Chapter 331: Chapter 331 Time to gather

"Baby, come here! Momma made fish for you!" Sunny said in her sweet, bubbly voice.

Boo’s glowing eyes widened as he floated toward her. "Real fish?!" he asked with hope so pure it could melt coral.

Sunny giggled, shaking her head as she lifted the empty toy plate proudly. "No, silly! Pretend fish! But it’s tasty, okay?"

Boo gasped and took the invisible bite dramatically. "Mmm! So tasty! Best fish ever!" he declared, falling backward with a satisfied sigh and rubbing his round belly.

Sunny clapped her fins together. "Good baby!" she said proudly.

Luna, still playing pack leader, rolled her eyes with a sigh. "He is such a spoiled baby. He gets all the food."

"Because baby is cute," Boo mumbled with his eyes closed, pretending to snore again.

The girls burst into giggles.

Alina stepped away from the group of elegant sea women, offering them a polite smile as she excused herself. "I will go check on the children... just in case," she said softly, and they nodded with warm understanding.

The moment she walked back toward the play area, her heart softened almost painfully. The children were scattered everywhere in the most adorable chaos. Luna was supervising her pack, Drake and surprisingly Vlad Jr. were playing chase with the shark twins, and Sable was building castles with Arielle as if he had discovered a whole new world.

For a second, Alina just stood there, letting the sight wash over her like a warm wave. Then, unable to stop herself, she quickly pulled out her phone. Thanks to the underwater enchantment magic or whatever it was called, it worked perfectly fine—even the screen glowed bright under the blue currents.

Cold water brushed against her skin, making her shiver. She knew she was probably going to catch a cold later, but she pushed that thought aside. She could not miss this. Not when her little students looked this happy.

She began recording them one by one. Luna tossing a tiny pearl to her pack baby, Sunny pretending to feed Boo who was rolling on the floor like a spoiled infant, Drake roaring dramatically while the shark kids and Vlad Jr. chased him, Rocky showing two mer-boys how to stack shells, Felix trying to look serious while three children begged him to play tag, and little Sable...

Oh, Sable.

He was sitting beside Arielle, his shadow tendrils shyly poking the sand while she decorated his little castle roof with small pink and silver shells. His cheeks were rosy, his eyes round with wonder. Alina felt her chest tighten with affection as she recorded him from afar, her smile tender and proud.

She sent the videos to the parents’ group instantly, knowing it would brighten their day. Then, thinking for a moment, she recorded a separate clip of Sable and Lucien and sent those directly to Dante as well.

Just then, she recorded Boo lying on the ground, sucking his thumb and pretending to be an infant while Sunny hovered over him saying, "Baby needs nap-nap!" Boo cooed dramatically and kicked his ghostly tail into the air.

Alina burst into silent laughter, her shoulders shaking as she captured every second of his ridiculous performance.

"Miss Alina, I hope you are enjoying yourself," a calm voice spoke behind her.

She turned quickly and found King Corvus and Dante standing there, both watching the children with faint smiles. Alina tucked her phone against her chest and smiled warmly.

"Indeed... I am enjoying it very much," she said softly, her gaze drifting back to her class, her voice full of affection.

King Corvus stepped forward, his robes shimmering like currents in the deep. "We are preparing for the live performance now. Seats have been reserved for you, Lord Dante, and your little class."

Alina’s curiosity sparked immediately. "What kind of performance is it? Dance? Music?"

"In a way," King Corvus answered with a mysterious smile. "It is one of our finest underwater cultural performances. I believe you and every child will enjoy it a great deal. Perhaps you should begin gathering them. The show starts in thirty minutes, and as you can see..." He gestured toward the play area with a small chuckle. "They are deeply absorbed."

"Alright, I will gather them," she said with a nod.

She clapped her hands loudly.

"Class D! It is time to gather!"

Every child froze, turning toward her with faces filled with betrayal and heartbreak.

Boo floated up dramatically, hands clasped and eyes wide with desperation. "Teacher... can we play more? Please, please, please! Just five... no... two more minutes!" he begged, his ghostly tail twitching nervously because the principal and Kelpie’s father were staring right at him.

He straightened abruptly and whispered, "Teacher... Boo is being good boy... but can Boo please stay... just tiny little bit longer?"

Alina pressed her lips together, fighting a laugh, her heart melting at the adorable chaos she had apparently adopted as her daily life.

Then she took a slow breath, trying to keep a straight face as every child in front of her put on their most dramatic heartbreaking expressions, like tiny actors trained in the ancient art of emotional manipulation.

"Yes, yes, we want to play more!" Drake chimed, his wings wobbling excitedly. But the moment he noticed Dante looking at him, he ducked behind Vlad Jr. like a startled puppy.

Vlad Jr. stepped forward like a polite little prince, lifting his chin. "Teacher... perhaps you could allocate us more time? We are all enjoying ourselves very much," he said in a surprisingly sophisticated tone for someone who had just spent ten minutes playing chase with shark twins.

"Yes, yes, more time!" Luna added, hugging her new mermaid friends tightly.

Sable shuffled closer, his small hands clutching his shirt as his big eyes shimmered with hope. "Teacher... play more?" he whispered.

"Yes, yes!" their new sea friends chorused eagerly.

Alina felt helpless. Her heart was practically turning into soft jelly. But before she could answer, soft voices began filling the air. A gentle murmur spread through the hall.

One by one, beautiful mermaids and graceful sea women entered the play area to collect their children. They bowed respectfully to King Corvus and Dante, and a few offered warm nods toward Alina, acknowledging her with gentle smiles.

Sunny and Fiona rushed into their mothers’ arms, waving sadly at Luna and Boo. Luna’s little ears drooped, and Boo held up his tiny ghostly hand, whispering, "Goodbye my house family..."
