I Became the Villain's Trainer-Chapter 73
Chapter 73
Even without their assurances, Alexa wasn’t too worried. After all, this was Thersion. No one here could harm Ysildus and Terrun. And even Alexa herself.
“Let’s head over there!”
Alexa tugged Ysildus and Terrun along. The place she pointed to was filled with cute trinkets. In no time, all three of them were lost in the crowd. Thankfully, the festival was in full swing. The streets were packed with people. Children were playing around the fountain, splashing water, and joyful sounds erupted from all around. Alexa watched it all with a sense of wonder.
All of this had started from just one word from Alexa. As she had wished, people were laughing and enjoying the festival, even those exclusive wolves gathered together.
‘This… I did this…’
Alexa giggled with delight as she picked up a flower-shaped trinket from a stall.
“What do you think of this?”
“It’s pretty!”
“They’re all pretty!”
Terrun and Ysildus shouted, trying to outdo each other. Alexa shook her head. This is why I needed a girlfriend. Boys just didn’t get it. Alexa bought three flower ornaments and placed one on each of their heads, including her own.
“Huh?”
“Does it suit me?”
Terrun asked, touching his head curiously, while Ysildus smile cutely and asked.
“They both look great. Pretty even. It’s a set.”
“A set?”
“If it’s with Alexa, I’m all for it.”

Just as she was about to pass by the stall with her cute, obedient wolves in tow, Alexa stopped. She glanced around the stall and bought a bunch of bracelets and hairpins made of beads.
“Why did you get those?”
“They’re gifts. Not everyone from the castle could come out to see this.”
“You’re so kind, Alexa.”
Ysildus’ blue eyes narrowed gently. Alexa was small. But the heart within her was enormous. She took care of things that didn’t need to be taken care of. It was that side of Alexa that had wolves completely smitten with her. When it was said that Alexa was nearing the age to debut in society, Carlisle started building a new hall.
Visten was remodeling an unused hall on the first floor for Alexa’s lessons.
Essellia was busy buying all kinds of frills, lace, and jewels to tailor the dress Alexa would wear on her debut day. She had been talking daily with the most sought-after seamstress in Thersion.
Violeta was searching for a white deer to use its leather for the shoes Alexa would wear. White deer leather was known for its durability and beauty.
All of this was a change sparked by Alexa. Just a while ago, it would have been hard to imagine the Grand Duchy being this lively. Among them, Alexa shone so brightly that it was almost blinding.
“Oh, look over there!”
Ysildus followed Alexa’s gaze. In the sky, fireworks were bursting in brilliant colors. The sight of the fireworks lighting up the sky, with Alexa smiling brightly beneath them, was beautiful.
Visten and Carlisle had spared no expense on this festival. On one side of the festival grounds, they had even set up a massive incense altar. Everyone attending the festival passed by it to pay their respects to those who had lost their lives in the war.
Ysildus didn’t care much about any of that. What mattered was that Alexa was enjoying this moment.
“…It’s really beautiful, isn’t it?”
Terrun and Ysildus nodded in response to Alexa’s question. But the two of them weren’t looking at the fireworks – they were only looking at Alexa. Their eyes met. They both thought the same thing. Another wolf here had also fallen under Alexa’s spell. Ysildus smiled slightly.
For now, he had no intention of doing anything to Terrun. As long as Terrun knew his place and didn’t entertain any foolish dreams about Alexa, that is. Terrun bared his teeth but did nothing more. He wasn’t foolish enough to cause trouble where Alexa could see. Ysildus placed a finger to his lips. Terrun clicked his tongue and turned away.
The festival was growing deeper. The sun had just begun to set. The festival street was about to enter a new phase. The sweet fragrance meticulously planned by Carlisle and Visten began to waft through the air. Ysildus, Terrun, and Alexa had to return before the night grew too deep. Together with Essellia, who had bought all the weapons she fancied.
“Why do we have to go back?”
