Chapter 57: Chapter 57: Inventory Check

"Are you going to come home with me?"

Marshall turns to Alyson.

She grabs Blaze’s arm tightly and shakes her head.

Marshall’s jaw freezes in place. They only have a small deal, and his daughter already wants to give herself away.

"I understand you want to stay, but you aren’t married yet. You can’t sleep with him!"

Alyson’s face turns bright red.

"Who said I’m going to sleep with him?!"

Alyson shouts.

"Don’t worry, Mr. Aldrin. She will sleep with me." Kana says. "I’ll make sure they don’t do anything stupid."

"Well, I have no more reason to object. Take care of my daughter for me, Mrs. Singer."

"Let me help you out."

Kana leads Marshall away. The short reunion of Alyson with her father was so antagonistic, completely different from the peaceful vibe of Blaze and his mother.

No wonder why Alyson never wants to stay with her father.

"I’m sorry."

Alyson lowers her head and says in a low, barely audible tone. She looks like a child that just did something wrong.

Blaze can’t control himself and pinches her cheek lightly.

"What are you talking about? You are my woman now. I’ll protect you."

Alyson shoves him away.

"Who is your woman?! I’ll go say goodbye to my father."

And she runs away in embarrassment.

Ah... Cute little thing.

Blaze thinks. She is very gentle and shy around him. The side of her that no one else can see. She is the ferocious Lioness, after all.

Blaze goes back to his room. He still hasn’t checked his newly acquired loot yet. There are also Blindboxes that he needs to open.

Inside his room, Blaze sits down on his bed once again.

It was right here that he opened his first Blindbox and received his first power.

First, let me check the Diametric Cube...

Blaze takes out the Cube he got from the Roof.

[Diametric Storage]

1. Unknown Crisis Core

2. Unknown Crisis Core

3. Unknown Crisis Core

4. Crisis Extraction

5. SL Soldier Armor

6. SL Rifle

7. Bullets

There are three Crisis Cores inside. Blaze takes each of them out and holds them in his hand. He wants to see if the System can recognize these Cores.

[Detecting unknown energy!]

[Detecting unknown energy!]

[Identify Specter’s Core!]

[Identify Wood Revenant’s Core!]

[Identify Crazed Hound’s Core!]

Specter’s Core has a light green shade to it and is gently gleaming.

The Wood Revenant’s Core has a dark brown color and rough surface. It feels hard to touch, similar to that of a tree trunk.

The Crazed Hound’s Core looks like a ball of darkness with purple stripes running inside it.

[Specter’s Core]

- Affinity to Unknown Wolf Egg: 2.3%

- Chance to increase Beast Rank: 3.9%

- Chance to awaken Beast Power: 4.7%

[Wood Revenant’s Core]

- Affinity to Unknown Wolf Egg: 0.03%

- Chance to increase Beast Rank: 0.05%

- Chance to awaken Beast Power: 0.1%

[Crazed Hound’s Core]

- Affinity to Unknown Wolf Egg: 95.04%

- Chance to increase Beast Rank: 97.50%

- Chance to awaken Beast Power: 99.23%

Aside from the name of the Cores, the System also determines the affinity of it with the Wolf Egg that Blaze is storing.

Aside from that, not much information is provided. Blaze doesn’t need to learn much about it anyway.

He will bring them to the Pocket Center eventually, and they will be able to measure its properties.

Blaze uses the power of the Genesis Legion to absorb the three Cores’ DNA.

Purple energy pours out of his skin and envelops the three cores that are sitting on the bed.

They slowly become smaller as the S-rank power extracts the DNA inside them.

[New Genesis Clones are unlocked!]

- Living Spirit: Genetic traces received from Specter’s Core.

The clone can use Soul Scream (C-rank)

The clone can transform its body to a half-spirit state, immune to any physical attack.

The clone’s psyche is greater than that of the user (+2).

