Chapter 456: Chapter 456 Camp (2)

The campsite rested beneath a stretch of tall trees, sunlight spilling gently between the leaves, and three presidential-suite tents stood like soft-colored cabins in the clearing. They weren’t ordinary tents at all, more like portable mini-houses with thick flooring, and the bodyguards had arranged everything inside.

The first tent, of course, was his and Bella’s alone. He didn’t even pretend to be subtle about that. If anyone tried to take Bella away from him at night, they would probably be buried somewhere in the forest by morning.

The second tent was for Scarlett and Zion. Leo still wasn’t sure if the two were officially together, but from the way Zion hovered around her like a quiet shadow, Leo already counted them as a couple. And that made him happy, because the more Scarlett paid attention to Zion, the less attention she stole from Bella.

Jay, surprisingly, hadn’t clung to Bella the entire day the way he usually did. Leo suspected it was because of Jace. Those two had been whispering to each other with strange blushes and stolen glances, but Leo wasn’t judging. If Jay really was... well, whatever he was becoming, Leo didn’t mind. At least he wasn’t fighting Leo for Bella’s affection anymore.

As for Jason, Dominique, and Casper, they knew better than to even joke about sleeping near Bella. They would rather sleep with hungry wolves.

Leo clasped his hands behind his back, expression cool as he issued sleeping arrangements like a general dividing troops before a battle. 𝐟𝐫𝕖𝗲𝘄𝚎𝗯𝕟𝐨𝕧𝐞𝚕.𝕔𝕠𝐦

"Casper, Jay, Jace, Dom, Jason. This is your tent," he said, pointing toward one of the massive presidential tents. "It has two rooms and a living area. Manage it among yourselves."

Jay instantly rushed forward, unzipping the first room with the excitement of a child opening a gift. "Me and Jace together," he declared, dragging the stunned Jace inside before anyone else could move.

Dominique, Jason, and Casper shrugged and claimed the second room, Casper humming happily as he tossed his backpack on the bed.

Scarlett, meanwhile, wrapped her arms around Bella from behind and swayed gently. "I’m sleeping with Bella," she announced proudly. "We’ll talk all night, like little fairies under the moon."

Bella giggled softly and leaned back against her friend. "I don’t mind..."

"No way," Leo said as he stepped between them. "You and Zion are staying together."

Scarlett blinked. "We’re not a couple."

Zion smiled, leaning one shoulder against the tent frame. "Not yet."

Scarlett’s cheeks turned warm, which made everyone stare.

"And Bella is married," Zion added, gently adjusting Scarlett’s jacket as if it were the most natural thing in the world. "She can’t just be taken away from her husband. That’s a crime. And anyway, it’s not like we haven’t slept together, Scar."

Scarlett’s face went red. "We didn’t do anything! We only—"

"We just slept in the same room," Zion finished calmly, clearly enjoying the reactions.

Jason, Dominique, and Jace shouted in perfect unison, "WHAT?"

Scarlett groaned and covered her face. "Not like that! We literally slept. Just slept. All of you have dirty minds."

Zion winked, completely unbothered. "Still counts."

Bella giggled softly into her hand, her shoulders shaking with amusement. And Leo, watching his wife smile like sunlight between trees, felt warmth bloom in his chest.

Yes.

This trip was already worth every minute of planning.

Scarlett, however, stood with her arms folded tightly across her chest, refusing to take even a single step toward the tent Zion pointed at. Her chin was raised, her stance stubborn, and the air around her practically screamed I am not moving. Zion simply watched her, a small amused smile tugging at the corner of his lips, as if her resistance wasn’t resistance at all, just something cute he planned to melt slowly.

Then, without a word, he reached into his duffel bag.

Scarlett’s eyes flicked toward him despite herself.

First, he pulled out a small packet of her favorite tamarind candy balls, dusted with sugar, the exact ones she would fight people for. He held them casually between two fingers, tempting and effortless, as if he wasn’t even trying.

Scarlett’s confident expression wavered. Just a little. But everyone saw it.

Then Zion pulled out the real weapon.

A soft, cloud-shaped plush pillow, pastel blue with tiny embroidered stars, so fluffy it looked like it had fallen out of a dream. Scarlett froze. She collected pillows the way dragons collected treasure. Different sizes, colors, textures. She guarded them like priceless jewels. Everyone who knew her also knew one thing:

Scarlett and pillows were inseparable.

Zion tilted his head slightly and offered it to her with a quiet murmur. "If you stay with me, you can have this."

Scarlett’s tough facade shattered instantly. Her eyes grew huge, glittering with temptation. She looked like a cat being offered her favorite treat.

Bella gasped softly, covering her mouth.

Dom and Jason stared at each other in shock. "He knows Scar that well?"

Even Jace blinked hard, unable to process what he was seeing.

"Woah..." Bella whispered.

Scarlett’s resolve collapsed completely. "G... give me the pillow..." she whispered.

Zion stepped closer, lowering his voice. "Then come with me."

Scarlett nodded so fast her hair bounced. She grabbed the pillow like it was the love of her life and let Zion guide her toward their tent with the obedience of a kitten following a toy.

Dominique watched them leave, stunned. "Scarlett? The same Scarlett who said no man can control her?"

Jason exhaled dramatically. "He didn’t control her. He summoned her soul with a pillow."

Dominique shook his head slowly. "I feel like I just witnessed black magic."

Jace whispered, "That man is dangerous."

Bella, still amazed, murmured, "So smooth..."

Leo finally lost patience. He wanted to spend time with his bunny, not watch everyone else’s romance. His hand wrapped around her wrist, firm and confident but still careful, and he tugged her toward him.

"Enough now," he said in that low, irritated voice that always gave him away. "We’re going to our tent."

Bella gasped softly as she stumbled forward, her tiny hand swallowed in his bigger one. Behind them, her friends burst into laughter, watching their fierce mafia king drag his wife as if she weighed nothing more than a feather.

"Bye, bunny!" Jason shouted teasingly.

"Don’t bully her, Leo!" Scarlett shouted from inside her tent, her face half-buried in her new pillow.

Leo didn’t bother looking back. He would deal with them later.

He simply kept pulling Bella along, his strides long and deliberate, as if terrified she might disappear again if he loosened his grip.

Bella followed, huffing softly but secretly smiling.
