Chapter 510: Chapter 510.Desire

The moment Kailen spoke, Octavious and Elyria couldn’t believe what they had just heard.

Was it some sort of hallucination?

Had they heard wrong?

Was their nightmare of not being able to have a connection to their grandson coming to an end?

Was he really giving them a chance to be part of his life?

To be part of the family he had around him?

"You guys should just stand up, mum and dad," Lawrence chuckled lightly. His gaze turned to Kailen. He nodded towards Kailen with a thank you gesture.

Kailen simply smiled lightly and nodded warmly to him.

Lawrence knew Kailen had given his parents a chance to be part of his life after personal considerations, not because of him, Lawrence. But he still thanked Kailen for doing it anyway.

"That kid is not gonna repeat it twice," Lawrence said as he tapped the shoulders of his parents, still kneeling on the ground with their heads bowed.

"Is he really..." the duo muttered.

"If you want your heads to swell up from kissing the ground, you can keep bowing," Lawrence chuckled.

His words managed to lighten the atmosphere as various chuckles spread across the place.

The emperor and empress rose to their feet.

With all pairs of eyes on them, Kailen’s included, they stared at Kailen with looks of relief and warmth.

They didn’t approach Kailen to hug him.

They just stood at the same spot where they previously bowed.

Kailen could see the expressions of genuine affection and warmth from them. This kind of parental gaze. It reminded him so much of how his parents used to look at him.

"Thank you, grandson. We will do our best to make it up to you for all the mistakes we have made, and to you too, son, we are very sorry."

Kailen simply nodded with a warm smile.

That was all the consolation they needed.

They knew that although their grandson had now welcomed them into his life, it would take some time for them to get used to each other. Relationships developed naturally with time after all. They were not expecting him to be all casual with them all of a sudden.

Lawrence waved his hand casually.

"No need for further apologies. I’m sure sister is smiling now from the afterlife, seeing us all together like this, although I never imagined this outcome."

His parents nodded in thanks.

Arrie drew nearer to Kailen. She kissed him and hugged him.

"I’m so proud of you."

"Heh, where’s that coming from?"

"Guess?"

"Heh."

Suddenly, murmurs were directed their way, and "ominous" pairs of eyes flew their way.

"Ahem... look at them. These guys make the rest of us look like we are single."

"To think they’d be this intimate before the emperor and empress. How shameless."

"Youngsters these days are so vibrant."

Kailen and Arrie "....."

The emperor and empress couldn’t help but chuckle at the teasing banter directed towards their grandson and their granddaughter-in-law.

Kailen had really gotten himself great friends.

Anyway, it was time to get to business. The war did not wait for anyone.

"If it were possible, we would have thrown a banquet to celebrate this reunion with Kailen and also towards meeting everyone. However, I’m afraid under the current situation..."

Kailen replied, "No need for that, grandpa. It’s understandable."

The Emperor nodded.

His wife added, "Alright, since time is not on our side, it’s time for those of us heading to the Sacred Sea Secret Sect to set off."

The group that would not be training with Kailen at the low tier civilisation headquarters of the Universe Alliance joined the Empress.

There were no emotional goodbyes. Just simple goodbyes.

They could communicate in the virtual universe if they had time after all.

The journey of those headed to the Sacred Sea Secret Sect would be long.

They would travel extremely long distances across the starry sea to the Sacred Sea Secret Sect.

Elyria had personal guards from the sect guarding her in secret, alongside the guards from the crown.

Even with the personal guards from the sect guiding them there through shortcuts, and making use of teleportation gates across various space stations in the starry sea, it would take about a month for them to arrive.

The earlier they left, the better.

At this moment, Kailen and company were also in a spaceship sent to pick them up to the low tier civilisation headquarters of the Universe Alliance.

The envoys from the low tier civilisation headquarters of the Universe Alliance were all at the supreme stage galactic level. It seemed the safety of Kailen was extremely important to them.

It was understandable because of his potential.

Kailen was not surprised by this gesture. In fact, he welcomed it.

At this point, they needed all the protection they could have. The vimodial contractors were unpredictable.

Initially, Octavius had lined up several powerful guards who personally guarded him. He wanted to escort them there himself, with his personal guards joining. He was concerned about their safety.

