His Toxic Addiction-Chapter 387: Finding Mr. Adams
Chapter 387: Finding Mr. Adams
Arissa’s body trembled slightly when Nicklaus spoke to her so sternly. She lowered her gaze but Nicklaus forced her to look at him again.
He placed a finger under her chin and slowly, he lifted her face to hold her gaze. He searched her eyes and all he could see was doubt. What was she doubtful about?
Nicklaus stood straight and relaxed on the vanity table. He pressed on foot on it and relaxed his butt on the table while he studied her.
He waited for her to feel free and speak up. However, Arissa sat back there and continuously stared into his eyes without saying a word to him.
Nicklaus released a breath and squatted to her face level. He tenderly caressed her face and tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear.
He took her hand in his and dropped soft kisses on it. He took hold of her other hand and held them together. "Speak to me, Arissa. Your silent treatment isn’t helpful,"
"I haven’t said what I want to but you are already mad at me," she said softly.
Nicklaus wiggled his brows at her and laughed, "I’m not,"
Arissa sniffed and let out a low breath, "You are, Nick." she said confidently, her reasons solidly based on his tune earlier when he ordered her to say what bothered her.
Nicklaus smiled widely, showing her his perfect set of white teeth, "I’m not and I knew I shouldn’t have sounded that way..." he pinched her cheek and soothed it immediately, using his thumb.
Arissa glared at him.
"...there. If you think I was mad at you, not anymore. I’ve already punished you for your offense," he said with humor.
Arissa made a face when she heard him. She tried to keep a straight face but in the next second, she smiled gracefully.
Nicklaus smiled back and rubbed the corners of her cheek with his thumbs, "That’s right, baby. Smile more and speak to me. I’m no monster and even if I am, have it in mind that I would never hurt you. I’m incapable of doing that,"
Heat covered the whole of Arissa’s body down to her toenails and she blushed so hard. Nicklaus held her fingers and massaged them.
"I think I miss Mr. Adams," Arissa began.
Nicklaus was taken aback by her words. He was surprised beyond words but tried not to stop massaging her fingers. He tried not to show her how surprised he was.
Keeping everything normal, he nodded and listened patiently.
"I don’t know if I miss him but I honestly want to see him. I want to know where he’s at, how he’s far, ing, and more of that," she paused.
Meeting Nicklaus’s eyes, an unexpected drop of tears left her eyes. She felt a void in her heart, she couldn’t feel completely happy even with everyone beside her.
"Hush, hush now baby," Nicklaus comforted her. He hastily wiped her tears, "Is that all you want? You want to see Mr. Adams?"
Arissa nodded, "That’s all I want at this moment. He was only following orders and if am not asking too much, I want you to help me look for him," she hiccuped terribly at the end, so terrible that her shoulders trembled.
"Hey, don’t you cry Love," Nicklaus warned her. He stood straight, holding her up. He immediately drew her into his arms and pressed her head into his chest.
"It’s okay, Love." Nicklaus pleaded. He never expected her to cry so hard because of Mr. Adams. It left him stunned that Mr. Adams had a huge impact on Arissa.
Could it be just an impact on her or the blood bond was included?
Arissa sobbed softly and wrapped her arms around him. "I want to hear his voice no matter how short the duration would be. Nicklaus please,"
Nicklaus smiled when he heard her call his name fully and not her favourite nickname. It pained him that she felt so sad to the extent of calling his full name to make him understand but even at that, he loved the sound of his name coming from her.
"It’s late already. How about I invite him over tomorrow morning? He will be seated on the couch in the living room before you wake up tomorrow," he promised.
Arissa blinked in his chest. She pulled away from him and raised her now red face from crying to him.
Nicklaus kissed her left brow, "I promise. I’m sorry you have to cry before I know that I have to do this,"
Arissa giggled, "It’s fine," she wrapped her hands around his neck and added, "I love you, thank you so much,"
Wrapping his arms around her waist, he said, "I know you do. Now stop the tears and let’s go downstairs to have dinner. Before you walk downstairs tomorrow, he’ll be down there waiting,"
Arissa’s brows ceased when she thought of something. She raised her eyes to the ceiling and fixed them back on Nick. Clearing her throat, she asked, "Would it stress you out?"
"Huh?"
"What you said is almost impossible. You would have to sleep and it isn’t easy searching for someone like Mr. Adams who might not want to be found," she explained.
Nicklaus chuckled, "It’s no stress when it comes to you. What I said isn’t impossible since I already have his whereabouts. He can’t hide from me," there was a hint of pride in his voice.
His face softened in the next second and he added, "I’m sorry I did not inform you. I thought you wouldn’t want anything to do with him,"
Arissa thinned her lips in understanding.
Nicklaus ran his fingers through her hair, "Let’s get this done."
Arissa nodded, "My stomach grumbles so much," she shook her head afterwards at the thought of having a large appetite.
"Baby," Nicklaus chuckled and knelt on one foot before her. He rubbed her stomach, kissed it, and stood straight again.
Arissa moistures her lower lip with her saliva. Remembering something she buried at the depth of her mind, she informed. "I have something to tell you after dinner,"
