I Level Up Dragons with My Evolution System-Chapter 80: Rescue and Level Up
"KYAAA!" The eagle roared as it thrashed about, trying to break free from the chains that bound it. Its power was terrifying, and the variety of its magic was impressive.
Almost every move it made used magic.
But it wasn’t magic from the Magical Network of Beast Master Mages; only they knew where the magic came from, if it even came from anywhere at all.
But its magic didn’t bear much fruit against Edward and Arnold’s attack power and Aurora’s powerful control chains.
Her legs could not be lifted off the ground, she could not fly to take advantage of her greatest strength. And her wings were quickly pierced by the enormous legs of a spider that fell from above and enveloped her in powerful webs from which she could not escape.
The frenzied attacks of five beings quickly led to the death of this dungeon’s boss, who was eaten away from the inside by the Spider’s poison and from the outside by three humans and a strange werewolf.
The enormous body of a beast that strikes fear into the surrounding regions fell to the ground.
[You have contributed to the killing of the Red Eagle Boss.]
[Your Wind Caterpillar has gained 800 Experience Points.]
[Experience Points: 2,650/2,700.]
’So close...’ Edward didn’t have time to celebrate or regret coming so close to that level 10.
"They might get away, let’s hurry!" Aurora shouted as soon as she saw that the eagle would not rise again.
They ripped the core out of the boss and didn’t stay to get the rest of the valuable materials; they had to run.
Lander had already gone ahead, but he was injured, so it didn’t take them long to catch up with him.
When they reached the intersection where the dungeon split into dozens of tunnels, they noticed movement.
"Don’t even dream about it." Aurora sneered and moved her hands nimbly through the wind. Her body moved forward dramatically as if carried by the wind, and she whispered, "Wind Spider Vine."
Aurora’s spider jumped over her and positioned itself right above her head. Threads of wind shot out from both bodies and spread at great speed until they hit seven different men. The force of the impact caused them to crash into the cave walls, and then Edward and Arnold appeared from behind to attack them.
Just then...
BOOM!
BOOM!
A series of wind explosions came from behind them.
Edward turned abruptly and noticed that they were surrounded by red eagles approaching rapidly. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Shit." Edward quickly jumped on one of the people he had to rescue and threw him to the ground. A blade of wind passed where he had been a second before and hit the wall.
"Aurora, we have to get out!" he shouted.
Aurora nodded and returned to the ground.
"Take them away," Aurora said. "You have the ability to lead them to safety. I’ll take care of holding off the beasts. Besides, Lander has been injured again."
Edward looked at Lander and nodded quickly. "Honestly, I’d like to do it myself..."
"I’m from the Control Group, Ed. I specialize in holding off beasts," Aurora replied.
"I understand." Edward nodded and looked at the hostages who were staring at them in shock.
"Don’t worry, we’re from the Academy and we’re here on a mission to rescue you. Follow us, we’ll get you out alive."
"Are you Mr. Kan?"
A fat man nodded quickly. "I’m Kan, from the Family..."
"His family requested the mission, please come with us," Edward interrupted. "Arnold, I’ll leave the rear guard to you."
Edward then tied up all the kidnappers and dragged them through the dungeon, while helping Lander walk.
They walked nimbly behind and beside Edward. Under his leadership, they didn’t encounter too many problems. Mainly because the closer they got to the exit, the fewer beasts there were.
The problem was behind them, where Aurora performed extremely well and managed to keep a bunch of red eagles at bay. Arnold tried to help her, but there were too many.
Even Arnold had to admit it, Aurora was far above him. If they left that job to him, he wasn’t sure he could complete it.
Getting out was quite a bit harder than getting in. Lander was a problem; he had been hit by numerous spells and his body wasn’t very resilient. He had several fractures and numerous bruises all over his body.
He was even more problematic than the exaggerated ones in the group.
30 minutes later.
Edward managed to get them outside.
He immediately turned around, without worrying about anything else, and ran back into the dungeon. "Take them to a safe place. I’ll help Aurora," he said to Arnold, before going back inside once more.
It didn’t take him long to find her. She was so focused on her battle for control that she didn’t even notice when he appeared behind her.
"There are a lot of them." Edward noticed that there were more than 40. Although they weren’t very strong, they were of a good level. He could go up a few levels if he could kill them...
He looked behind him... no one was following him.
He didn’t like to show all his cards, even when he was in front of Lander or Arnold. Life had taught him to be a little cautious lately.
Seeing that no one was following him, he wielded his sword. "Let’s kill him," he said, before jumping into combat.
His sword swung left and right, striking every beast that crossed his path. With Aurora’s help, he not only displayed his wind magic, but also his fire, earth, and briefly his water magic.
He used his entire arsenal, although he only attempted to level up his fire and wind magic. When he had to kill a wind beast, his caterpillar appeared...
His experience points immediately began to rise as system messages flooded his vision.
It was a chaotic but controlled fight. The combination of the two was deadly for the eagles, and his Wind Caterpillar finally managed to transform into a Wind Butterfly... It even reached level 11.
His Fire Butterfly masterfully rose to level 13.
The last head of one of the beasts fell into his hand.
He smiled and turned to look at Aurora. "Looks like I’ve gotten strong," he joked.
Aurora, on the other hand, had a serious expression on her face. "There is no 3-Star student who has the strength, agility, skill, and endurance that you have," she said, frowning slightly. "Even among the 4-Stars, there is no one."
"Well, each level makes me significantly stronger." He smiled but said nothing. Some things were better kept secret.
"Can I see your Wind Caterpillar?" he asked. "Butterfly," she corrected herself.
"Right." He immediately took it out.
The evolution wasn’t too different from the other one, but its decorations were different.
While the Fire Butterfly was beautiful for its fire carvings and its "veins" that looked like lava, this one had a softer and more pleasant feel to it.
The design fluttered in the wind, but it wasn’t because its wings were trembling, but because that was the feeling it gave off due to its extraordinary design.
It was the same size as Fuego’s, but its eyes were less playful and more calm. It didn’t fly as erratically; it was more static, but also more mystical.
While one was focused on erasing whatever it touched from existence... the other was simply focused on movement and precision.
On the critical strike and certainty.
They were different feelings.

Edward swallowed hard. Like the first one, this one was just as surprising, though less direct.
’Damage, buff for me, and debuff for the enemy... In a way, it’s better than Incineration Pollen.’
Aurora nodded after looking at it for a while. "Indeed, it’s a control-type beast. Only its control is strange."
"Why do you say that?" Edward asked. In fact, this ability was very good at control; those debuffs and nullification effects were clearly Control.
"Her wind is very sharp," said Aurora. "You don’t understand because you are her bearer, but if you make someone look at her, they will feel that the wind is cutting them or trying to cut them."
"Cutting? Do you mean she doesn’t want you to look at her? Wouldn’t that be shy? Beasts have egos too."
"No, not that kind of cutting. It’s more like the feeling that it cuts your perception of it. It’s strange. I can’t explain it properly,"
Edward nodded... thoughtfully. There was something she had said that struck a chord with him, reminding him of the effects of wind magic... They seemed to have descriptions similar to what she had said.
