I Can Contract Beauties-Chapter 164: The Choice Is Yours
Miguel and Edith returned to the villa a few minutes later.
There, they saw some men moving the materials they had just bought earlier.
As the villa was a known property of the Red Family, no one had designs on the materials, even if they were left there for a long time.
Upon seeing them, the worker that was talking with the cashier earlier went toward them and told them to review if all the items they bought were successfully delivered.
Miguel took a quick glance and did not find anything missing from his purchase.
After the worker and the other men left, Miguel stored all the materials inside his grimoire as he and Edith went to the underground basement once again.
After finalizing their renovation goal, Miguel did not waste any more, and time began to work.
He had been a handyman during his travels in his previous life. It was merely because he wanted to experience the work of normal people, so he studied the ins and outs of some normal occupations and even worked to be like them for a good few years.
He mixed the cement and the sand and began to form a partition at one corner. It would be here where Aaliyah forges the items in the future. Due to the nature of her work, Miguel especially provided a lot of space for her to work on.
With his strength, speed, precise movements, and skills such as [Psychokinesis], it did not take long for the room to come into view.
Inside, he made a cubicle and a furnace that directly connected to one of the ventilation outlets outside to avoid a sudden rise in temperature inside the room.
He made other adjustments as well after taking Aaliyah’s words into account.
It was already nighttime when he was done. Since Aaliyah did not want a fancy forging area, Miguel did not make too many details and just created a room that was entirely for forging.
Edith wiped the sweat that rolled down his cheek as Miguel looked at the finished room with a little pride in himself.
’It looks like I haven’t gotten rusty,’ he thought to himself with a smile on his face.
"Shall we eat or do you still have something to do?" Edith asked.
Miguel has worked hard for the entire day, and she was worried that he might be hungry already for working too long.
Miguel thought for a moment before saying, "In a while, I’ll break through first."
He had already felt that he could already break through in his Cleansing Realm after his dual-cultivation session with Edith earlier.
There were now a total of 135 Origin Energy drops floating above his Inner World, and he knew that it was more than what he needed for the cleansing.
"You’re gonna breakthrough, again? Isn’t it too soon? Won’t it affect your foundation or anything?" Edith asked worriedly.
Miguel had already given her some general knowledge about cultivation when he explained to her about the dual cultivation method or technique.
She knew that breaking through too soon might affect one’s foundation, making them have problems with their cultivation in the future.
This problem was not common in Wild Beast World, though. After all, the World’s Will helps the summoners when they rank up, while the Martial Artist takes too long to upgrade their rank if they were not talented enough.
The notion of having a problem leveling up was a problem that had never existed in Wild Beast World.
Edith and Aaliyah already knew that Miguel was using another method to get stronger. He doesn’t only rely on the Summoner power system; he has his own power system that rivals, if not much better, than Martial Artists.
She and Aaliyah actually tried using one of the cultivation methods Miguel provided, but they soon found out that the two of them could not cultivate at all. They just could not absorb the Grimoire Summoning Energy that was always present in midair.
In this world, only the grimoires have the capability to do such a thing. Miguel’s case was quite puzzling for the two of them, but they just thought that it was his talent that allowed him to do it this way.
After hearing her question full of concern, Miguel just chuckled and told her not to worry about it.
If he was using a low-grade cultivation technique, and if he has a low talent for cultivation, then breaking through too soon would surely affect his foundation.
But since he was the exact opposite of those, Miguel has truly nothing to worry about. Not to mention, Miguel was still at the cleansing stage, and from what he understood, it was in this stage that his body would slowly adapt to Origin Energy.
Only when his body transforms into something that can truly accept Origin Energy will he be able to manipulate it freely, even outside his body.
After reassuring Edith, Miguel did not waste any more time, as he immediately sat on the ground to begin the cleansing process.
As Aaliyah requested that she wanted to see him breakthrough next time, he summoned her as she and Edith sat in front of him to observe the process.
