Chapter 179: Intruder

If the World’s Will was not treating everyone the same way, then the Martial Artists would not have developed to such an extent by now.

After he was done reading the book, Miguel realized that the author only had a name and no surname.

He did not put this to mind anymore as he proceeded to read the other books one by one.

The next book he read was just general knowledge regarding beasts. Although he had already read something similar before, Miguel did not mind reading another one as it could still provide him some insight. Reading one book about something doesn’t mean that he already mastered the topic anyways.

With all of his attention being focused on reading, Miguel did not realize that a few hours had already gone by.

As they don’t need to eat three times a day, Miguel continued to read without feeling the need to eat.

Unknowingly, it was already deep in the night.

If not for the fact that his senses were alerted, Miguel would have continued to read without stopping.

Edith and Aaliyah seemed to have been able to detect the intruder as well.

Both of them looked in the same direction together with Miguel as they felt the intruder with hostile intention entering the villa silently. They were only a few seconds from him.

Miguel and the other two realized that the intruder actually has some strength to back them up. Perhaps this was the reason why the intruder dared to enter the villa knowing that he was here.

Miguel looked at the other two as he sent orders telepathically.

At this moment, the intruder was still not aware that he was already discovered.

Using his [Divine Sense], Miguel locked into the intruder’s position and realized that he was not alone.

There was another creature at the top of his head. Although vague, Miguel could feel that it was quite a strong one.

Miguel’s figure soon disappeared into the shadow as he shuttled toward the intruder silently.

Unaware that he was already being targeted, the intruder slowly creeped toward the master’s room with unusual familiarity to the villa.

A frown emerged on Miguel’s face; he directly appeared right behind the intruder as he was about to enter the master’s room.

As though sensing his presence, the intruder immediately turned around and launched an attack toward Miguel.

However, Miguel casually blocked his attack with his arm as he punched the intruder with a strong force in the chest. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

The intruder was not able to react in time. His figure was about to shoot backward from the force of Miguel’s punch, but Miguel quickly grabbed the intruder’s shirt, not allowing them to crash to the door and break it.

After forcefully stopping the momentum, Miguel did not stop and immediately grabbed a hold of the intruder’s neck.

The creature on his head also made a move at the next moment. It let out an ear piercing shriek as it shrouded the intruder’s body with a black fog.

As it did so, Miguel felt the presence of the intruder disappearing. The intruder’s figure quickly disappeared from his view, as he gradually felt that he was slipping out of his hold.

Miguel knew that this was the creature’s ability so he did not panic in the slightest.

His [Divine Sense] could not be easily fooled by such skill either as Miguel could still ’see’ the intruder even when he was already shrouded in the thick black fog produced by the creature.

With his right hand grabbing the man’s neck, his left soon traveled in swift speed and grabbed a hold of the beast.

Pulling it out from the man’s head, Miguel smashed the beast directly to the floor. A loud sound soon echoed as the impact made the beast tremble and scream in pain.

The beast was able to recover for a brief period of time. It was just about to hop away, however, Miguel did not allow it to as he stomped on it quite hard, pinning it to the ground with one foot.

All along, Miguel did not use any lethal moves to end their lives quickly. As someone who can contend toe to toe with a Gold Grade Beast, it would be easy for Miguel to kill the intruder right off the bat.

As he wanted to obtain some information, Miguel decided to restrain his strength and just made a move casually.

With him grabbing the man’s neck, and without the help of his beast, this Adept Martial Artist and a Crystal Summoner struggled for breath as his eyes showed a hint of fear and despair.

"Who sent you here?" Miguel asked casually. His tone was calm and collected, and not even an ounce of annoyance could be detected from it.

However, it was this kind of tone that made the intruder despair.

He was very confident in coming here earlier due to his contracted beast. He was the best and famous for his silent assasination precisely because of his beast.

Upon coming here, he was confident that he would succeed.

He had already managed to fool a Master Martial Artist’s senses before so he did not think that this time was different.

Alas, how wrong could he be?

It was only at this moment that he realized how terrifying the new Elder of the Red Family was.

Alas, it was already too late.

Hearing the question, he merely smiled and did not answer.

In his mind, he was already dead. Why must a dead man talk?

A good assassin was a silent assassin.

He was about to bite and consume the poison pill when Miguel sensed his intention and broke his neck directly with a strong grip.

The man turned limp as Miguel dropped him to the floor.

Miguel dropped to his knees and searched the belongings of the man.

While searching, he saw the mark on his hand and immediately realized where he originated from.

The Dark Snakes Assassin group that was said to be quite active in Blazing City. This was also the same assassin group that was hired to kill Erika and the others.

Miguel did not know the motive behind the man for being here. Whether it was for revenge for his comrade or whether it was another commision, Miguel did not know.

However, one thing was for certain. It seemed like he needed to investigate this assassin group earlier than expected. They were getting annoying.

A while later, Miguel also found the Bronze Grade Crystal that was used to summon the beast.

As the summoner had already died, the beast automatically returned to the Bronze Crystal, waiting for another person to bind with the crystal and summon it.

Unlike the beasts of Grimoire Summoners, the beasts contained within a Summoning Crystal do not dissipate into particilesnor die when their user dies.

Since Miguel was a summoner and could not use a Summoning Crystal, he intended to break the Bronze Grade Summoning Crystal and release the beasts before killing it to gain some additional experience points.

With his strength and skills, Miguel easily broke the Bronze Grade Crystal and released the beast that could release the block fog.

It’s appearance was quite unique. It resembled a ghost from children’s stories and it looked like a floating dark clothing. There were only two holes at the upper part of its body, probably its eyes.

It was also quite small compared to other beasts of the same grade, it was only a little bigger compared to an infant’s head.

Miguel raised his hand and prepared to launch [Precise Strike] to kill it directly. However, something strange happened at the next second.

Seeing that it was about to get killed, the beast with a strange appearance actually prostrated in front of him without hesitation.

It even let out a strange crying sound, as though it was pleading for mercy.

Miguel tilted his head in amusement seeing its actions.

This was the first time he witnessed a low-grade beast behave this way.

As it was now free of the crystal’s binding, it should have reverted back to its savage personality. Normally, it would either attack him, or flee in fear.

However, instead of doing that, it actually pleaded for mercy directly.

Miguel thought for a moment as he stood up from the floor.

He glanced at the beasts and stated, "Why should I spare you?"

As though understanding his words, the beast stood up from its prostrating position as it waved its little arms around the air while letting out strange and muffled sounds.

"Interesting," Miguel thought to himself as he looked at the beast’s actions.

Although Miguel could not fully understand what it was saying, he could tell that it was trying to explain to him the benefits of sparing its life.

"Since you are sincere, I’ll spare you for now. However, I won’t contact you since I don’t want to waste a grimoire page just for you. You are quite an intelligent little beast. If you want to live, then you better follow my orders from now on obediently, understand?"

The beasts nodded its head frantically. It even moved it’s little hand above its eyes, as though wiping the imaginary sweats that dripped down off its forehead.

"Right, you guys can come out now."
