He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 544. Alchemy ranking battle 2
Kailen and the rank 4 alchemist, the higher ranked student he had challenged, stood in the large arena.
The other student simply nodded at Kailen and got to work.
" Classic manipulation tactic," Kailen chuckled inwardly.
This bastard wanted him to think he won’t attempt attacking him so that Kailen lets his guard down. He was acting friendly to Kailen for that reason.
The eyes of the student Kailen had challenged, Vex, flickered with cold light.
A cauldron appeared before him immediately.
" This fellow is a space law user. He’s a rank 3 beginner stage Dao level lifeform. That means if he uses the power of laws, he might be able to kill me, even though I’m at the sixth rank of the beginner stage Dao level. That means using a law attack against him not possible," Vex sighed.
"What a hassle. Fortunately for me, he does not have a spiritual attack repelling artifact. It’s a good thing I brought one, so he can’t launch a spiritual attack against me.
His purity level is 99 percent. If I did not watch that video on the academy forums, I wouldn’t have believed it. The only way to win this ranking battle is to kill him as soon as possible. I can’t become the last ranked student and lose my mentor. Also, who knows what dangerous poisonous attack he may be plotting. He’s a fucking Black Flask Alchemist after all."
Vex made his decision as soon as possible.
He quickly used his alchemical flame to heat the cauldron floating before him under the influence of his spiritual power.
Then, he started refining the alchemical product with finesse. At the moment, Kailen Darkhaven also started.
Many eyes widened.
" He’s not using a cauldron?"
" Only those extremely monstrous alchemists can perform feats like that."
" How many years has he been an alchemist?"
" Look at how he’s regulating the ingredients in the Alchemical flame. Excellent control. It’s like watching those veterans work."
Kailen was making just a simple alchemical product, a cellular regeneration pill, a pill that would enhance cellular regeneration in case one is wounded. It was nothing fancy.
" It seems that student, Vex, is bound to lose if he does not make a move against Darkhaven," several thought.
Vex knew it was time to make a move.
Quickly, he launched a spiritual attack against Kailen Darkhaven.
However, the moment his spiritual attack seemed to enter Kailen’s consciousness, he felt as if he had hit a wall. The attack could not penetrate.
There was a reason why Kailen did not have a spiritual artifact repelling artifact on him. There was one thing he had studied about the Time Dilation Artifact. She was ruthless. It was to a point where she would even allow Kailen to die in simulations and real world events, if he was unfortunate to meet his end. She would never interfere.
However, when it came to someone launching spiritual attacks against Kailen, she would not allow it to happen.
Kailen knew that from her personality, it was because she was bound to Kailen’s consciousness and deemed spiritual attacks as some sort of disturbance to her peace of mind.
Kailen gave Vex a sidelong, casual glance.
Oh, so Vex probably launched a spiritual attack on Kailen Darkhaven, and for some mysterious reason, the attack didn’t work on Kailen Darkhaven, who did not have a spiritual attack repelling artifact on him? Many thought.
How? How did the attack not work? He was clearly not wearing a spiritual attack repelling artifact. So how was this possible? Vex thought.
When Vex looked into Kailen’s eyes, he felt like he had fallen into an abyss.
Suddenly, Kailen’s eyes returned to his task. He was still making his alchemical product.
However, something entirely chilling happened.
An ethereal, void like majestic feel shrouded the arena.
Vex’ eyes widened in terror. He could not move. He could not use the law of wind. It was as if space was compressing around him.
Then, he felt the cells of his body being pressed together by something. It was not gravity. It was as if space itself was crushing his cells into one another, folding them like a person would fold a piece of paper. The mechanism spread outwards, crushing every part of his being. The sounds of bones cracking reverberated in the arena. His figure seemed to bend inwards at grotesque angles. The void around him was crushing him into himself. Shrill screams emerged.
Very soon, Vex had turned into some sort of floating meatball. He was dead. Kailen’s use of the law of space retracted. The dead body of Vex fell on the ground in his meatball form. Blood could be seen oozing from the meatball. The sight was very chilling.
Darkhaven was calm, casual. He was still refining his alchemical product. It was as if the sudden menace he had just orchestrated on his opponent had nothing to do with him.
Many sucked in breaths of cold air. Ruthlessness was a daily occurrence in the academy. But this fellow had a different vibe when he was ruthless. It was as if he was meant to thrive in a chaotic environment. He was a natural predator.
" Finally, done," Kailen suddenly muttered. He was done crafting the alchemical product.
The appraisal artifact hovering above the arena detected his product. The artifact quickly scanned the alchemical product.
[ Rank 4 cellular regeneration pill. Made by Black Flask Alchemist Kailen Darkhaven. Purity level 99.99 percent ]
The announcement made the whole stadium silent. What had they just heard?
Multitudes of eyes were on one particular person.
Kailen Darkhaven. He stood calm, casual, non chalent. As if this impossible outcome was meant to be within his expectations.
The silence was extremely stiffling. Absolute shock. From mentors to students.
Even several ranking battles happening at different arenas seemed to suddenly stop. This was not a conscious decision to halt their battles. It was a subconscious reaction to what they had just heard. A purity level of 99.99 percent.
Was this even possible in the universe?
Who the hell was this guy?
