals itself: Psyche.

Blaze can feel that his mind is clearer, sharper, and more in control.

Not only that, the effect of Mind Potion was coming to an end, and Blaze’s mind was feeling a bit tired.

But he is completely fine now. He feels like he just woke up from a good night’s sleep.

Blaze sits up, gently rubbing the left temple of his head. He feels like his head has grown bigger by a size, but by looking at a mirror, Blaze can see that he is still the same.

"What a weird feeling... And hard to describe also."

Different from Force Blast and Genesis Legion, Blaze’s outside appearance does not experience any changes. Only his mind is affected.

This is probably also the reason why Beast’s Link is compatible with Mind Crawler’s Extraction.

Blaze waits no more and gulps that entire thing down also.

The metamorphosis continues.

Blaze’s hair spurs like it is living. His head produces an invisible energy that distorts the surrounding air.

This time, the pain comes. It feels like someone is taking a hammer and repeatedly banging on Blaze’s left brain.

He can feel the skin on his head pulsating with every surge of the pain.

He falls down to his bed again, silently enduring the anguish.

The right side of his body twitches uncontrollably, in unison with the left side of his brain being mentally tortured.

The pain comes like waves smack onto Blaze one after another.

It is manageable in the beginning but continues to grow harder and harder. The original hammer now feels like a giant baseball bat swinging at Blaze every other second.

He grips onto the bedsheets and clenches his jaw. Veins bulge on his head visibly.

Seconds after seconds pass. And finally, the metamorphosis completes.

Blaze relaxes his entire body. Sweat covers him and drenches his clothes.

He lets out a breath of relief.

Blaze sits up again. All the mental recovery provided by the Beast’s Link is completely destroyed by its Sub Power, Avatar of the Mind.

Blaze takes out the Mind Potion and drinks it all. Previously only one-third of the bottle was able to completely heal his mind. Now it requires double that amount.

Blaze’s brain finally calms down. He stretches his body to release all of its tension.

"That was awful."

Blaze says. "Much more awful than Force Blast and Genesis Legion."

He still has more than nine thousand experiences. He can go ahead and upgrade his power even more.

But before that, Blaze takes a look at his inventory.

He opens the Consumables Blindbox first.
