I Only Want To Kill-Chapter 53: Looting
A Diametric Cube is a very rare device, and you can’t just buy it with money. You need to have connections and influence to buy it.
The only organization that can make it is the Institution of Order. Neither the Federation nor Vox can produce this item. This is more than enough to prove its scarcity.
Blaze reaches out his hand, the Sun Bird materializes.
He makes one clean cut and dismembers Nadyr’s right hand.
Blaze takes the hand and quickly runs toward the position of the safe.
The Roof is decimated, and other people are going to be here soon. He needs to act quickly and take as much as he can.
The safe is in the basement, inside a small storage room just next to the capsule room.
This storage room looks nothing out of the ordinary, inside is a bunch of everyday tools, brooms, buckets, vacuum cleaners, etc.
It is no different than a janitor closet.
Blaze pushes everything aside.
On the floor, a small rectangular glass is built into the cement. According to Nadyr’s memory, this is a fingerprint scan, and the only thing that can activate this mechanism is Nadyr’s fingerprint.
Blaze already took care of this problem by bringing Nadyr’s hand with him.
He takes out the hand and presses the cold, hard thumb into the scan.
A low, barely audible mechanical sound emits from the floor. A handle pops up, and smoke spreads out.
Blaze grabs the handle and pulls it up, a hidden compartment stored under the ground is revealed.
This is where Nadyr stores the profit of the Roof before transferring it to Cavalcante.
Luckily, this is the end of the month, and all the profit the Roof has collected for the entire month is inside.
Inside the compartment, a bunch of small and flattened chips are stacked on each other. In the front, standing on its own, is a palm-sized dark blue cube.
Bingo...
There are the diametric cubes and a lot of zips. Nadyr doesn’t know exactly the number of credits he is storing, but normally it will be around two million credits each month.
For peak tourism time, the profit of the Roof can even go as high as nine or ten million credits a month.
Blaze picks up the Diametric Cube first. The Cube has a circular screen on top of which the user can interact with to check the current storage and items that are stored inside.
Blaze swipes his fingers on the screen. The details of the diametric cube appear.

Blaze taps on the last sentence.
[Diametric Storage]

2. Unknown Crisis Core
3. Unknown Crisis Core
4. Crisis Extraction
5. SL Soldier Armor
6. SL Rifle
7. Bullets
There are a lot of things inside the Diametric Cube. Three Crisis Cores that Nadyr collected. One Crisis Extraction that can be consumed by any Awakened any time.
There is also armor and the gun from the time Nadyr was in the Steel Legion. The rest are some bullets.
The diametric cube has 27 cubic meters of space for storage, 3 meters high, 3 meters wide, and 3 meters long.
Not the biggest cube, but more than enough for Blaze to store a lot of things.
Blaze takes the zips and hovers them over the Diametric Cube’s screen. They disappear instantly and are sent to the cube’s pocket dimension.
After looting everything clean, Blaze throws the Diametric Cube into his Inventory, creating a pocket space inside a pocket space, and then he retreats from the scene.
Outside the building, 173 captives stand around, waiting for help to come.
Police cars and ambulances park everywhere. Their emergency lights flicker all over the area.
Many superheroes have also arrived. They were all summoned by the Liberty Sons.
These are all the heroes that operate inside the Underground Network. Legally speaking, they are all independent contractors that are not under the influence of any Giants.
The heroes cooperate with the local authority to help the captives.
They mostly try to keep the order while the police take in the names of the captives, examine their health, and move them away from the premises.
Two hundred people can cause quite a scene, and the police do not want that much chaos running around.
Especially when the press is always there.
Everyone is shocked by what they’re witnessing, both the officials and the heroes.
In the heart of the most popular entertainment city of Ranas lies a prison of kidnap victims.
All are being taken advantage of and violated every day.
But they aren’t truly shocked. A simple deduction, and everyone can figure out the truth.
They just decided to turn a blind eye because finding out the truth has consequences.
"My god, Captain!"
Anya says while helping a girl out.
"This is the truth behind the City of Angels?!"
Anya shouts. She’s not trying to blame anybody, only to vent her rage.
The girl she’s helping shrinks her body due to the noise. She has been abused regularly, so a tiny amount of noise is enough to set up a flight response.
"Oh, poor girl... I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to scare you."
A masked hero with slicked-back blonde hair says: "It’s not! It’s only a small part of Akansa that is like this!"
Preston looks around, counting the number of captives.
"Really? There must be at least 200 people here. I know Akansa is your home, but this is too much."
The blond hero bites his lips.
Dastan and another speedster run out from the house.
"Me and Quicksplash just check the building. Everyone is dead in a very horrific way."
Dastan says.
"The first floor is a massacre."
Quicksplash is as pale as a dead man. He sweats profusely, not from running but from fear.
"But that is just normal killing. But the people on the ground floor and the fifth floor..."
"What? What’s wrong?" Preston says.
"They weren’t killed, Captain."
Dastan says.
"Each and every one of them committed suicide." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
Preston’s brows furrow deeper. Nothing makes sense anymore.
"Could it be a telepath who did this?"
Preston says.
"No, Captain. It may be someone we know."
Dastan says.
All the members of the Liberty Sons stare at him.
He slowly continues: "According to the witness, the attacker wore a torn black cloak. His attack was using a wand that fires lightning.
Sounds familiar, Captain?"
"It can’t be. That creature is a Crisis. It couldn’t have gone into the real world."
"I don’t know. It’s what the witness said. However, there is something different about the attacker compared to the creature we faced. The girl says it has a face, a white face that looks like a mask.
While our creature did not have any face."
Dastan says.
Suddenly, Batrick shouts.
"Captain..."
He points toward a familiar figure in the crowd.
"That... Isn’t that William D’Angelo?"
Everyone looks over, they catch William’s gaze in the air.
William D’Angelo, the student that was killed by the Wraith in the Mirror Layer. They saw him die with their own eyes. His body is still fresh inside the city morgue.
But now, this dead man is once again walking among the living. A cold feeling runs down the spines of the Liberty Sons.
William waves at them before disappearing from existence.
