HEIRESS REBORN: MARRYING HER EX-FIANCÉ-Chapter 95: Meeting her long-life nemesis (1)
’’President Kingston?’’
’’Omg, it is her!’’
’’I didn’t expect to meet her.’’
’’Are we going to be okay?’’
’’Is Eve in trouble?’’
Murmurs rippled around the small group of Eve’s friends. Their surprised eyes were now focused on the stiffened Ayana whose face slightly drained of its colors.
Evelyn, on the other hand, sensed the oddity. But, before she could voice out her concerns, Ayana forcefully steadied on her on her feet and pushed forward without looking back. Noah trailed right after her, his expression unreadable.
’’It seems President Kingston doesn’t like being touched.’’
’’I assumed she would hold them accountable.’’
’’That young lady is quite lucky.’’
’’The Young master Bruno as well.’’
’’It’s the young lady’s fault for not watching her steps.’’
’’I think I recognize her as an actress.’’
’’An actress? I guess that explains everything.’’
’’Their type is the manner less ones in this banquet, after all.’’
’’First young miss Kingston is truly kind to invite them.’’
’’Indeed.’’
The voices of the guests were not small murmurs and chatters. Their words were audible and one of Evelyn’s friend could not tolerate them any longer.
’’You....’’
’’Bebe.’’ Another familiar friend of Evelyn who was Kate firmly blocked her hot-tempered friend, Bebe from making any rude retorts.
Even if they had made a lot of progress in their respective careers, it still did not change that they could not afford to offend any of the wealthy families in Actress Bella’s banquets.
Bebe held a sharp glare with Kate for a moment before averting her face with small tsk. As a veteran artist, she definitely understood hat ignorance was the best, but how could she still endure these self-centered insulting her one of her dear friends?
It was one of their own who almost caused incident if not for the President Kingston, yet they were shameless to still pour the blame of Evelyn!
Bebe understood that female artists, particularly actresses had a certain a reputation for being mistresses to married men among these wealthy families, but they should understand that all actresses were different from each other.
Even one of their own was a newly rising global actress.
’’Eve, are you alright?’’
’’Are you injured?’’
’’...No, I’m fine.’’ Evelyn assured the group with small smile. She had to admit. President Kingston really had good reflexes to have caught her in time.
Evelyn did not want to imagine what would have happened if she hadn’t been caught.
’I wonder why she seemed like that though...’ Evelyn’s mind reeled back to the expression she had seen on President Kingston.
A kind of distraught that obviously showed something went wrong. Perhaps in this birthday banquet too.
’Did something happen?’ She wondered, and then noticed the small glances her group of friends exchanged with each other while patiently waiting for her. The only exceptions were Kate and Bebe.
’’Is something wrong?" She inquired with a friendly smile.
’’N-No Eve....we...we just wanted to know if that lady who held you was truly President Kingston.’’ One of them asked albeit with a hint of nervousness in her tone.
’....Oh.’ Evelyn realized something as she stared at these women. Her eyes flashed as she replied to the question. Her smile became fainter.
’’Yes, that’s her.’’
’’T-Then....a-are we safe? You...You tripped on her....’’ The lady’s voice trembled in what one could recognize as fear. Even her eyes were the same.
For the entire entertainment industry, President kingston was like a god whom they should never offend no matter what.
Evelyn noticed as the lady fumbled with her fingers in obvious anxiety.
’’I’m sure President Kingston is not like what you imagined, Rona.’’ She reassured with a smile.
Her fear was understandable.
However....
’....Backstabbers.’ Evelyn inwardly cursed, still holding up her smile to the group.
When these women found out that she was going for the birthday banquet, they were very intent on following her with the goal of befriending Arabella for their own benefits.
Now that she made a slight mistake, with the President Kingston at that, even if it was not her own fault, they were planning to abandon her without cause.
If they were not backstabbers, what else could they be called?
’’But....’’
’’You ladies should not worried. President Kingston surely would not blame me for something that was not my fault.’’ Evelyn swiftly turned away from them, lest her contempt would show on her face.
’’We should hurry and say hello to Actress Bella.’’ She glanced over shoulder, and as expected, their sense of fear was momentarily pushed aside.
Evelyn inwardly sneered at their quick change.
Anyway, these ladies wouldn’t bother to stick with her once they achieved their goals.
’Also...’ She almost chuckled aloud, continuing on her way through the crowd with the group. Evelyn could already imagine what would happen between these ladies and Arabella.
Did they honestly think Arabella was one to be easily befriended?
In the past, she had to be very patient in dealing with someone like Arabella to achieve what their relationship was like at the present.
The only reason she allowed these ladies to be with her was to boost her reputation as the kind and angelic Evelyn. After all, these were the same women who would tarnish her name with all kinds of names.

’’Are you alright?’’
Ayana glanced at Noah who spoke up in the moving vehicle. His gaze peered into hers with no intention of backing down.
Did he notice something?
Ayana silently wondered as she swerved her eyes back to the scenery outside the window.
’’Why do you ask?’’
’’Don’t play dumb with me, Ayana.’’ Noah snorted lightly at her feigned ignorance. ’’You seemed weird with that guy and Young miss Hitson.’’
’’I’ve watched you grow and there’s definitely between you and them.’’ He continued, looking at the side of her face. ’’Call me out if I’m wrong, but you would have ignored that lady as the Ayana Kingston I know.’’
’’...’’
’’People as silly as her are the type you ignore without hesitation.’’ Noah remarked. ’’If there’s no benefit in engaging with them, you would have overlooked her rudeness, yet you engaged with her for quite a while, Ayana.’’
’’...’’
’’That Liam guy also, you said you’ve always ignored him, but from my observation you seem to hold resentment for him, Ayana.’’
’’...’’
’’You don’t see yourself, but I see you, as well as others.’’ Noah paused for a moment before continuing. ’’Your eyes...they changed when you stared at him....almost like you couldn’t wait to kill him.’’ He voiced his observation from the banquet hall at that very moment.
’’....’’
He lowered his gaze briefly to the tightened fists on Ayana’s lap. It seemed his words were accurate for her to react like this, even if she wasn’t aware.
’’That woman you caught from falling is also another.’’ Noah pointed out. ’’I know that you hate strangers touching you, but you held the same eyes for that woman. In fact, you did not seem to hide your resentment for her.’’
