Chapter 145: Chapter 107: Myriad Beasts Stampede, One Man Holds the Pass

Because their hearts are pure, they possess an Innate Divine Technique.

To see people, things, and the world with their hearts!

With a single glance, they can see through to the very essence of people and things.

This ability is even more incredible than the Eyes of Golden Flame’s power to reveal true forms.

The Eyes of Golden Flame can only reveal true forms, but the Snowy Spirit Cat can see a person’s fundamental nature.

Whether a person is arrogant, insidious, conceited, cowardly, or despicable...

It can see it all!

For the Su Family’s ancestor to have been able to tame a Snowy Spirit Cat, one can only imagine what kind of person he was.

If not a Saint, he couldn’t have been far from it.

Su Zhenyun had earned the Spirit Cat’s recognition and shared in some of its abilities.

Therefore, there was no need to worry that she was lying.

This ability of the Snowy Spirit Cat also meant the Su family wasn’t particularly well-liked.

Gu Zheng, however, was not afraid.

While he wasn’t some soft-hearted Goody Two-shoes, his conscience was clear in everything he did.

Liangqiu Changkong was likely much the same.

Otherwise, Su Zhenyun would never have associated with him.

In a way, you never had to worry about being stabbed in the back by anyone who could travel with a member of the Su family.

...

"Gu, you’re incredible."

Liangqiu Changkong sighed with emotion. "It’s only been two or three months, and you’ve broken through to the Super Body Realm, been promoted to Hundred Households, and even earned the recognition of a Spirit Beast with such a mysterious origin and ancient bloodline! Amazing, truly amazing. I can’t help but feel envious."

"It was just a stroke of luck."

Gu Zheng just smiled and didn’t say much. "The Domain hasn’t closed yet. Liangqiu, Miss Su, are you sure you won’t go in..."

BUZZ—!

Suddenly, a strange fluctuation emanated from the sky above Old Ox Mountain.

High above, bolts of lightning appeared in the dim sky, weaving through the heavens.

A vast, invisible aura swept out unhurriedly, covering the land and spreading in all directions.

"Well then."

Liangqiu Changkong looked up and spread his hands. "The Domain has already closed, and it’s starting to transform into a passage. By the way, Gu, why didn’t you go in and destroy the Rule Array..."

SLAP—

Slapping his own bald head, Liangqiu Changkong said apologetically, "My bad. I forgot you’re already in the Super Body Realm. This Domain was only first-tier, so you couldn’t have entered it at all."

WHOOSH!

WHOOSH!

Before Gu Zheng could speak, two figures flew swiftly down the mountain.

It was Zhang Ning and An Xiaoxue, one after the other, scrambling down the mountain in a sorry state.

"Chief, we couldn’t find the Rule Array Hub, and the Domain is about to turn into a passage."

Zhang Ning, spattered with a good amount of Demon Blood, reported while panting like an ox, "This Domain was full of those Beast Demons—Fire Wolves, Shadow Rhinoceroses, Long-haired Oxen, Two-headed Tigers, and Three-tailed Pythons. Their Life Levels are low, but there are a ton of them."

"Also... there was another kind of Demon Fiend with black ram’s horns, a fleshless face, that walked upright like a human."

An Xiaoxue’s face was deathly pale, as if she were injured. She continued the report, "There weren’t many of those Demon Fiends, but they were terrifying..."

"That’s the Black Sheep Demon Race."

Liangqiu Changkong interjected, "The fact that you escaped from the Black Sheep Demon Race is already quite impressive. The Black Sheep Demon Race can manipulate minds. Even those with high realms will fall prey to them and be controlled if their willpower isn’t strong enough."

"Manipulate minds?"

Hearing this, Zhang Ning glanced at Liangqiu Changkong. Instead of asking who he was, he frowned in thought. Then, as if remembering something, he said with sudden realization, "That must be it. I saw a Two-headed Tiger and a Long-haired Ox walking together several times without fighting. And everyone knows the Long-haired Ox is one of the Two-headed Tiger’s main prey!"

"Controlling Demon Fiends?"

Gu Zheng’s sharp brows furrowed. "Could the Black Sheep Demon Race control a large number of Beast Demons, use the passage to rush out from the other side, and ’cleanse’ our side first?"

"This..." Zhang Ning froze.

An Xiaoxue was dumbfounded as well.

Liangqiu Changkong also frowned, then said grimly, "That’s a real possibility! The Black Sheep Demon Race are Wise Demons, and they’re incredibly insidious and cunning. Before they know what’s on the other side of the passage, it’s highly likely they’ll send out controlled Beast Demons to scout things out!"

As if to confirm Liangqiu Changkong’s words, a massive RUMBLE suddenly erupted from Old Ox Mountain. The ground shook violently, as if the very mountains were swaying.

"I and my big mouth..."

The corner of Liangqiu Changkong’s mouth twitched.

