I Am Cultivating in the Apocalypse-Chapter 1011 - 1101: Exchanging Factory Positions with Su Malie
Su Malie really guessed it right. After Jing Shu explained it to her, her eyes lit up, and she hugged Jing Shu to give her a loving kiss.
"My goodness, Ah Zhu, you have no idea how I’ve been tormented by this damn stench lately. Every day I’m praying for a way to remove this strange smell. My dad has brought in countless air purification machines and paid a high price for lots of pothos and activated charcoal. I even sprayed all kinds of perfumes myself, but nothing worked.
You wouldn’t believe the laboratories over in the Capital are going crazy. To eliminate these odors, they are using garlic essence and onion essence. These smells mixed with the rotten egg smell in the air, ugh—"
Su Malie exaggeratedly rambled on for a while, then carefully sniffed the scent of the peach flavor: "This smells so much better, thank you so much, I really like it."
Jing Shu said, "This was originally a gift from you to me. Now it’s just returning a favor. I’m planning to open a factory like this and will provide you with scented purification branches for free in the future." 𝒇𝙧𝙚𝓮𝙬𝙚𝓫𝒏𝓸𝓿𝓮𝒍.𝓬𝙤𝓶
Su Malie cherished these items and put them away seriously, saying, "Ah Zhu, don’t say it’s because I gave it to you as a gift, so you have to provide it for free in the future.
There must be a reason for your opportunity to discover its wonder. You are truly a judge of talent. Otherwise, if this thing were with me, it would still be a stone even a hundred years later. Understand my point?"
Jing Shu nodded repeatedly: "Okay, okay, I understand your point. You give me a gift, I give you a gift in return, then you send me another gift, is that okay?"
Only then did Su Malie smile and nod: "That’s the way. Since you sent me such a nice gift, I should go and ask my dad for something in return."
She enjoyed exchanging gifts with Jing Shu like this; it was quite fun, owing each other a little.
As they were talking, the mask factory had already arrived.
Jing Shu looked at this factory that originally had only a row of small workshops and had now expanded tenfold, occupying an area the size of a soccer field, with hundreds of prefab houses added, and crucially, a large area that was previously concrete had been brought over.
The entire factory was clean and tidy, upgraded from a third-rate factory to the appearance of a first-rate one, causing her to gape in awe.
What the heck?
The secretary Xiao Wang, carrying a briefcase and holding a brand-new thermos, greeted them: "Boss, President Su, I’ll take you to have a look."
Su Malie also had shares in the factory as she provided the raw materials, so people in the factory knew her. On the other hand, Jing Shu, the major shareholder, had not shown up since the factory opened.
Jing Shu acknowledged with a sound, while Su Malie chattered on the side about the changes in the past six months.
The factory was very busy. There was a row of houses at the entrance serving as a sales area, where many people were signing contracts and queuing up to get masks to sell in places around the South Sea.
Since the South Sea reopened its maritime routes, using Corpse Worms as fuel, the pier opened up and regained some of the hustle and bustle from before the apocalypse.
Now, this place was one of the few largest mask factories nationwide, with the most complete qualifications and the fastest production speed. Many important raw material approvals for fuel were needed, but this factory had connections and would not be held up for materials.
Daily, several batches of masks were transported out, and at the back of the factory, the machines of eight production lines were running non-stop.
Jing Shu also saw a familiar face; the worker Mayer was charging and sweating profusely, unaware that the boss had arrived.
Su Malie said, "Masks are in such high demand now. They’re consumables, and local production can’t keep up, so we’ve all agreed to expand a bit more, and I have a way to get a few more production lines—"
Jing Shu pondered a bit: "The mask factory doesn’t need to expand any further; this current size is just right."
Su Malie looked at Jing Shu in confusion: "But it’s so popular right now. Although you have the air purification branches, they must be expensive, and only a few people can afford them. Masks are still the mainstream."
Jing Shu said, "It’s not about the branches. If you expand the production lines, you’ll also need to expand the material approvals, which will take at least one or two months to sort out, right?"
Su Malie nodded.
Jing Shu continued: "Right now, production capacity can’t keep up, but factories are being built all over the country. In three months or so, national production will probably catch up and the market will be saturated. But the air can’t always stay smelly. If the air stops being foul in the future, the market will collapse."
Su Malie thought for a moment, "That’s true. Expanding production lines would require a lot of Virtual Coin, and connections are needed, so it would take two to three months just to break even."
Jing Shu smiled slightly: "I actually have a few longer-term business plans. I think the mask factory should start reducing raw material intake in the second half of the year."
The rotten egg smell would only last for a year; she wanted to quit while ahead. Moreover, the mask factory needed to plan its transition route for the second half of the year. Otherwise, letting go of so many employees suddenly, with no work available for them, would be problematic.
"A beer and fruit winery, and a laundry powder factory?" Su Malie’s eyes lit up, "That’s not bad as an employee benefit. Sure, let’s sign the contract."
Jing Shu sighed to herself, realizing that even before the factory opened, she already had premium clients with long-term product exchanges and secured contracts, unaffected by whether times were good or bad.
"By the way, Ah Zhu, let’s exchange some factory slots. I’ll give you a few positions in the Natural Company, and you give me a few slots in the new factory?"
