He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 543. Alchemy ranking battle 1
Several combat ranking battles occurred. After this, the combat ranking battles came to an end.
Those who performed outstandingly and claimed higher rankings for themselves gained outstanding mentors with respect to their rankings for themselves. These mentors would guide them on applications of their law usage.
However, many were puzzled that no mentor selected Kailen Darkhaven, despite his ridiculous performance and the fact that he had a special law.
Some students heard the mentors whispering among themselves that the young man had a very high mastery of the law of space, so much so that there was nothing any mentor could teach him, and that it would be a waste of his time and the time of the mentors. This was not some cliche statement. The mentors simply felt that way. They were powerhouses, and they had their pride. All the more reason why they didn’t see the need to waste a student’s time when they could not teach him anything.
This was the first time something like this, though, had occurred in the academy. That, a student would be so outstanding with law usage, especially with one of the special laws, extremely profound to master, that even mentors would admit that they would not be able to teach him anything if they wanted to mentor him.
Several students sighed. Special enrollment students were all abnormal, but this fellow was simply something else entirely.
Of course, even if Kailen didn’t have an extremely high mastery over the law of space, no mentor would want to go against the orders of the principle and vice principle by trying to mentor him.
After the combat ranking battles ended, the secondary Carrier ranking battles began.
The rules were the same compared to the previous.
Higher ranked students for each of the professions in the secondary Carrier societies could not challenge lower ranked students. However, lower ranked students could challenge higher ranked students.
" This is just like that dwarf told me," Kailen said as he watched the matches. It was not yet his turn to challenge someone.
The secondary Carrier ranking battles were ruthless. During one alchemy competition, for instance, each of the alchemists were launching serious spiritual attacks against one another as they were making alchemical products.
In the end, one lost concentration completely and ruined the refining process. The other person won.
During a runesmith competition, two were inscribing runes on artifacts, to turn the artifacts into rune-inscribed artifacts. The two were launching runic attacks towards one another consecutively during the process. They both managed to complete the process, despite the attacks they launched towards one another. However, one had to naturally win and the other had to naturally lose.
There were also instances where some students died from the attacks of other students during the competition. The ones who died naturally lost. Their opponents who remained alive went ahead to complete their tasks and naturally won the battle.
The academy was really ruthless.
Finally, it was Kailen’s turn to participate in his ranking battle.
Naturally, some secondary Carrier society students paid attention to him even before the combat ranking battles, thanks to the video of what had happened recently at one of the alchemy society registration halls.
Many were curious about this fellow. Rumors were that he had a purity level of 99 percent in alchemy. As for his rune skill proficiency, many were curious to know.
Naturally, a large number of secondary Carrier students did not know him as a secondary Carrier student. The academy was extremely large, after all, and a single student was not a pop icon everyone would know about overnight.
Had it not been for his demonstration of the law of space in the combat ranking battles, they wouldn’t have even heard of him before.
"Is that the student with the law of space?"
" Oh, he’s a secondary Carrier student too?"
" Yeah. Didn’t you know?"
" Wow. But I don’t think he will be that remarkable in that aspect."
"Heh. You probably haven’t seen the video, have you?"
" What video?"
" Well, he did something chilling at one of the alchemy society registration halls a few weeks ago.
It’s on some academy forums. You can watch it when you are free."
"This makes me all the more curious about this fellow."
"He’s actually a Black Flask Alchemist."
" Wow... interesting. I suppose I could place some bets on him and see how it goes."
"And a runesmith too."
"Hmmm... let’s see how his alchemy ranking battle goes first before I decide whether to place a bet on him or not."
"If it’s possible, I can force him to join my gang if he has potential. After all, despite having the law of space, he’s still weak."
" Indeed. It’s easier to conquer him now and make him sign a rune oath to become a lackey. This fellow, I suspect he has serious cultivation speed. If I wait, it will be too late to tame him. After his ranking battle, I’m targeting him. If he turns out to be a monstrous alchemist, he will make a lot of money for my gang, and his capabilities as a space law awakener will improve the fighting prowess of the gang"
" I’m thinking of the same thing too"
" Have you forgotten that during the ranking battles, every other place is a restricted zone, apart from the arena?"
" Damn. Tsk. I suppose I will have to wait till all the ranking battles are over before I strike." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
" Not so fast. I called dibs on him first."
Naturally, Kailen knew the ominous thoughts about him. Their emotional expressions, even subtle ones, gave it away. Also, it was not like they were silent about it.
" I really need to grow stronger," a glint of coldness flashed through his eyes.
"The moment the ranking battles are over, I will create a tear in space and disappear directly to the cultivation mountain."
Kailen inwardly sighed again.
" Why do I even have to participate in these ranking battles? I don’t need a mentor, and even the mentors are saying I don’t need mentorship, so what’s the point in participating? Never mind. It’s not like I can do anything about academy rules. If mentors decide not to mentor me, that’s their decision. However, the ranking battles are compulsory, and the academy cannot bend its nature or rules just because of me.
Let’s just get this over with."
Kailen stood in the arena, waiting for the higher ranked student he had decided to challenge to appear.
