The guard captain mustered up his courage and went forward with shaky legs.

"P-please raise your hand up in the air. Y-you are surrounded by us. It is p-prohibited to kill inside the city. P-lease come with us to the Enforcement Hall."

He gulped a mouthful of air due to nervousness. At this moment, he, and all the other guards around him knew that they were not a match with the Elder in front of them.

Still, this was their duty, so they could only endure, and pray to the Gods above that they won’t be the next group that would be massacred.

Meanwhile, seeing such a scene, Miguel could not help but chuckle to himself.

He knew that this would come sooner or later.

Even if he escaped directly and did not wait for their arrival, there was a high chance that he would still be caught as the one who killed the amusement park entertainers.

Hence, he did not escape and confronted the guards directly.

The two followed behind him, seemingly devoid of emotion.

They did not even take a glance at the guards that had their weapons pointing straight at them, as they sat and occupied each side of Miguel.

The guards closed in, yet maintained a distance that they thought was safe enough.

Seeing no movements from them, the guard captain finally released a sigh as he ordered one of his subordinate to report everything back in a hurry.

HIs gaze lingered on the three figures sitting leisurely in the wide chair, before shifting to the scene akin to hell on the other side of the place.

The guard captain sighed, not knowing what to feel.

Murder was normal in this world, but he did not expect to see so many decapitated bodies inside the Blazing City.

The perpetrator did not even try to escape, and was sitting leisurely.

He did not know if this was arrogance, or confidence, or maybe both.

What he clearly knew, though, was the identity of this person sitting leisurely in the chair with two women, or perhaps, two beasts by his side.

Time passed in the blink of an eye. The guards grew restless as the atmosphere grew cold and horrifying.

Silence pervaded the other. No one dared to speak, and no one dared to breathe too loudly. All of them was afraid of getting beheaded if they so make a commotion in this tranquil of a night.

Fortunately, the tense atmosphere did not last too long as the sounds of galloping horses echoed in the distance.

The guard’s expression lit up one after the other.

"The City Lord is here," the guard captain stated under his breath as he looked at the arriving figure of the man who controlled Blazing City.

Miguel, looking at the familiar figure, had a smile on his face. He did not get up, and remained sitting in a leisurely manner.

Edith was leaning on his left shoulder, while Aaliyah was shy to do so, still moved closer toward him to feel his warmth.

Not of them showed any strong reaction toward the arrival of the City Lord, the most important person in every city.

Meanwhile, the moment he arrived at the scene, Cardino’s face immediately changed into one of anger and shock.

Although the guard earlier had already told him in advance, seeing the scene in person still made his hair stood on end, 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦

’How brutal,’ he thought with a frown as his gaze traveled toward the supposed culprit of the crime on the other side of the street.

Although it was a new mask, Cardino would not mistake this person that he currently hated the most in Blazing City.

Cardino seemed to have lost the ability to speak.

The previous time, he was already planning to expel Elder Journey in the hopes of getting the villa for himself.

The murder around his villa was the opportunity, yet, it was proven that he was not the culprit, hence, he was able to get away in victory against him.

Cardino’s mind worked in overdrive as he immediately realized that this was an opportunity.

With many witnesses around, he knew that Elder Journey was truly done this time around. He would not be able to deny being the one who did this murder.

After the incident a week ago, Cardino had actually been persuaded by his good friend to lay low and not bother the elder anymore.

Today, he can swear to the heavens that he truly did not do anything, and that it was Elder Journey who dug a grave for himself.

Cardino did not think that the opportunity would come sooner than expected.

His hand slid down toward his pocket, pressed the button on the token to notify the other elders of the Red Family to gather there immediately.

Knowing Elder Journey’s strength, the last thing that Cardino wanted to happen right now was for him to go berserk, or to escape under his watch.

Although it would be better if he truly escaped, Cardino still felt that he should be imprisoned in the deepest part of the prison dungeon for the gruesome crime he had just committed.

After pressing the emergency button, Cardino wore the most amiable smile on his face as he got off his horse.

He walked toward Miguel and maintained a safe distance before saying with a natural wry smile on his face, "Elder Journey, it looks like you are regarded as one of the suspects this time again."

Seeing his expression, Miguel tilted his head and did not know what to say.
