Chapter 196: Wipe Out

[Shadow Step] was used repeatedly by Miguel.

His figures emerged and submerged into the shadows as he traveled under the light of the moon.

There was no need to worry about energy consumption. At this moment, he already have over a hundred Origin Energy drops floating inside his Inner World.

Even if he used [Shadow Steps] a thousand times, his Origin Energy drops would still not be exhausted.

With how fast he was utilizing the skill, Miguel arrived at the destination approximately ten minutes later.

This place was full of tents and stalls of various sizes and colors.

In his line of sight was a massive red and white tent. It was very massive and stood out among the rest of the tents around it.

It was the biggest in the area and it was situated at the center, surrounded by various small tents.

This was one of the many large scale amusement parks in Blazing City.

Circus and all kinds of establishments were present around the area.

As it was a day of rest, the place was deserted and was not packed with people. The few who were loitering around were the workers and the entertainers.

Of those who were moving around, the most common appearances were people wearing gloves and clown make ups.

The information he got from the information broker indicated that this was the real base of the Dark Snake Assassin group.

The rumor about them having no real base was completely false.

The Dark Snake Assassins pretend to be entertainers and circus members on the surface while they accept assassination and various dirty works in secret.

This whole amusement park was their base, and no one knew of it.

This was supposed to be a hidden secret that anyone should not know. However, how could a group such as this have true loyalty toward each other?

The one who sold this information to the information broker might even be a Dark Snake Assassin member itself.

According to the information he bought, there were originally a total of one hundred twenty seven members of this assassin group.

At the present however, there were only ninety seven of them left.

The leader, known as Thousand Snake Liam, was rumored to be a ruthless and strong individual.

He was an Elite Rank Summoner with a Silver Grade grimoire. His Innate Beast was the Thousand Dark Snake. It was stated in the information that the beast was deadly and can transform into hundreds and even thousands of snakes.

It was also stated that the last information about it was that it was already at Level 4 Silver Grade.

Aside from him, there were also another ten summoners in the Dark Assassin group. Although all of them were just Apprentices and only had Bronze Grade grimoires, their strength should not be underestimated, as they possess various abilities and some even have Innate Skills.

All of these were listed in detail in the information he bought from the information broker.

The gold coins he spent were indeed worth it.

As he approached the biggest tent at the center, one person wearing a clown mask and costume suddenly intercepted him.

There was an exaggerated smile on his face as he waved his gloved hand in front of Miguel exaggeratedly.

"Oh my, oh my. Are you a lost soul, esteemed guest? The park doesn’t open til tomorrow noon. You should return, or perhaps, do you want to sleep and wait for tomorrow’s opening?" The clown stated as he jumped side to side.

His words and movements were very annoying to look at.

It was as though he was posing as an annoying clown, not a funny one.

Miguel did not want to waste looking at such an annoying guy, though.

He directly summoned his grimoire and two streaks of light immediately descended out of it.

Seeing the grimoire and the two people appearing out of thin air, the clown’s eyes immediately contracted in shock.

Realizing that the person in front of him was not a lost soul as he had initially thought, a sinister glint appeared on his eyes as his hands swiftly moved to pull out two sharp throwing daggers in his exaggerated packet.

Aaliyah and Edith wearing their signature masks materialized out of thin air right beside Miguel.

Their eyes regained their clarity at the next instant and immediately realized what was going on.

Edith’s hand was already holding an exquisite sword, newly forged by Aaliyah.

This was a sword that had not tasted blood yet.

This should be the first.

Edith’s figure disappeared and reappeared right in front of the clown in an instant.

Without wasting any time, Edith made a simple slash toward his neck, intending to end his life right there and then.

The clown’s eyes widened in disbelief. His mind seemed to have predicted what was going to happen next as his head leaned back to dodge the incoming strike.

However, he obviously underestimated the speed of this strike.

Swissh!

The sound of tearing air resounded in the clow’s eyes.

At the next moment, his vision seemed to have turned upside down.

Confusion filled his eyes. At this moment, he still did not realize that his head had already been separated from his neck.

Even until his consciousness faded away, the clown was still oblivious to the fact that he was already dead.

His body dropped to the ground right beside his rolling head.

Miguel stepped over his dead body as he continued forward along with Aaliyah, and Edith, who just flicked the sword to get rid of the blood that had stuck on it.

"Intermediate Warrior Martial Artist. Not bad for the first blood," he muttered as his gaze landed on the people wearing various kinds of ridiculous costumes in front of them.

All of them had a vigilant look on their faces.

Having witnessed the murder of their comrade, they were obviously prepared to welcome the intruder pleasantly.

Each of them held their weapon, killing intent flash across their eyes as they looked at Miguel and his group.

"I don’t know who you are, but you will regret doing what you just did," the one in the middle, wearing a dark beast costume stated with a contemptuous smile on his face.

Whoever dared to provoke the Dark Snake Assassin Group would not have a pleasant end.

"Ohh? Someone is still ignorant of my identity here in Blazing City? I thought the Dark Snake Assassin group knew better," Miguel stated as he waved his hands in the air.

At that moment, Edith used [Flash Step] and arrived instantly in front of the group.

Multiple [Fire Arrow’s] and [Fire Ball’s] materialized around Aaliyah. Her gaze narrowed and focused to the one in the middle who just spoke such arrogant words

Meanwhile, seeing that the intruders were already prepared to take action, the Dark Snake Assassin group was also not idle.

The one in the middle gave the order to attack, while he himself closed his eyes to summon his grimoire.

Unfortunately, that was the last thought he had before his mind went blank.

A few seconds later, Miguel, having wiped out the group outside, finally arrived in front of the biggest tent.

In front of him, the remaining members of the Dark Snake Assassin group had already gathered to confront the intruder.

Miguel took a cursory glance in the crowd and realized that most had considerable strength.

Only a few of them were mortals while the rest mostly consist of ranked martial artists.

This aligned with the information he got from the broker.

’Liam is not among them. Did he escape?’ Miguel thought to himself after realizing that Thousand Snake Liam, the leader of the Dark Snake Assassin group, was not present in the crowd in front of him.

Considering that he was an Elite Rank summoner and a Silver Grade grimoire user, he probably realized that he was not Elder Journey’s match, hence, he decided to escape in advance.

’A pity,’ Miguel thought while shaking his head.

He had already rushed here in hope that he could catch him off guard. He did not expect that Liam would still be able to escape.

Anyway, he had already made himself clear this time around.

Anyone who dared to have designs on him won’t have a pleasant end.

Now wanting to waste any more time, Miguel waved his hand and ordered both the ladies to attack.

There was not a trace of pity in his eyes as the two ladies reaped the lives of the Dark Snake Assassin.

If morality was an issue, they were obviously on the higher ground.

These were a group of people who kill and assassinate to make a fortune. How could anyone take pity on them?

Besides, Miguel and the two were not doing this for such a fragile thing as morality either.

The Dark Snake Assassin group tried to assassinate him twice, how could he let it go just like that?

A tooth for a tooth, as they say.

A few minutes later, only three people remained alive of the group that decided to confront them.
