Chapter 620: Choice

If Edward Stephens were heartless, it wouldn’t be so bad; she’d have the right to question him, why marry another woman? Why not her?

But he doesn’t remember her because he saved her.

He lost his memory because of her, and no matter what happened afterward, she has no standing to blame him.

Edward Stephens leaned back on the sofa, lazily swinging his long legs.

He raised his head, squinting as he scrutinized Daisy Ginger’s face.

Just as Daisy was curious about what he was looking at, Edward suddenly asked, "Are you happy now?"

Daisy replied indifferently, "What am I happy about?"

The man turned his head away, letting out a slight snort: "Let me tell you, even if I can’t marry Coco, I wouldn’t like you."

Upon hearing this, Daisy seemed amused and let out a soft laugh.

She slowly leaned back against the sofa, finding some support before gently responding, "I honestly don’t care much about that."

Edward looked at her, his eyebrows frowning.

"Didn’t you like me a lot?" he asked, "Me not liking you means nothing to you?"

"The way you like her now, I’ve gone through that." Perhaps when he loved her, it was even crazier than now.

There’s nothing to be jealous of.

Edward let out a faint hum and stood up from the sofa, standing tall and straight, his legs now free to move.

The car accident seemed prepared solely to separate them.

Besides losing his memory, he had no other issues.

In a way, Robert Stephens truly succeeded.

——Succeeded in making Edward Stephens leave her.

But now, regarding Edward and Coco’s situation, who knows if he’s satisfied?

Indeed, nothing in this world is perfect. Where there’s loss, there’s gain.

"I don’t like you. I don’t have any feelings for you." Edward told her calmly, "I know you like me, but I don’t feel anything for you now. If you insist on waiting for me to regain my memory, I feel sorry for you."

Daisy asked, "Sorry for what?"

"Even though I don’t want to admit it, I feel like I won’t recover my past memories." He said flatly, "A woman’s youth is short, don’t waste it on me. No matter how passionate our past may have been, it’s all in the past. Now, you’re almost a stranger to me."

"So?" Daisy quietly watched him, "Are you asking me to be like you and forget?"

The man seemed to pause for a moment.

He turned his head, his gaze landing on her face.

Against the light, his expression was indistinct, but his voice came through clearly, "Otherwise, what else can you do?"

"..."

"I don’t want to owe you anything," he said, "but I can’t deceive you either. Even if something happened between us in the past, it’s in the past now. I can’t make you any promises and don’t know when I’ll remember you, considering you just said I lost my memory to save you, I don’t owe you anything for falling for someone else now."

He was truly ruthless.

Every word stabbed at her heart.

"Do you think you owe me nothing?"

"Do you think I owe you anything?"

Daisy was silent for a moment.

After a while, she softly asked, "Then if one day, you remember me, will you not regret it?"

The man quietly looked at her.

"How can you be sure that when I remember you, I will choose you?"
