Chapter 245: The same sacrifice

Gina, who finally couldn’t sleep because of her uncomfortable position, was surprised by the arrival of a gatekeeper who brought a bouquet of big red roses and several box-shaped objects wrapped in white tile.

"Here’s a package for you, madam."

"For me? Everything? This much?"

The guard nodded his head. "The sender’s name is Clara Rosa, madam."

Gina smiled wryly when she heard Clara Rosa’s name called.

"Where should I put these things, madam?"

"Give me the bouquet of flowers and for those things just keep it inside," Gina replied quietly as she held out her hand towards the guard.

The guard politely then gave the bouquet of roses he was holding to Gina, not long after that he then walked into the house to put some other items given by Clara Rosa.

Gina smiled at the bouquet of flowers in her hand, her heart felt much calmer when she smelled the scent of dozens of fresh roses. Gina’s attention was then drawn to a greeting card tucked among the roses, Gina carefully reached for the greeting card to read the message written on it. But just as she touched the pink card, Gina was surprised by a white piece of paper falling on her lap.

Gina’s heart beat very fast when she read the contents of the white paper, it was clear that Lucas Dom’s name was written on the paper accompanied by an emoticon crying and asking for forgiveness.

"Luke..." Gina muttered under her breath involuntarily.

"Wait!!" Gina screamed loudly for the guard who was walking towards the gate.

Suddenly the guard who had just returned from inside the house then ran to Gina who had just called him.

"Is there anything else I can help you with, madam?"

Gina swallowed her saliva. "Are you sure these flowers are from Clara Rosa?"

"Sure, madam. Earlier the flowers and the package I placed in the house were delivered by a white van that had Clara Rosa inscribed on it, the courier’s clothes also had Clara Rosa inscribed, madam," answered the waiter honestly. "What’s the matter, madam? Is something wrong?"

"Nothing, I’m just making sure. Because this greeting card doesn’t have Clara Rosa’s name written on it," Gina said slowly while showing a greeting card that only said ’Get Well Soon’ without any name or signature engraved on the bottom.

The guard nodded his head, he seemed to be in thought. But soon the two guards’ eyes sparkled with excitement.

"The ribbon, the ribbon on the bouquet of flowers you’re holding has the words Clara Rosa on it, madam."

Gina raised one eyebrow, then she checked the flower strap that was on her lap. Gina’s smile immediately widened when she saw the white ribbon.

"Oh my God, it turns out that his name is engraved on the ribbon. I’m sorry, I wasn’t careful," Gina said slowly, smiling widely to cover her nervousness.

"No madam, it’s not your fault. You’re just confirming and it’s not wrong."

Gina pursed her lips again. "Okay then, you may go back to your work."

"Then I’ll excuse you, madam."

Gina nodded her head slowly, her attention was immediately drawn to the paper in her hand. Now Gina’s mind continues to be filled with many questions, how can there be a message from Lucas in the bouquet of flowers given by Clara Rosa. When she was thinking about the relationship between Clara Rosa and Lucas when her cell phone suddenly vibrated, Gina gasped and almost dropped the beautiful bouquet of flowers from her lap if she didn’t hug the bouquet quickly.

Gina’s lips twitched when she saw the nameless number appear on the screen of her cellphone, it seemed that Gina had already guessed who the number belonged to. Without hesitation Gina then pointed the phone to her ear after pressing the green button.

"What else, Luke?"

In the car Lucas gasped. "How did you know I called you, Gina?"

"I don’t know, instinct maybe," Gina answered quietly.

"How are your feet?" Lucas asked quietly.

"It’s been much better."

Lucas took a deep breath. "Go with me, Gina. Come back to me, I know you’re not happy in that house, right?"

"No woman would be happy knowing that her marriage turned out to be a game, Luke."

"Fuck, don’t mention that again. I told you you’re not married, Gina. You’re still single, you’re still free, Gina. So please don’t bring that up again, I don’t like hearing that," Lucas said loudly.

Gina clenched her fists. "Even if I have to leave this house then I’m not going with you, Luke."

"Gina..."

"You are just like Massimo, you also played with me by making me a bet. You and Massimo are the same, there is no difference. You are both cruel and heartless," said Gina quietly cutting Lucas’ words, trying not to cry. "You’d better not bother me anymore, Lucas. Let me live in peace, I have already resolved my problem with Massimo so please don’t make things more difficult. I reiterate once again that I will not choose one between the two of you."

After saying that, Gina then turned off Lucas’ call and immediately turned off her cellphone, the paper containing Lucas’ handwriting was immediately torn into small pieces before being thrown in the trash.

"Stop bothering me, Luke. I’m really tired, I want to live a quiet life," Gina said hoarsely. "Let me live quietly for a while, until the time comes when I have to leave this place."

Gina decided to stay by Massimo’s side for a while even though she knew that he was only being toyed with by that man, Gina chose to endure the stabbing pain in order to protect her father’s feelings. Gina doesn’t want to shock her father when he finds out that Massimo didn’t really marry her, at least for the next two years Gina wants to survive the wound so that her family can have the three land certificates that Massimo still holds. At least if Massimo were to take over the Sanders family hotel, there would still be three other hotels that would remain her family’s.

"In the past my mother sacrificed for the honor of the Sanders family and now it’s my turn to do the same thing, strengthen me Lord," Gina said in her heart with her head down as she recalled her reason for staying by Massimo’s side.

****

"Fuck, fuck..fuck!!!"

"Fuck, how did that bastard leave. Did he know we were coming?"

"Have any of you betrayed me?"

"Damn!!!"

Massimo continued to curse when he learned that Lucas had moved out of the apartment he was in, his intention to teach the Italian mafia a lesson was delayed. Yet at this time Massimo’s emotions were unstoppable.

"Hide as far as you can, Luke. As long as you’re still in Barcelona I’ll find you easily, Luke," Massimo said hoarsely with clenched fists staring at Lucas’s empty apartment.

Martin and the other eight bodyguards couldn’t help but stare at the angry master, they didn’t have the balls to speak.

"Martin," Massimo called coldly.

Martin immediately looked up. "Yes Sir."

"Must everyone bring Lucas Dom to me, dead or alive. You only have 24 hours to get to that bastard."

Martin swallowed. "Ok sir, I understand."

"Remember, Martin. I don’t like failure so don’t let me down," said Massimo again expressionlessly with sharp eyes focused on Martin.

"I-I won’t let you down, sir."

"Good."