Kailen and Lawrence managed to convince him that the group would be fine.

It was only when he saw the envoys that he backed down.

Finally, the group set off.

The low tier civilisation headquarters of the Universe Alliance was located on an extremely isolated galaxy.

This galaxy was like an island, sitting away from the low tier civilisations in the starry sea in the low tier civilisation.

Currently, Kailen, Arrie, Charles, Micheal Borngreat, Arnold, Zarek, Everlong, Esimo, Angela, Lee, Pan, Donalds, Lawrence, Lian Yu, Miranda, Anaya, Kim, Reynolds, Helena, Jackson, Cyco, Nuel, Ethan, Bianca were headed towards the headquarters in the spaceship.

The Universe Alliance had sent them an extremely powerful spaceship.

Due to this, they would arrive at the headquarters in just three weeks instead of three months.

"I can’t believe we lost the members of the Atrexia and Sword Tribunal Society," Lian Yu said.

"This war has been really brutal," Zarek said.

"Atlantis was really some disaster," Everlong added.

"Indeed. Not even a single person among them survived," Ethan sighed.

"Rebuilding the Sword Tribunal Sect... goodbye to that," Kailen said, gaze distant.

He planned on rebuilding the Sword Tribunal Sect with the members of the Sword Tribunal Society.

As for the Atrexia Society members, although most of them would have joined the Atrexia family after they served their time in the military, they would have still been allies of the Sword Tribunal Sect.

But now that the members of the two societies who had joined different units in the military had perished in Atlantis, and there was no time to do that anymore, what was the point?

It was not like rebuilding the Sword Tribunal Sect was his father’s dying wish.

He only wanted to do it to honor him and, if possible, use the Sword Tribunal Sect as a thorn in the sides of the vimodial contractors in the low tier civilisations, even when he went to the mid tier civilisations.

But Kailen had decided it was no longer necessary.

He would rather focus on becoming absolutely strong.

No need to focus needlessly on rebuilding a sect.

"I honestly don’t care about rebuilding the Sword Tribunal Sect anymore," Lian Yu said."Right now, all that matters is protecting what we have, and strength is required to do that."

Everything that had happened so far had led to his current state of mind.

He just did not want to lose anyone close to him anymore.

And for that, he needed to be strong.

As long as he was strong enough, he would not lose anyone anymore like he lost them.

Everyone else nodded.

As long as they were strong enough, they would be able to protect themselves and their loved ones.

This training, they would give their all to it.

Determination flickered through their eyes.

The incidents of Atlantis had replayed themselves in the minds of several of them over and over again.

The enemy had slaughtered empire troops like chicken.

They didn’t want their loved ones or themselves to end up like that.

They would grow strong enough to crush the enemy.

Arnold sighed deeply.

Had he been strong enough, his father would not have died.

The enemy would be swarms of flies he, Arnold, would have just reduced to dust in mere moments.

Nothing was more pitiful than watching someone you loved die a pitiful death without being able to do anything to save them.

He was not self-pitying himself, or blaming himself for his father’s death.

He was just facing the truth.

In this world, one could not afford to be weak.

The section of the spaceship where the group was currently gathered enjoying a meal was now completely silent.

No one was in the mood to eat anymore.

Instead, their eyes blazed with a desire to be overwhelmingly strong. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

They couldn’t afford to be weak.

Kailen, at the moment, was calm.

But his desire to be overwhelmingly powerful had never been more stimulated. His desire was to stand at the peak of the universe, where no one could control his life. Where his loved ones won’t come to harm. And no one would stand in the way of that, not the vimodial contractors , not anyone.

As he was in his thoughts, the thought of someone flashed in his mind.

His grand uncle.

He could only hope the old man would survive.

The Shattered Sector had been experiencing skirmishes with the enemy again, after he managed to stabilize it.

He was currently caught in day-to-day conflict.

Kailen sighed.

Arrie caressed his hand softly, laying on his chest.

The spaceship drifted through the starry sea.

And where a meal was to be shared by friends, silence reigned.

Everyone was no longer in the mood to eat.

They had never been more desperate to be strong.
