Chapter 603: Force Edward Stephens to comply

"Do you really like him that much..." Daisy Ginger reached out and tousled Erin Ginger’s short hair with a light sigh.

Even though they hadn’t met much, where did Erin’s fondness for Edward Stephens come from? 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢

Innate?

She kissed his forehead softly, "Alright, we’ll go see daddy tomorrow. For now, Erin, get some rest, and I’ll call outside."

She covered him with a small blanket and lulled him to sleep, then took out her phone to order a pizza.

Half an hour later, the doorbell rang. Thinking it was the pizza, Daisy got up from the sofa to open the door. As it opened, Charlotte Smith’s voice came from outside: "Miss Ginger, I’m here to take you and Master Erin home."

"..."

Daisy slowly opened the door wider, looking up at the woman standing at her doorstep.

After last night’s rather informal meeting, today could finally be considered a proper face-to-face encounter.

Standing in front of her, Charlotte was as gentle and demure as ever, anyone would think this woman was kind and considerate.

Daisy said coldly, "Go back and tell him, I don’t plan on living with the Stephens family."

"Sir said, it’s okay if you don’t want to, but Master Erin must come home."

Even knowing it wasn’t fair to blame Charlotte, looking at this beautiful face, Daisy felt a bit irritated.

She furrowed her brows, staring at Charlotte for a while before saying, "Erin is resting now, we’ll talk when he wakes up."

"..." Charlotte said nothing, just stood quietly aside.

Soon, the delivery guy arrived with the pizza. Daisy took it, ignored Charlotte, closed the door, and went inside to call Erin for lunch.

Erin obediently ate the pizza with her. After throwing the takeout box into the trash, Daisy opened the door and said to Charlotte, "Let’s go."

Erin stood beside Daisy, raising his small face that resembled Edward Stephens, his cool eyes observing the unfamiliar woman in front of him.

Charlotte’s gaze couldn’t help but fall on Erin’s face. Her pupils shrank slightly before she silently turned and walked away.

Little Erin softly asked Daisy, "Mommy, who is this big sister?"

"She’s George’s mommy," Daisy replied.

Surprise filled Little Erin’s face, as if he too found it hard to associate the quiet woman with George Stephens...

The car was parked at the door, Charlotte opened the door, standing respectfully by the car for them to get in.

Daisy hugged Erin as they sat in the backseat and watched Charlotte get into the driver’s seat.

Robert Stephens had only sent Charlotte to pick her up, as if he wasn’t afraid she would refuse—and in truth, she didn’t dare refuse.

She could never allow Erin to live with the Stephens family alone.

Closing her eyes, Daisy sorted through her chaotic thoughts before looking at Charlotte’s graceful reflection in the rearview mirror.

"You went to such lengths to manipulate so many people, just so you could stay and continue to be his servant?"

She always thought Charlotte slept with Edward to marry him.

Going as far as having a child out of wedlock to force Edward’s hand.

But four years had passed, she’d given birth to George, yet Edward remained single.

Didn’t everything she did back then amount to a joke?

Having Edward’s child, she could never find another man willing to marry her in this lifetime.

Could she have loved him so deeply, so deeply she chose a solitary life, just to have Edward’s child?
