Chapter 602: Daddy is so handsome

Daisy Ginger said softly, "I’m fine. Let’s go back."

"Oh, oh..." Lady Stephens responded twice, seeming to breathe a sigh of relief, and let go of her hand.

Daisy walked back with her side by side.

"Daisy, Robert is an elder. You shouldn’t speak to him so harshly in the future, understand?"

Daisy’s expression was indifferent, and she just responded softly, "Oh."

She wasn’t so oblivious that she couldn’t understand Lady Stephens’s insinuation, but she thought that Lady Stephens wasn’t actually a fool and had indeed misjudged for all these years.

Back in the ward.

On the sofa, Erin Ginger and George Stephens were sitting together, watching the English version of SpongeBob SquarePants.

Watching cartoons, the two kids seemed to get along peacefully.

She withdrew her gaze, looked at Edward Stephens, who was sleeping in the bedding with his back to her, went over and ruffled Erin’s little head, and asked him softly, "Sweetheart, do you want to stay here to watch TV or go home with Mommy?"

Erin lifted his head, glanced in Edward’s direction, then reached out his hand, signaling for Daisy to pick him up.

"Go home."

Edward clearly didn’t want to deal with them; staying any longer seemed pointless to him.

Daisy nodded, picking up Erin and softly said to Lady Stephens, "Auntie, Erin and I will head home first, we’ll come to see Edward again tomorrow."

"Leaving so soon?" Lady Stephens was slightly taken aback.

Daisy smiled gently, "We won’t disturb Edward’s rest."

Lady Stephens looked at her son, who was facing away from them, sighed, and quietly apologized to Daisy, "I’m sorry, Daisy, Edward is just..."

"It’s fine." Daisy was rather open-minded about it, "Feelings can be nurtured, just take it slowly. I promised him I would accompany him back to Chicago, so I’m not reneging."

Lady Stephens looked at her, her eyes reddened slightly, and said no more, only accompanying her to the door.

Standing at the doorway, Daisy nodded to Lady Stephens, "Auntie, this is as far as you need to see us off."

"Be careful on the road."

Daisy acknowledged and slowly left holding Erin’s hand.

Lady Stephens stood in the doorway, watching the backs of the duo, then turned to glance at the unmoving figure on the bed, walked back in, closed the door, and couldn’t help but mutter, "Edward, you really need to recover quickly... You can’t let Daisy keep waiting like this... She’s waited far too long..."

The man lying in bed with his back facing her slowly opened his eyes, gazed quietly into space, and after a moment, closed his eyes again.

"Grandma, I’m a bit sleepy," George said, yawning on the sofa.

Lady Stephens went over, picked up the child, and took him to the guest room next to the ward. 𝒻𝓇𝑒𝘦𝘸𝑒𝒷𝓃ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝒸ℴ𝘮

The sounds gradually quieted down, leaving the ward in complete silence.

Daisy hailed a cab and returned to the small villa she had just rented.

Erin was already drowsy in the car, still sleeping when she carried him out.

She gently carried him inside, laid him on the sofa, and was about to get up to pour a glass of water when she heard Erin softly call her, "Mommy..."

Daisy stopped in her tracks, looked down at him, and the little guy, with drowsy eyes, reached out a small hand to grab the hem of her clothes, appearing insecure.

"Mommy’s here." Daisy crouched down and kissed his forehead gently.

Little Erin wrapped his arms around her neck, looked at her, and smiled slightly, "Daddy is so handsome."

Daisy hadn’t expected him to say that and couldn’t help but chuckle, "Handsome?"

Little Erin nodded vigorously.
