Chapter 75: Wind Dungeon (1)

"So this is a dungeon..." Edward looked up at the enormous door built on top of a mountain.

Behind them, the enormous walls of Lor greeted them from the north gate, and this place was known as "The Mountain of the Wind Dungeon."

"Although not all dungeons have giant doors. This type of dungeon is special because its beasts use the wind and can fly. They need huge doors to return to their lairs when they decide to leave the nest," Aurora replied beside him.

"They leave the dungeons?" Edward looked at her, shocked.

"Of course. Unlike the cursed beasts that are corrupt, these dungeon beasts are normal beasts. They tend to migrate frequently, so you can think of dungeons as houses built for them to migrate within."

Edward nodded slightly. "I’d never thought of it that way."

Aurora laughed. "Although there are dungeons that aren’t like that. The beasts don’t usually come out because they live in deep caves or because they were trapped there by human hands and put there to strengthen the students."

’I thought they were all like that.’ He didn’t respond, simply walking through the door, with Aurora following close behind.

They were the only two who were going to challenge this dungeon, and it was because Edward wanted to level up.

Once they crossed the door, on the other side they found a gigantic cave. It had artificial lighting, which looked like the sun, but it was a cave on a mountain.

"Although it may not seem like it, much of this structure was formed naturally," said Aurora, fascinated every time she saw this dungeon. "The elders of the past only had to chisel the figure and make it habitable for the great wind beasts."

’It doesn’t look like something like that could be formed naturally, but this is a fantasy world.’ Edward smiled and stopped thinking nonsense.

He took out one of his caterpillars, the wind one.

Aurora stared at the Caterpillar swaying around him. "Ed, are you sure you can do what you mentioned earlier?" she asked...

"How else do you think I could have evolved my Fire Caterpillar so quickly?" Edward laughed.

"Even if that’s the case..." Aurora frowned. "My little poisonous spider started in its third evolution. Do you want to know what evolution it’s in now?" she asked, not waiting for his answer. "The third! I haven’t been able to evolve it even once. It’s not easy at all."

"Some people are born lucky, although not that lucky." Edward looked behind him. "Your beast is a powerful spider, which also allows you to have almost double attributes. Mine are small caterpillars in their first evolutions. It will take me a lot to get them to the third or fourth."

Aurora shook her head. "You’re underestimating your ridiculous speed," she said and walked toward him. "But then I can say that Robert’s face will soon be slapped." She laughed.

"I hope it’s during mid-year practice," Edward joked.

"You’re aiming high," Aurora joked and took out her poisonous spider.

It was huge, measuring almost 2 meters. Its legs were long, pointed, and green, while most of its body was a peculiar combination of black and red, with nuances.

Its eyes were red and had almost perfect peripheral vision, which made it extremely viable as a guardian.

They finally began to walk into the dungeon.

KYAA! Suddenly, loud beast cries echoed throughout the surroundings as four baby falcons, each measuring over 1 meter, leaped out from their hiding places.

"Let’s not waste too much on them," said Aurora, pulling out several throwing weapons she had bought earlier. "Let’s use these. They die relatively quickly since they’re low-level beasts."

The weapons in question were small kunai-type daggers with blades on four sides that were held in the middle. To throw them, you have to apply enough force in the middle to keep them balanced.

They are considered secondary weapons and are not usually very useful due to their low penetration capacity. But against flying beasts like these, they are very useful for bringing them down.

Aurora created a light wind around the four she held in one hand and, with surgical precision, threw them all at the same time.

The daggers flew at high speed, propelled by the wind magic exerted upon them. This wind magic was connected simultaneously, so the four daggers moved in unison, but not in the same direction.

Each one was aimed at a different beast.

’So that’s how the Masters of Control attack,’ Edward thought, amazed.

The daggers struck near the neck, the baby falcons screamed in agony and began to fall to the ground.

"About to die," said Aurora.

It was Edward’s turn. He took out his kunais and held one in his hand. He concentrated on it and enveloped it in fire, activating "Terminal Spark," allowing it to become a deadly object.

He immediately threw it in the direction of one of them. The kunai flew at high speed and stuck precisely into the falcon’s neck.

[You have helped kill a Level 1 Baby Falcon.]

[Your Wind Caterpillar gains +2 Experience Points.]

’2?’ Edward was surprised to see such a small number, but he continued to strike the remaining ones.

[You have killed a Level 1 Baby Falcon.]

[+4 Experience Points...]

Edward nodded slightly, understanding what was happening.

Level 1 beasts from a Cursed Land granted 8 points because they were more powerful. These small Level 1 beasts only gave 4.

If you killed them with other people, the amount was divided... though not equally, just a portion was taken away.

"You’ve improved at throwing kunai," Aurora praised him. "At this rate, you should be able to throw two at the same time soon."

"If I concentrate, I should be able to, but it’s complicated to try to activate magic that way. I think the difficult part isn’t throwing the kunai, but making them magically imbued," he replied with some understanding.

"Indeed. This killing technique is important as a secondary technique, so try to understand it as best you can now that we’re going to be training." She said and looked into the depths. "Our final destination will be the Enduring Wind Falcon, it is the boss of this area."

"And the Four-Winged Eagle?" Edward asked, interested in that beast. "I heard it’s pretty strong."

She smiled. "If we have enough time, we could try to go to it. It’s just that there’s a lot of wind there, and it will be difficult to get in and continue hunting."

"All right." He looked at the corpses in the distance. "Should we take their cores?" he asked. He knew they were valuable, but were level 1 cores any good?

"No, they’re not very valuable to us. We need them to be fully mature. At least halfway to the first evolution," Aurora replied, and they both started walking.

’That would be approximately level 5,’ Edward nodded.