Price: 2 years lifespan or 1000 EXP

- Cursed Wood: Genetic traces received from Wood Revenant’s Core.

The clone can use Wood Manifestation (C-rank)

The clone can transform its body to a half-spirit state, immune to any physical attack.

The clone’s psyche is greater than that of the user (+2).

Price: 2 years lifespan or 1000 EXP

- Unstable Canine: Genetic traces received from Crazed Hound’s Core.

The clone can use Shadow Dash (C-rank)

The clone can transform between human form and dog form.

The clone’s stamina is greater than that of the user (+2)

Price: 2 years lifespan or 1000 EXP

"Hmm. The Specter’s Core and Wood Revenant’s Core produce very similar Genesis. The Crises probably were in the same layer in the Void."

Nadyr got these Cores as a gift from some customers at the Roof. It isn’t suitable for his power, so he stored it away.

In the Clone Storage pocket dimension, three more stars suddenly appear. The sky of this space has become much more colorful than when William first came here.

"What’s even happening?" William says.

While Hugo and Anton don’t think too much about it and only observe the pretty stars.

Blaze shoves the rest of the Crazed Hound’s Core to the Beast window, feeding it to the Unknown Wolf Egg.

It dematerializes and is completely consumed by the transparent window.

[Unknown Wolf Egg is absorbing the energy from Crazed Hound’s Core...]

[Congratulations, the guaranteed rank of your Beast has increased!]

[Congratulations, you Beast has awakened a guaranteed Power!]

[Hatching time has decreased!]

[Beast Storage: 1/4]

- Unknown Wolf Egg: Estimated time until hatch 135:23

Beast Rank: C or higher

Beast Power: Direwolf’s Bloodlust (D-rank); Shadow Steps (D-rank).

The progress bar under the egg is filled up again, stocking almost one-third of the entire bar.

The little wolf cub becomes stronger again. Blaze is looking forward to seeing its hatch.

It can become a very strong ally beside Blaze. Now with the Beast’s Eyes power, the wolf can cooperate even better with him.

Next, Blaze takes out the Crisis Extraction. This is the Core’s energy that was processed in the Pocket Center and turned into a digestible product.

One that is suitable for an Awakened to consume.

The Extraction is a spherical pill. All of the energy inside a Core is converted and condensed into this pill. It is small enough to swallow and safe enough to not outright kill the Awakened.

The chaotic energy inside the Core was processed. It can never be removed entirely but is stabilized enough so that a merge with the power of the Awakened is possible.

The way Awakened consumes it is very simple. You swallow the entire pill.

The actual compatibility between the Awakened and the Extraction, and possible results after consuming, can only be measured by the Pocket Center.

They will let you know what kind of power is suitable for the Extraction.

If the energy matches, then there should be no issues.

But if the energy is conflicting with your power, swallowing an Extraction Pill can explode the Awakened into pieces.

Blaze already knows what this pill is attuned to because of Nadyr’s memory. But he wants to test if the System will have any response.

[Detecting unknown energy!]

[Identify Mind Crawler’s Extraction!]

[Mind Crawler’s Extraction]

- Affinity to Force Blast: 7.8%

- Affinity to Genesis Legion: 5.2%

- Affinity to Beast’s Eyes: 93.21%

[Core Extraction]

- This type of Consumable can:

1. Decrease the experience needed to upgrade a power.

2. Awaken a Sub Power.

3. Mutate the original power.

- The actual results may vary.

"Can I see the effect it may have if I take it?"

An hourglass shows up in the System then a new window appears.

[Mind Crawler’s Extraction]

- Chance to affect Force Blast: 3.2%

- Chance to affect Genesis Legion: 2.6%

- Chance to affect Beast’s Eyes: 99%

[Detecting compatibility with Beast’s Eyes (99%)]

[Consuming the Extraction will pose no risks. To know its exact effect, please use the consumable.]

"Heh! You finally responded to what I asked."