Ysildus asked innocently. Essellia realized that her son was teasing her. He was smiling brightly, pretending to know nothing.
“Children don’t need to know that.”
Essellia answered kindly. Visten and Carlisle had carefully prepared the night to spark something between the young men and women. When it came to work, they were a well-coordinated team, especially if it was for Thersion. The deepening night seemed to hum in the ears of the wolves.

As soon as Alexa returned to the Grand Castle, the Head Maid swiftly immersed her in warm water. She then poured in milk, gently massaging Alexa’s skin to bring out its glow. The skin that had been exposed to the cold air quickly regained its vitality.
“Did you have fun?”
By now, Alexa was used to being bathed by someone else and nodded in response.
“Yes! It was really fun.”
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself. You weren’t cold, were you?”
“No, it was actually warm.”
Of course, it was.
Thanks to the high body temperature of the wolves that surrounded Alexa, she likely didn’t feel the cold at all. The maids listened with smiling faces as Alexa chattered about everything she had seen and heard. Watching her try to express something with her small hands was just too adorable.
The Head Maid asked softly, “How about a meal?”
“I ate so much of this and that, I’m not really hungry.”
“But you should have something nutritious...”
“I had a lot of meat.”
Alexa emphasized again. If they insisted on giving her something else, she might end up bedridden like last time. In the end, the Head Maid gave up.
“You said you’d be going to the festival for a while?”
“Yes! There’s so much to see. How did they prepare all of this in such a short time? Tomorrow, we’re going to watch a play.”
“That sounds like a good idea.”
The Head Maid patiently listened to Alexa’s stories. Alexa liked her. It reminded her of how her mother used to listen to her chatter the day before, which made her feel even more fond of the Head Maid.
After finishing her bath, Alexa laid out the things she had bought at the festival. Looking at them now, they seemed rather unimpressive. But what really matters is the thought behind them. Alexa started handing them out to the maids one by one.
“What is this?”
“Um... it’s not anything special, just a token of my appreciation.”
“Appreciation? How sweet.”
“Thank you for everything, and I hope to continue relying on you.”
The maids burst into laughter at Alexa’s words. It wasn’t much, but the sentiment behind it was warm. Alexa was grateful even for the ordinary tasks they did.
“We’re grateful too.”
The Head Maid spoke on behalf of everyone.
“Thanks to you, the Grand Castle feels warmer.”
Alexa blushed. She wasn’t used to receiving such compliments. In truth, she didn’t know how long she would be staying here. It wasn’t something she could decide on her own, and Ysildus’ separation anxiety still hadn’t been resolved. However long she stayed, Alexa hoped things would remain just as they were now. With that thought, she flashed a bright smile.
“Oh, by the way, where’s Selina?”
Selina was nowhere to be seen, and there was one accessory left. The Head Maid answered with a curious expression.
“Is that for Selina?”
“Yes. I wanted to give her a gift too.”
This wasn’t because Alexa was naïve. It would have been strange not to give Selina anything when she had given something to everyone else.... Besides, hadn’t they agreed to make peace with each other?
‘Is this what being naïve is like?’
Alexa quickly shook her head. Being naïve over a simple trinket? The Head Maid responded.
“Selina will be back soon. She went to fetch a new blanket.”
“A new blanket?”
“They say it will get colder starting today. We can’t have you catching a cold. We’re going to switch to the new blankets we just made.”
Alexa glanced over at her bed. The blanket, which was quilted with goose feathers and cotton for maximum warmth, was already there. Something even warmer? She was curious but decided to leave it to the Head Maid, trusting her judgment in such matters.
“I see. Haha.”
Not long after, Selina returned. Alexa handed her the accessory, and Selina accepted it with a delighted expression. As expected, the Head Maid watched this scene with displeasure. Lately, Selina had been behaving quite meekly, but could a wolf’s nature really change? It would have been more believable to say that Selina had been reborn.
