I Became a Nobody in My Favourite Novel-Chapter 25: “Flashback” :4
Chapter 25 - “Flashback” :4
Riven looked at Emil with a look of confusion, then he looked at the boy who was just sitting quietly near the window.
Alaric Veylen.
He narrowed his eyes a bit. That kid hadn't spoken more than a few words since they started their classes. That kid just had a couple of friends. He's always sitting alone, always lost in his thoughts.
Riven whispered under his breath. "He's just a quiet kid, why do Emil wants me to keep an eye on him?"
He leaned back a bit and folded his arms, exhaled slowly. But still—Riven had now known Emil for a while, that he could tell when Emil was truly concerned or not. And this time, it didn't seem like Emil was just suspicious.
"Fine!" Riven said to himself. "I will keep an eye on this brat. Just in case something goes out of hand."
Kael looked at them both and studied them for a while. A feeling of curiousness started to form in his body and he asked. "What are you both worried about? Tell me and Luin too."
Emil looked at Kael, who didn't reply for a few seconds. He sighed a bit before replying to him.
"It's not like that, Kael. I don't know why you think like that. But, me and Riven were just talking about some sword techniques."
Riven joined in between. "Yes, Emil is right. He and I are just talking casually about our sword techniques and about that hidden technique too."
Luin smiled a bit. "Yeah yeah guys, don't take it so seriously you know."
Riven said coldly. "Yes I know, let's focus on the class."
They all paid attention to the words of the teacher while looking at the board.
Emil sat quietly, his fingers were folded over his lap as he stared out the window, but his eyes weren't watching the clouds—they were lost in a memory.
The memory about his past life when he read the novel. Gods' Final Requiem. He was thinking about how this kid named Alaric Veylen caused a disaster in the academy and killed multiple people.

Novel Flashback

It came after a few days—when Alaric locked himself away from everyone else. He started living in his dorm room, away from classes, his friends, teachers and everyone else.
Rumors started to spread in the academy just like a wildfire. Some said that he had gone senile. Others said that a demon from hell had possessed him. But no one knew the real truth.
Now... Alaric Veylen was no longer a normal human. Now his body possessed two different souls.
The second soul, his alter personality had been awakened inside his body.
The sky was grey that morning, it seemed like it would rain like crazy.
Raed—the protagonist of the novel—had just stepped out of his dorm room alongside his friends Riven, Luin, Draven, Arthur and Lyra. When he heard the alarm bells, he knew that they were not normal bells that rang for the class. These were different. For an emergency.
"Warning to all students." A voice echoed from the academy's medic transmission orbs.
"Please evacuate to the east wing. We repeat—please evacuate to the east wing. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing—leave all of it and evacuate to the east wing as per our orders."
Raed eyes widened. "East wing?"
Then he saw something. He looked at his team with worry and said. "Did you guys see that too?"
They all nodded. Riven said. "We should not waste any more time, let's fucking go, idiots."
As they were about to leave. They saw it. A Hyde blast of crimson mana erupted just a few meters away from them—violent and raw. The blast cracked the ground open and sent shockwaves to the buildings, making them fall.
The pressure of the crimson mana, they felt it. It was pressing them into the ground. It was hard for them to even stand for a bit.
Raed sprinted. "No way. That's... that can't be Alaric."
When he reached the corridor, the thing which was in front of his eyes—froze his steps.
Countless students were on the ground—unconscious, injured, and groaning because of the mana burst. Their skin was burnt because of the eruption of crimson mana. freeweɓnøvel.com
Alaric was standing at the center.
His whole body was covered with his veins, they were faintly red. His black hair floated slightly from the pressure that was radiating from him. And his eyes—
One of them was red and the other had gone completely black.
"Alaric!" Raed shouted.
The figure turned its neck slowly, and the neck cracked.
The voice that came out of the Alaric's mouth, was not his.
"You... you're Raed, aren't you? Let me see what you are made of. Prove to me that you are strong, give me a good fight. Prove your worth to me, prove it that you're worth devouring." The voice shouted.
Alaric lunged forward, crimson aura was exploding around his body.
Alaric was so quick that Raed barely summoned his sword in time.
Their swords clashed with each other.
Clang!