"Liangqiu, Miss Su!"

Gu Zheng suddenly cupped his fists, bowing solemnly to the two of them. "I would like to ask you two for a favor," he pleaded. "Please guard the two mountain passes outside Old Ox Mountain, the one to the west and the one to the east."

"Those two passes are wider than a ravine, but they aren’t hollows. Once you’re there, you can block them with boulders."

"To the north is a cliff, but just in case, Zhang Ning, An Xiaoxue, you two go guard it."

"I’ll hold the large gap here to the south!"

Gu Zheng enunciated each word, shouting, "I may not be worthy, but I want to try and hold back this horde of Beast Demons and foil the Black Sheep Demon Race’s plot!"

"Hahaha!"

Hearing this, Liangqiu Changkong let out a hearty laugh. "If Gu is determined to hold the pass alone, what’s guarding one ravine to me? Don’t worry. As long as I’m still standing, not a single Demon Fiend will get through the western pass!"

Su Zhenyun glanced at him and also smiled, revealing her dimples. "It is Zhenyun’s honor to be able to assist Gu."

"Thank you."

Gu Zheng bowed to them both. "Then I’ll leave the western and eastern passes to you two!"

"No need to be so polite, Gu. I’m heading to the west now." Liangqiu Changkong gave a small wave, then pushed off the tips of his toes and shot off westward at high speed.

"Zhenyun will go east."

Su Zhenyun cupped her fists, turned in the other direction, and quickly vanished with her large, snow-white cat.

"Chief..."

Zhang Ning and An Xiaoxue started to say something, but Gu Zheng cut them off with a raised hand. "Save the extra words for later. For now, I’m taking you to the north. Stand guard at the bottom of the cliff. If any Demon Fiends jump down and aren’t dead, finish them off."

"Understood!"

"Yes, sir!"

An Xiaoxue and Zhang Ning responded in unison.

WHOOSH—

Gu Zheng grabbed their shoulders, shot into the sky, and flew at top speed toward the cliffs to the north.

Then, he burst forward again, returning to the large gap south of Old Ox Mountain.

At that moment, the void above Old Ox Mountain twisted. Lightning flashed as a tremendous roar shook the heavens. The fabric of space rippled like the surface of water, the collisions creating widening circles of turbulence. Where the impacts were most intense, vortexes formed, churning the air and whipping up violent gales.

WHOOSH—!

RUMBLE!

The earth quaked, and dust filled the air.

Hundreds, even thousands of Long-haired Oxen, Flaming Giant Wolves, Shadow Rhinoceroses, Two-headed Tigers, and thirty-foot-long Three-tailed Pythons swarmed down from Old Ox Mountain, roaring and trampling the ground as they scattered in all directions.

The large gap to the south was the widest, and the greatest number of them poured through it.

Gu Zheng leaped, landing at the very front of these Beast Demons. He drew his Celestial Frost Blade, and as Divine Wondrous power surged, he unleashed a hundred-meter-long Sword Gang that swept inward.

SWOOSH—!

RIP! RIP! RIP!

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Wherever the Sword Gang passed, all the Beast Demons were sliced horizontally in two. Limbs and torsos were separated, littering the ground and blocking the charge of the Demon Fiends behind them, creating a cacophony of collisions.

WHOOSH!

Gu Zheng’s figure flashed. He sheathed his Celestial Frost Blade, activated his Hundred Beasts King Fist, and charged head-on into the buffer zone created by his slash, plunging into the Demon Fiend horde.

He activated his Bronze Elephant Body, bolstering his defenses.

His fists shone, erupting with brilliant light as Gu Zheng smashed head-first into the ranks of Beast Demons.

BOOM—

A single punch obliterated the torso of a Long-haired Ox.

CRACK!

Another punch shattered three Fire Wolves.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

His fists flew relentlessly forward as his body moved rapidly, dashing back and forth.

Punch after punch, he unleashed an unending torrent of blows, obliterating, shattering, and breaking the Long-haired Oxen, Fire Wolves, Shadow Rhinoceroses, Two-headed Tigers, and Three-tailed Pythons.

Of these five types of Beast Demons, the Long-haired Oxen, Fire Wolves, and Shadow Rhinoceroses were the most numerous.

The Two-headed Tigers were the fastest.

The Three-tailed Pythons were the most insidious.

But as Gu Zheng abandoned his defense and charged relentlessly, they were all blown apart, ruptured, or shattered. Not a single corpse was left intact.

At this moment, the power of the Hundred Beasts King Fist was displayed to its absolute fullest.

The mountain passes in the other three directions were either blocked or led to dead ends.

Only the southern gap where Gu Zheng stood was wide and open.

Thus, the thousands, even tens of thousands, of Beast Demons charging down from Old Ox Mountain continuously surged toward the south.

And Gu Zheng, by his strength alone, held back the charge!
