Chapter 167: Abandon

Timbaru trembled in fear as the person stood in front of him wearing a dark outfit akin to that of an assassin. He was holding a thing wrapped in back clothing, probably a dagger for killing.

Even at a distance of two meters, Timbaru could still feel the intensity of the aura of the other party, making him almost wet his pants in fear.

As a famous doctor and healer who often healed martial artists, contracted beasts, and summoners alike, Timbaru had long faced and been in the presence of the behemoths in Blazing City.

However, this was the first time that he had been so scared of facing such a strong person. He knew that he was facing a very strong individual, much stronger than the people and beasts he had treated here before. His aura was even stronger than that of Orman, who was just here a few moments ago.

"I saw Orman exiting your house earlier; have you treated him already? "

His voice was raspy and heavy, like that of a person who had something stuck inside their throat.

Hearing his question, Timbaru immediately shook his head.

"N-no! I don’t have the capability to treat a heavy injury such as that at all," he explained in a trembling voice.

"Good! This means that I can now take revenge for what they did to my friends a few years ago."

He stated that his figure disappeared like smoke, leaving Timbaru’s face without any trace.

Only when he confirmed that the other party was truly gone did Timbaru heave a sigh of relief.

Wiping off the cold sweat that rolled down his neck, Timbaru looked around before summoning his condor for company.

He hugged it tightly as he muttered, "Orman is probably finished now. I did not expect that right after he offended Elder Journey, another person with a grudge actually came knocking on his doorsteps to take advantage of his current situation."

...

Meanwhile, Miguel shifted in and out of the shadows as he followed Orman and Sendal’s trail.

He purposely appeared in front of Timbaru to divert attention. He could not let the common people in Blazing City know that it was Journey who did it to Orman. Though he knew for a fact that smart people would still link the matter to him, this wouldn’t affect anything other than the smart people themselves. They will probably think even more that they could not casually provoke him and that they would surely watch their steps around him.

As he followed Orman, who was pulling Sendal, he noticed that they were gradually leaving the busy area of the city. After a few minutes of following, Miguel saw that Orman had led Sendal into a dilapidated corner of Blazing City; it was near the wall and was near the market that Miguel had been to earlier.

This area was very secluded, and people rarely came here. It was pretty dark, and with the thick bushes and tall trees, city lights rarely penetrated this place.

Miguel did not know what they were doing here.

Hiding his aura with [Shadow Steps], he blended into the shadows and emerged behind a tree not far away from the two of them. With his [Divine Sense] he noticed that their lips were moving. He closed his eyes and focused his hearing, trying to hear what they were talking about.

"W-where are we, Lord Orman?" Sendal’s shivering and tired voice resounded. Feeling the quietness and the cold air that blew toward him, he knew that they were no longer in the city that he was familiar with.

Orman merely snorted and did not say anything. He looked around, and after confirming that there was no one around, he pulled out the saber that was on his back and immediately cut off one of Sendal’s arms.

His movements were swift, and right before Sendal could scream, Orman dropped the saber to the ground and immediately stuffed his mouth with a dirty piece of clothing.

A cold and sinister smile flashed across Orman’s face as he looked at the terrified Sendal."You no longer have any use for me without your Innate Skill. I don’t have the liberty to take care of you anymore, so why don’t you just die and help with my ploy one last time?" 𝑓𝑟𝑒𝘦𝓌𝑒𝑏𝑛𝑜𝘷𝑒𝘭.𝒸𝘰𝑚

Knowing that Sendal no longer had any use, Orman planned to kill him here, near ’Journey’s’ villa, and pin the death of Sendal to him. This would surely ruin his reputation in Blazing City, and no one would want to interact with someone like him at all. This was only the start of his plan.

After ruining his reputation, he would slowly turn everyone’s back to Journey, make the Red Family revoke his status, and let him leave Blazing City. If he could, he would also invite some of his friends later and deal with Journey.

Even though his summon was pretty strong, if they were besieged by multiple Master Martial Artists, even an experienced Gold Grade Beast would fall.

Orman reached out his hand and clenched Sendal’s neck. He was now prepared to end his life when he suddenly felt shivers down his spine.

Without any thought, he dropped Sendal to the ground and jumped away from his position.

When he looked back, he realized that a person clad in dark clothing was already standing where he was previously.

"I can’t have you kill him," Miguel stated with a flat tone while looking at the sprawling Sendal.

"Who are you?"Orman glared at him in anger. His voice and expression were still sinister as he took a subtle glance at the saber that he had dropped to the ground.

Not wanting to waste any words with him, Miguel did not bother replying as he raised his foot in mid-air, as though he were taking a step toward Orman.

Orman, who saw this thought that he was about to attack, also made a move and slid toward his saber.

However, what he did not expect was that Miguel had actually not moved from his position.

When he managed to grab a hold of his saber and saw that he still did not move from his position, a smirk appeared on his face as he brandished the saber toward his opponent with an unstoppable force.

The next moment, though, Orman’s face lost color when his attack was stopped by the other with the same foot he had raised earlier.
