The hall was completely slient,-each person trying to process what had just happened.

" He kidnapped their daughter " Cyrus said.

Shaking the glass containing red wine- he downed it , a bitter sweet sensation softly pricking his throat.

" That was unexpected , but it’s still in line with my plan" He mused- shocked at how things had played out,yet unperturbed.

" Of all the scenarios I imagined , this was not one of them" Samantha said.

" He’s just digging his own grave . It seems the Harkers will go after him without any reservations now. Perhaps I was wrong about him-at the end of the day,he’s impulsive,just like those youngsters"

Samantha chuckled " Well it works out in our favor. Not only are the Harkers humiliated, they are forced to get rid of him for us"

Cyrus couldn’t agree more " Mmm. Bastards probably thought they could slap us in the face by humiliating him in front of us"

With a mocking smile, he stared in the direction of Francisca , barking angrily at the powerhouses of the clan to search every nook and cranny of the capital for Kailen Darkhaven.

" How absurd" Cyrus voiced, his tone loud enough for Jane and everyone else in the hall to hear.

" Cyrus Darkhaven " Francisca seethed with rage,her voice cracky as flames literally flared in her eyes .

Samantha replied ,her voice full of mockery,not in the least threathened at the Harkers family head’s threat " Perfect example is what just happened to your daughter don’t you think?"

Under the gazes of the onlookers , who watched the whole drama unfold ,the Darkhavens retreated out of the hall.

Many wondered whether or not they were in on it with Kailen Darkhaven.

However knowing the former relationship between the young man’s parents and his uncle, they threw those thoughts away.

Everyone trailed out of the hall, carrying precise and exaggerated versions of the events that had transpired tonight.

It was obvious that ,this Kailen Darkhaven’s fame, would be further cemented in the capital in a few moments.

Pondering over Cyrus’ words , realisation dawned on Francisca .

"Sometimes I forget how sly that bastard is. The bastard was the one who leaked the information about Kailen Darkhaven. He wants to get rid of his nephew,whose talent is immeasurable-knowing full well that if the kid is allowed to grow, he will become a threat to him and his son.

Obviously, he’s aware that my daughter is a rank 1 alchemist. There’s no way I’d let go of the opportunity to get the special flame the kid posesses,knowing he doesn’t have the backing of the Darkhavens. Did he also anticipate that the kid will reject my offer?"

A man stood by his side ,not daring to speak.

This was her husband- the one everyone in the capital knew she had tamed like a lamb.

He would only express his thoughts when she asked.

"What do you think dear " She asked for his opinion.

Quickly he replied " Thank you for giving me the opportunity to speak my love. I totally agree with you on this one" He said ,the furthered hesitantly

"However I believe there’s more to this"

Francisca didn’t dilly dally " Speak your heart out "

The man proceeded " I think he anticipated his nephew will reject not just your offer , but that of every clan and influential party in the capital. That would offend them and they would try to get rid of Kailen for him . By doing this he’d have an insurance ,so that even if the unexpected had happened and the kid had accepted your offer, there’d have still been the target of the other influential parties on his back "

Francisca processed the words of her husband with understanding.

" You are right . Cyrus that sly bastard and his schemes" She cursed angrily - her spittle flying all over.

" But why would the kid do something like this? Does he have some insurance he’s relying on?.

I doubt even President Ha,with his influence can intervene with what Kailen Darkhaven has done. After all kidnapping my daughter is something that gives me every justifiable reason to get rid of him.

So why would the kid do something like this ?. What am I doing?"

Feeling a headache coming her way , she sighed

" This is not my forte. These schemes, strategies and trying to understand my enemies. My forte is to openly crush those who oppose me- as simple as that. I just need to find that kid,and get rid of him. What hurts me the most though,is that by getting rid of the kid, I’d be doing Cyrus a favor rather than doing him a disservice. If I keep him alive too-even under the stringest form of torture, my reputation will crumble. People will think I don’t value my daughter ,by keeping alive someone who not only humiliated my daughter in front of me,but kidnapped her and probably did who knows what to her.

My only choice is to kill him. How absurd.At least,I will get the alchemy flame for my daughter’s breakthrough. That will definitely give me an edge over the Darkhavens"

Her husband stood by the side ,listening to her with emotionless eyes.

Yet if one looked closely, they could see pain literally hiding in those eyes.
