The annual business night award was held at the event hall in Lupia Hotel, the second biggest hotel in Rosehill City after Gardenia.

Zachary and Eliana arrived one hour after the event and sat in the seat reserved for them.

Jason, who sighted Eliana the moment she walked him, frowned when he saw her flushed cheeks and looked away; he didn’t even want to imagine what had kept them late.

Cecilia noticed her son’s gaze and whispered to him, "Get over it already; it’s already so obvious that the girl will never be yours."

"Not tonight, Mom," Jason replied to his mother without even sparing her a look.

The award ceremony kicked off after fifteen minutes of Zach and Eliana’s entry, and it was not surprising when Zach won the best businessman for the year.

Eliana stood up and clapped for him with a proud look on her face.

The award ceremony took over thirty minutes, with Zach winning up to five awards, David Lennox winning two, and other companies winning one each.

Henry clenched his fist under the table and felt ashamed because not once was his name even called. It was as if he was no longer important in the business world and no one was even regarding him. Was he invited to be disgraced by these people?

Amber, on the other hand, had her eyes focused on Eliana and Zach, who were talking and smiling, and she wondered how could they both be happy even after losing their baby. Could this be a facade for the public?

"Are you that happy that I won five awards?" Zachary asked Eliana who was looking at his awards with a sparkle in her eyes.

Eliana nodded without looking at him and said, "I would like to frame all of them and display them as mine."

Zach chuckled, saying, "Well, what is mine is yours, so go ahead."

Eliana turned to look at him and asked, "Is that so?"

"You don’t believe me?"

"The pin to your black card?" Eliana asked with a daring smile.

"The day we first met," Zachary replied with a smile.

Eliana was a little bit surprised when she heard his pin; she then smirked and said, "Prepare yourself for multiple debit alerts."

Zachary laughed and said, "As long as it makes you happy."

Eliana scoffed and looked away as her heart began to race as a result of his charming smile and words.

Later on, Zachary gave his awards to Ethan to keep for him, and other businessmen finally gathered their courage to come speak to him once it was time for them to mingle.

"I will go get a drink," Eliana said as she left Zach’s side to go to the minibar at the side of the party.

Eliana smiled at the bartender and said "Vodka, make it strong."

It didn’t take long for the bartender to give her a drink, which she gulped down in one go and hissed harshly.

"Aren’t you pregnant?"

Eliana turned when she heard her father’s voice and looked back at the bartender, saying, "Another one."

"I asked you a question, Eliana?" Henry asked angrily.

Eliana laughed and looked at him as she asked, "Not tonight, Dad. Please, I want no drama tonight. Are you seriously going to pretend that you weren’t aware that I lost the child, didn’t Sloane complain to you that when she came to see me at the hospital, I had beaten her up."

"Hold on!" Henry’s eyes widened in realization as he asked, "Were you the one who did that to her face? She told me she was robbed." 𝘧𝓇ℯ𝑒𝓌𝑒𝑏𝓃𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘭.𝒸ℴ𝓂

"Sloane never told you that I had lost my child and was in the hospital?" Eliana asked with a frown.

Henry shook his head and said, "She never did."

Eliana just nodded and gulped down her second glass of drink.

"You want another one?" The bartender asked, he felt sorry for her when he heard her saying she had lost her child.

Eliana shook her head and said, "I don’t plan on getting drunk tonight, but thank you."

Henry saw the way she was ignoring him, and he suddenly felt angry, but he knew he couldn’t lose control there, so he took in a deep breath to calm down and said: "I’m sorry for your loss, but...."

"No, but. If you truly wanted to know anything about me then you would have found out. You are a sorry excuse of a father and, as it seems, a businessman as well."

"Eliana!"

All eyes turned to the duo when they heard Henry shout, and seeing all eyes on him made him realize his mistake.

Sloane sighed as she wondered how she was going to handle things when she heard Amber’s voice

"Are you aggravating Father again, Eliana?" Amber asked as she walked to stand beside her father.

Eliana scoffed and said loudly "If it isn’t the latest slut in the city."

"Excuse me?"

"You are excused."

"Is that the way you speak to your sister? What has come over you?" Henry asked in disbelief.

"I find it funny that you called Amber a slut, especially because we all knew who was sleeping with her fiance behind her back," Sloane said as walked gracefully to her husband and daughter.

Amber regained her composure, seeing that both her father and mother were on her side, and asked, "Do you think you are better than us just because you are married to Zach? You left our family when we needed you the most, and then you stole my fiance, got pregnant for him, and now that you have lost the child, you wish to blame us for a misfortune you brought upon yourself."

Eliana burst into laughter, and Amber frowned, wondering what was so funny.

"I’m sorry for laughing, it’s just that I couldn’t hold it in. But I find it so funny that the daughter of a maid has the right to speak such nonsense before me. Don’t forget your place, Amber; I find it so irritating whenever you act as if the benefits you enjoy aren’t because of your pathetic mother who exchanged us at birth."

"What nonsense are you talking about?!" Amber screamed, hoping that would stop Eliana from speaking, but it did nothing.

"You say I stole your fiance? But how could I when he has always been mine? The biological daughter was the one promised to the Sanders family and that is me. You took my place, my parents, and my child!"
