Hold On Mr.! Your Sweetheart is a Real Queen-Chapter 613: Nestling complex
Daisy Ginger quietly ate some candy alone for a while.
The sweet strawberry flavor lifted her mood a bit.
When all her emotions were pressed back, she got up and returned to the hospital room.
Edward Stephens was lying on the bed. Upon hearing the door open, he glanced up once and then looked away. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Because they had argued, he didn’t want to engage with her. Lady Stephens was frustrated, scratching her head, while Daisy Ginger reacted calmly, moving to sit on the sofa nearby.
She leaned back against the sofa, closed her eyes, and let out a gentle sigh.
She came to see Edward Stephens, but clearly, the current Edward no longer needed her.
So now, between the two of them, it was evident that she needed him a bit more.
Being in the same space, hearing his voice, sensing his presence, made her battered heart feel a little better.
She wouldn’t, like Lady Stephens, think that Edward was ungrateful. He wasn’t wrong—he didn’t remember.
Not remembering meant freedom, the ability to like anyone he wanted, without anyone being a burden to him.
In this, she truly envied him.
Daisy, with her eyes closed, sensed the faint scent Edward had left in the air. Surprisingly, she felt reassured and didn’t know when she fell asleep.
She napped lightly for just over half an hour but had a nightmare, waking up drenched in cold sweat, her heart pounding, and eyes filled with red veils.
As the throbbing sound of blood in her ears gradually faded, Daisy opened her eyes and finally began to calm down.
She dreamt of the car accident again.
Perhaps she had been too tired these days, her body too exhausted to dream, but once she felt at peace, her dreams from the past few months returned.
She let out a slow breath, hearing the sound of the TV in the room. She sat up from the sofa and saw Edward leaning against the bedhead, idly watching a video on an iPad while eating sunflower seeds.
He seemed unbelievably relaxed. As he noticed her looking over, he gave her a cursory glance before quickly looking away, not sparing her a single gaze.
She rubbed her eyes, went to the bathroom to wash her face, and came out to ask him, "Are you hungry?"
The man tore his eyes from the video to glance at her, "Not hungry."
"But I am," she said.
Edward frowned, looking at her without saying a word.
"Don’t you have a cafeteria here?" Daisy said, "Give me your card, and I’ll go eat by myself."
Lady Stephens had gone somewhere, and she feared that if she left to eat, she wouldn’t be able to return to the hospital.
Edward said nothing, just stared at her, and Daisy knew from his expression that he wasn’t willing to lend her the meal card.
This stingy man.
She hummed softly in her mind, planning to call Lady Stephens to ask her to bring some food up, when suddenly the door was pushed open from the outside. Coco poked her head in: "Edward, have you rested well? I’ll take you to dinner." She glanced at Daisy and coughed lightly, her expression showing a hint of awkwardness.
Daisy looked at her, feeling a slight irritation inside.
This Coco was different from Emily Ginger; she was the lively, cute type. But in essence, they were quite similar—both were the kind of overly feminine types.
It was perfectly normal for two young people spending so much time together to develop some feelings.
Especially since Edward had lost his memory. A fledgling sense of affection made it easy for him to depend on the woman taking care of him.
It felt like a thorn in her heart, pressing just lightly enough to be felt; even if she could understand, she couldn’t find peace.
