Chapter 635: debt

Ryan Smith is such a jerk, he wasn’t interested at first, but as soon as he heard Erin Ginger say that, he got excited.

"Did you two have a fight?"

"..." Erin shot Ryan a glance, then went back to eating, ignoring him.

The look was exactly like when Edward Stephens was annoyed.

Ryan couldn’t help but suppress a laugh, for some reason, his liking for this little guy increased a bit.

"What’s going on between you two? Your uncle has been through it all. He’s good at comforting women. Talk to your uncle properly, and I’ll give you some advice." 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Erin lowered his head and drank his porridge, his tone indifferent: "No need."

"Really no need?"

"No need."

Ryan felt hurt.

He clicked his tongue softly, lazily leaning back in his chair, sighed: "Your uncle, myself, is quite the popular figure now, being sent to this godforsaken island to eat scraps, and yet, you and your mom bully me."

Erin lifted his head and looked at Ryan: "Did Daddy send you to find us?"

Ryan nodded: "Of course he did."

"Does Daddy miss me?"

His voice was soft, with a childish tone, and saying these words for some reason, was a bit heartbreaking.

Ryan unconsciously corrected his expression, looking at the little face similar to Edward’s, he gently said to him: "Your dad thinks of you every single day."

It’s fair to say, he and Edward Stephens persisted all this while just for this day.

Erin said: "If he misses me, why doesn’t he come find me himself?"

Ryan was taken aback, not expecting Erin to ask him this, he coughed lightly, "Well, your dad’s been sick... he wanted to come find you, but alas, his heart was willing yet his body couldn’t manage."

Erin glanced at him then withdrew his gaze, not bothering with him anymore.

"..."

For some reason, Ryan always felt like he was being intellectually outdone, he hadn’t said anything he shouldn’t have, right?

There’s not much entertainment on the island, Ryan shamelessly stayed at Daisy Ginger’s place for three days, bored stiff.

Daisy was a determined woman, his persuasion probably wouldn’t win her over; he decided to let Edward figure things out himself.

On the morning he planned to leave, after breakfast, Daisy suddenly said to him: "Go prepare the helicopter to leave the island."

Ryan indeed looked a bit surprised, unsure why she suddenly changed her mind, but he didn’t ask, just responded and left to get ready.

After Ryan left, Erin put down his spoon and went over to Daisy Ginger, holding her hand.

Daisy had been giving him the cold shoulder these past few days, neither had said much, and this was the first time Erin tried to make peace since their argument.

"Mommy." Erin called her softly.

"Hmm." Daisy responded coolly.

"Are you still mad at me?"

"What do you think?"

"Please don’t be mad, okay?"

Daisy pinched his face lightly, "...You’re just here to collect debts from me."

Erin put his arms around her neck, making Daisy hold him in her arms.

Daisy saw him rarely being affectionate, and felt a slight tenderness rise in her heart, she embraced him, and Erin gave her a kiss on the cheek.

Daisy looked down at him, then gently sighed.

She was born into a life owing the men of the Stephens family.
