Heavenly Rebellion: The Human Race's Rise to Prominence-Chapter 34: Back to the Forest
Chapter 34: Back to the Forest
Feng had been here for a few days now, and he still couldn't figure out how to start projecting the Alpha Wolf's Domain.
It should have been the easiest, from what he understood of the system.
Supposedly, he needed to learn the basics of the Alpha Wolf's Domain first—creating a suppressive aura—before moving on to the offensive techniques to make them stronger.
But since he couldn't get it right, he'd had to skip a few steps.
He thought back to when he first began trying to learn the Blackwood Dominance Art.
At the time, he'd assumed it would be the easiest part—he just needed to act like a really scary wolf, right?
How hard could that be?
Clearly, Feng had been wrong on that front. He literally couldn't figure it out.

Every time he stared at the Blackwood Ruler, it seemed to unconsciously release a suppressive aura.
Before he'd learned about the Blackwood Dominance Art, he'd thought it was just a normal phenomenon, considering the power of such a spiritual beast.
But clearly, that wasn't the case—or at least, not entirely.
Part of the reason it emitted such a dreadful aura was because of its innate cultivation technique.
Feng even tried asking the system for tips, but the response he got was more than disappointing:
[The system cannot assist the host in matters of personal enlightenment.]
"Damn, so you actually aren't as much of a cheat code as I thought," Feng muttered to himself, shaking his head.
"Well, whatever. Today, I'm going to put my all into this and focus on at least getting the basics of the Alpha Wolf's Domain.
First, I need to understand what dominance really is. Is it fear? Overwhelming strength? Or suppression?"
As Feng thought about the concept of dominance, he began to imagine what life had been like for the Blackwood Alpha Wolf before he killed it.
He tried to recall what the pack structure had looked like, and quickly started to notice something: the Blackwood Alpha Wolf was always at the front, and it was the strongest.
Did that mean that if you're the strongest in a pack, you automatically become the Alpha?
Regardless, what did it truly mean to be the "Alpha" of a pack in the first place?
Were you responsible for the lives of your pack?
Could you be deposed if you weren't strong enough anymore?
Could one of the other wolves replace you?
Feng was confused by the whole thing. He also felt like he was overcomplicating it.
his thoughts spiraled in circles, he started to wonder if the Blackwood Ruler could give him some tips on cultivation.
Unfortunately, the Blackwood Ruler wasn't around that day, so Feng couldn't ask for any guidance.
But even if the ruler had been there, Feng doubted he would have figured it out.
The reason was simple: the Blackwood Dominance Art was primarily a cultivation technique used by Blackwood Alpha Wolves, tailored specifically for spiritual beasts.
Even though Feng could learn the technique because his Heaven's Pact was with a mutated Blackwood Alpha Wolf, he wasn't a wolf himself.
He had to adapt it to suit a human body.
"Damn it, how the hell am I supposed to do this?" Feng grumbled, his frustration mounting.
What bothered him the most was knowing that if he figured this out, it would boost his combat prowess by at least one or two levels.
"Hey, system, are you sure you don't have any tips for me?" Feng asked, hoping for some guidance.
[Maybe it would benefit the host if he observed the societal structures of other spiritual beasts in the Blackwood Forest.]
Feng paused for a moment, considering the suggestion.
"Hmm, that's actually a pretty decent idea.
I could observe how other 'Alphas' of the spiritual beasts lead their respective packs.
If I can't figure it out from watching the Blackwood Ruler, maybe I can find some inspiration from the others," he thought to himself.
So, for the first time in a few days, Feng decided to leave the Ruler's territory and return to the Blackwood Forest.
His goal was to find pack-type spiritual beasts and observe their leaders.
Perhaps by understanding how these beasts led their companions, he could gain insight into what it truly meant to be an "Alpha."
"Although, I wonder how many pack-type spiritual beasts there are in the Blackwood Forest? There can't be too many, right?" Feng suddenly grew concerned.
As he considered how much time he'd already spent here, anxiety began to creep in.
"Now that I've reached the first level of the Blackwood Ruler Physique, I can at least hold back people at the seventh level of qi condensation, once I get the hang of the Alpha Wolf's Domain from the Blackwood Dominance Art, I'll probably be able to leave the Blackwood Forest and head toward Brightshore City."
Feng tried to look at his claws make it pop out of his fingernails, I can also probably take this time to get used to my new strength and abilities, the best way to temper oneself is through actual combat, If I just keep practicing on rocks all the time, once I face an actual cultivator I'm probably going to die instantly"
The thought of Brightshore City excited Feng.
"I can finally meet people from different places, and find a place where no one knows I used to be a broken soul, I can live freely and become stronger."
But feng suddenly had a thought pass through his head
"I wonder what I can do to repay the favor given to me by the Blackwood Ruler?"
Feng shook his head, right now he was way too weak to be thinking about those kinds of things, he knew that if he became more powerful then he could think of repaying his debts but right now it was just a bunch of wistful thinking
And so Feng stood up and started packing up his supplies for his excursion into the Blackwood Forest, before he left, Feng left a message on the walls of the cave where the Blackwood Ruler usually resided in
"Senior, I'm going into the forest for some personal training, I will be back soon"
