Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 612: Addiction to smoking
The hospital room was silent for a moment until Daisy Ginger approached in high heels.
Lady Stephens watched her calm demeanor, and for some reason, an unspoken guilt blossomed within her heart.
She lowered her head, said no more, unable to lift her head in her presence.
Only now did she understand, that no matter how many reasons or unspeakable difficulties she had back then, she should not have deceived her.
No matter how much hatred she had...
It was deserved.
Daisy Ginger raised her hand and threw the toys on the little coffee table into the trash bin.
A "plop" sound made the man’s brow wrinkle with displeasure.
He looked up, his tone unpleasant, "What are you doing?"
"Stop playing games with her," said Daisy Ginger coldly.
"What right do you have to order me?" He seemed impatient, frowning at her, "Do you know how annoying you are?"
"..." Daisy Ginger lowered her head, looking at the man’s face.
In fact, she herself knew that she was never Edward Stephens’ type aesthetically.
How he later fell in love with her, became so infatuated, she couldn’t understand herself.
But now it seemed, even if it were all to happen again, she wouldn’t be the first one he would fall for at first sight.
"Edward, don’t talk to Daisy like that!"
Lady Stephens stepped forward to smooth things over, pushing Edward aside.
The man’s handsome face still bore traces of displeasure; he spoke in a low voice, "Don’t you think you’re meddling too much?"
"Too much meddling?" Lady Stephens was furious, nearly jumping up, "Your child with Daisy is already three and a half, and you’re still entangled with other women. Don’t you have any sense of parental responsibility?"
Edward Stephens glanced at Daisy Ginger coldly and said, "It’s not like she’s the only one I have children with, and I don’t see that woman trying to control me."
Lady Stephens hadn’t expected him to say something like that. Her face turned pale, and she turned her head anxiously towards Daisy Ginger.
As expected, Daisy Ginger’s face had also turned grim. Her dark eyes stared at the man for a long time, before she said nothing and turned to leave the room.
"Daisy!"
Lady Stephens stamped her foot in anger, glared at Edward Stephens, and hurriedly chased after her.
"You’re being shameless!" she scolded Edward Stephens.
The man calmly retracted his gaze, then looked down at the toy in the trash bin, retrieved it, and placed it back on the little coffee table.
Daisy Ginger walked to the ventilation area expressionlessly, stood by the window with her back to Lady Stephens, and let the wind blow on her.
Lady Stephens felt a sense of guilt and called out softly, "Daisy, don’t be upset. I’ll replace that therapist shortly..."
Daisy Ginger turned her head to glance at her, "I’m not upset."
Her face was calm, her eyes were not red, showing a stable mood.
Seeing her like this, Lady Stephens felt even more remorseful and whispered, "Daisy, Auntie is truly... sorry..."
Daisy Ginger smiled slightly but didn’t respond, then turned around and leaned against the windowsill; she sighed lightly and said to Lady Stephens, "Auntie, I’d like to be alone for a while."
Lady Stephens nodded gently, "Don’t stay in the wind too long, you might catch a cold..."
Daisy Ginger nodded, watching Lady Stephens leave, before lowering her gaze, reaching into her bag to fish out a pack of candy, taking one piece, and popping it into her mouth.
Ever since giving birth to Erin Ginger, she had already quit smoking.
But at this moment, inexplicably, a faint desire for smoking crept up, like a shadow in her heart, leaving a scar that made her crave a cigarette whenever she felt pain.