Aaliyah looked at his naked upper body with a red face; she felt hot for some reason, seeing how gorgeous his body was. It was not lean or overly muscular. It seemed to be perfectly molded to be in the middle of being thin and muscular. It was simply breathtaking to look at.
Even Edith, who had already seen such a scene a lot of times, still had her heart breathing like crazy, especially since Miguel had his eyes closed, allowing her to see just how gentle and handsome his face was.
The two of them gritted their teeth and forcefully held themselves back, especially Edith. They just sat there and observed obediently.
A few minutes passed by in the blink of an eye. Edith and Aaliyah’s eyes were suddenly attracted when they saw black liquids coming out of Miguel’s pores.
"These must be the impurities that he was talking about before," Edith stated.
It then started coming out of his nose, and then his ears, and then it began coming out all over his body.
Although the amount was miniscule, almost comparable to sweat, Edith and Aaliyah could still not help but pinch their noses due to the awful smell that wafted in the air after the impurities started coming out of his body. It was so awful to the point that they decided to back away a few meters from where he was sitting.
A realization suddenly dawned upon Edith: "Wait, if he breaks through now, won’t that mean that he would surpass us in terms of raw strength?"
The realization struck Edith and Aaliyah. A foreboding feeling rose inside them as the thought of Miguel not needing them anymore terrified them a lot, especially Edith, who had been accustomed to being around him during these past few days.
Aaliyah’s face was also full of sadness. She could rarely accompany him due to the time restriction; now, with his strength surpassing hers, won’t that mean that she won’t be summoned for a long time?
She recalled that tortoise that Miguel contracted weeks ago. When was the last time Miguel summoned it? That tortoise was quite pitiful, and Aaliyah doesn’t want to be neglected by Miguel, just like he neglects the tortoise.
A summoner surpassing the strength of their summon was unheard of for the two of them. The two of them did not know how to handle this change, and they didn’t know how it would affect them in the long run.
In the end, she could only sigh in regret: "It can’t be helped. He rarely fights during these past few days, and even when he does, the enemies are so weak that we can hardly gain experience points from them."
"Not to mention, most of the time, you’re the only one he summons to fight. If he surpasses us in strength now, won’t that mean that he would no longer need our help and would just neglect us like what he did to that poor tortoise?" she added with a pout. A hint of jealousy was contained in her voice.
It was captured by Edith, and she could not help but scold her. "Ali, what are you talking about? Didn’t the master already explain that he needs to accumulate knowledge first to formulate a good plan for our direction in the future? Summoning us from the dead is already unheard of."
"Master has no blueprint for him to follow to make us grow stronger aside from experience points. If he forcefully raises our strength with just this method, there will come a time where we will stagnate."
"You don’t want the time to come when we will just be stuck in Gold Grade, right? As a talented Summoner in your time, you do know that a Gold Grade Beast is not even considered strong in the grand scheme of things in this world, right? "
"Master is working hard for us; how dare you try to blame him? So, what if he surpasses us for now? We can just work harder in the future to catch up to him after he figures everything out."
"We both know that he will be able to achieve it sooner or later, right?"
As Edith reprimanded, Aaliyah could only bow her head in shame and realization. Edith had always been frank in her words. She did not hold back as she reprimanded Aaliyah.
"I-I’m sorry," she muttered in a low voice as she felt ashamed for thinking that way about Miguel.
Edith sighed and patted her shoulder’s lightly, "I know what you are worried about. We have accompanied each other for quite some time already. I don’t blame you for thinking that way, actually, as you only had a limited time with master every day."
"However, please understand that our master doesn’t see us as just a tool for fighting. He values what we feel and knows that we have our own emotions as well. Even if he surpasses us in strength, I highly doubt if there’s anything that will change in his treatment toward us."
"Also, you do realize that he is only waiting for you to make up your mind, right? In the end, the choice is yours and yours alone."
