Chapter 76: Making plans

Today, Ravi was going to the Club.

The events of his time with Arlen played on his mind all through the night, to the extent, that he had to go downstairs and make himself a cup of chamomile tea, just to have a good night’s rest.

But rest seemed to elude him, he woke up and made up his mind, he was going to the club.

Ravi sat down cross-legged on his bed and scrolled through his phone. He had not been in a nightclub for ages. The last time he went to one was in Odella, one of the few realms that he went to that had a similarity with Earth.

Odella was a few centuries above Earth in civilization and their genes differentiated in three ways, Alpha, Omega, and Beta. It was interesting. His mission made him visit the club in order to get closer to a Beta that specialized in Omega Trafficking, his identity was that of the Alpha Heir of one of the Military generals.

Beau. Ravi had not met a Beta like that in that realm, he...well...Ravi’s cheeks turned red at the memory. It was the first time he had been with a man and it was quite interesting.

Interesting was an understatement. He did not think he would meet someone like Beau in the club, but if the person had half of Beau’s skill, it would be alright. At least it scratched this itch and he can get along with Arlen much more normally.

This one would do. Slycon. It had more than 5000 reviews and most of it was good so it was a good sign. It was just that the opening time was 8 pm, Ravi would rather be in bed by that time but it was Friday so it was okay.

The only problem was Asher. He could not leave him home alone. Should he drop him with Arlen? But Asher was nervous around Arlen, what to do?

The warm shower did not aid in any way. He wore his shirt and trousers, carrying the police jacket and heading downstairs.

"Meow."

"You are up early." Ravi said and bent down to pat the head of the cat. Its cornflower blue eyes were glowing happily.

Good. It looks like it was a good dream.

He headed to the kitchen and opened the fridge, preparing out the container of the remaining braised pork belly. Since it was remaining, he would make a bit of pork rice so that Asher might have it for lunch and maybe dinner.

There was still some leftover rice from yesterday, it was as if the recipe was coming together on its own. He smiled.

Taking out the pork belly, he diced them. He then headed outside to wear the tray of onions and took one and some green onions.

Peeling the skin of the medium onions, he cut them into small onion rings. He cleaned the green onions and cut the white part as well. Some ginger and some garlic.

His movements were fast, he added the onions to some oil in a wok, then the ginger and garlic. He sauteed it and added some diced-up pork belly, stir-frying carefully. He did not take much time with the pork belly as it had already been braised yesterday, he was just warming it up.

Then the spices.

Ravi opened the drawer of spices and took out some ground-powered, five spice powder, rock sugar, cooking wine, soy sauce, and star anise. Everything had already been ground so she turned them together to make a spice blend.

Asher watched him and Ravi looked up to meet its gaze.

"This is a variant of the egg rice you had in the morning. In the orphanage when I was young, eggs were really expensive but pork was cheap. The sisters would make it like this for us. It was delicious." He did not talk much of his life in the orphanage.

The cat looked excited and it jumped on his working table as if to see what he was doing.

Ravi poured the spices over the pork belly before he added the rice, stirring continuously until every white grain was coated a beautiful brown. He took a spoon and tried it. It was delicious and the meat melted in his mouth.

It was just how he remembered it. Just better.

He took out another spoon and blew on it before he fed it to Asher. Asher’s eyes widened with delight.

"This would be your lunch. I might come back late tonight. Would you be alright or should I..."

Bang!

There was a loud sound like something was falling. Ravi instantly moved in front of Asher and frowned. He did not notice anyone coming.

He headed to the garden and saw a young woman in her early twenties in an embarrassing position next to the potato field.

Ravi closed his eyes and turned his back for him to cover herself properly.

"Ouch!" the woman moaned in pain.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Ravi asked before he turned back to face the young woman. She was beautiful with long green hair, the color of the leafy greens in his garden, her eyes were gray, not like ash, but a beautiful steel color. It was quite the coincidence, he had thought about Beau, this morning, and thirty minutes later, he met someone with the same color of hair as him.

She stood and dusted the dust under her short skirt, her face was red with embarrassment and she bit her lips.

"My name is Lana Willows. I am a bio-engineer. I am your next-door neighbor. What is your name?" Her voice was cold, a stark difference from the embarrassed expression on her face.

"My name is Ravi West. I am a police officer, You have not answered my question. What are you doing here?" There was no smile on his face.

The embarrassed expression seemed to grow and she swallowed, she took out an envelope and handed it to Ravi.

Rabi opened the envelope. They were filled with dollars. 100 dollar note and there were more than twenty of them.

This was his salary for two months.

He looked at the woman confused.

Lana cleared his throat. Because of this person she could not sleep all night, "What are...What are you cooking
