Eren leaned against the tree beside him and stared at his newly earned title for a long time. He had checked his profile countless times today, but he’d only ever cared about his stats.

His gaze always went straight to the exp bar until he leveled up.

He started running with all his might, and this time he heard the sound of a roaring dog closer. It was coming after him fast!

If Eren could look at himself from the outside at that moment, he would realize that he was running faster than a normal person could ever run.

It was easily enough to surpass even the fastest people on Earth. He dashed through the trees like a blur toward the village.

He tried to guess where Emily might be at this hour, as all his fatigue faded with the adrenaline of the fear. Emily was probably around the farms on the north side of the village.

But if Eren was going to run that way, he had to run around the entire village. And if the wolf behind him saw another elf in the outer terrain, it could attack the elf instead.

When Eren saw the village, he decided not to take a wild wolf to a place where there were weak elves around. It was his fault to go into the deep woods again.

It was next to a tree similar to the one he had done push-ups before on Earth. He was afraid to go to a real gym and he tried some weird alternatives as a teenager in the garden.

His hands immediately gripped the thick branch and pulled himself up with all his might. He climbed onto the branch without difficulty. Eren got on his two feet and climbed even higher with the help of other branches. He was feeling strong and unstoppable with new stats.

Eren looked down and saw a single wolf staring at him with intelligent eyes. Even though it was four-legged and impossible to climb a tree, he feel great fear as he looked at those eyes. It looked like the eyes of a human.

"Are you seriously smart or am I seeing delusions due to fear?" Looking at someone’s eyes that want to kill you was uncomfortable and disgusting for an average person.

Half an hour passed and the wolf did nothing but howl occasionally.

Although it tried to climb the tree, it made Eren feel extremely scared. However, as a low-level wolf, it wasn’t advanced enough to climb a tree yet.

"What level is it?" That was the biggest question in Eren’s mind.

He didn’t know if it was possible to learn other creatures’ levels in a way other than their outward appearance. But as he began to understand slimes by their appearance and size, he constantly looked at the wolf with curiosity.

Eren wasn’t ready to die as his adventure in a magical universe had just begun. His whole body and soul were yelling at him to find a way to get out of this situation.

He looked around desperately, making sure the wolf wasn’t calling its friends and waiting for the moment when Emily would notice his absence.

But things started to go wrong.

First, the wolf on the ground disappeared for a few seconds. Just as Eren was about to descend, two wolves suddenly appeared below.

This newcomer also looked a bit young and frail. But Eren was already hesitant to kill a single wolf, and the urge to go down and fight two of them felt absurd...

The possibility of escaping by fighting was completely gone.

Minutes crawled by like torture in the scorching heat. When the number of wolves increased, unease tightened in Eren’s chest, and he climbed higher up the tree.
