" Seriously ,I need to stop drinking. This habit can only help me drown my sorrows temporarily. " Jackson Bloodfallen belched as he slumped into the sofa.

He threw the empty bottle of wine somewhere in the spaceship with a nonchalant expression on his face.

The glass of the bottle broke into smithereens and made a breaking sound.

Jackson Bloodfallen sighed .

" But can I? I failed my friend when he needed me the most " A complicated expression appeared on his face as he remembered a couple of memories from his past.

" Seriously Jackson get a grip. This is your chance to make it up to him" He said to himself "If you failed him , at least make it up to him by being there for his son "

A resolute expression appeared in his red eyes " I suppose I now have a reason to get serious with life .That was definitely not my last bottle of alcohol. However I suppose I could do away with binge drinking to drown myself in my sorrows"

He stared at himself and facepalmed.

" I also need to work on my personal hygiene.

A strange scene suddenly appeared.

Blobs of blood suddenly flickered to life.

The blobs of blood undulated ,defying gravity for a few moments before shooting towards Jackson Bloodfallen.

The moment the blobs of blood touched his figure, a red pulsing light flashed around his figure for a split second before dissapearing , revealing a crimson armor pulsing around his figure.

" It’s been a while I used my affinity or even trained. I’ve been slacking off for too long. I should have become a galactic lifeform by now . Could have even been a rank 3 alchemist by now . But , it’s not too late"

A mirror materialized from his space ring.

He stared at his reflection in the mirror and nodded in satisfaction. His chestnut hair still looked messy, his beared was also unshaven.

" Not bad. I should get rid of this itchy beard and adjust my hair a little .Then I will look like a bonefide handsome vampire "

Before the vampire could appreciate his looks further, a projection of the AI of the spaceship appeared before him and spoke .

Jackson replied.

" Do not land ,proceed to enter the atmosphere of the planet"

He could see the asteroids , and other celestial bodies as if he was literally floating through space.

The transparent feature of the spaceship as the name implied , would make the spaceship assume a transparent form,on the inside ,so anyone in the spaceship could see the outside of the spaceship literally as if they themselves are flying through space without being in any vehicle.

" He’s here" Kailen’s eyes narrowed. He was walking the beach with Arrie . Currently they were holding hands when he suddenly noticed the arrival of Jackson after the time dilation artifact told him to activate his elemental mirroring.

" He’s earlier than I expected" Arrie sighed . She seemed unwilling to let Kailen go. However she knew he had to.

" Tell others in the morning that I’ve left" He kissed Arrie’s forehead ,then hugged her.

" I’ll miss you" He spoke softly.

Arrie replied " I’ll miss you more. I’ll try my best to break through to the ascendant level by the time you are back. The gap between us keeps getting wider and wider. I can’t stand by your side if I’m weak"

Kailen nodded respectfully to her and flew towards the sky.

This time ,he flew without the aid of any shadow creature or shadow armor.

His pale white and slender yet athletic figure was clad in a black hooded long coat ,with jeans and white sneakers .

The long coat fluttered in the wind as his smooth black hair, danced wildly.

Arrie stared at her man turn into a streak of light as she muttered

" I’ll wait for you "

Myriad of emotions flooded Kailen’s heart .

For the first time, he was leaving earth to travel the universe.

There was a time where he felt like this was a distant dream .

Yet, it had come earlier than he had ever anticipated.

And to think that alongside primarily leaving the planet to grow stronger to protect himself and his loved ones, he’d be doing something he would have never thought off , doing this for the sake of protecting a planet he once despised in the past.

The weight of millions of people rested on his shoulder. How funny. A self centered , ruthless individual, yet ,he had come to accept that a responsibility he once never thought he would accept .

Kailen sighed, shaking these thoughts to the back of his mind.

Trees grew smaller in size, oceans and mountains became like canvases sprawled on a map.

" Come out " A number of shadow creatures, all at the rank 2 beginner stage ascendant level appeared before Kailen.

" You know what to do"

The shadows creatures nodded, turned into streaks of light and bolted towards the earth.

They were to secretely protect Kailen’s love ones.

These ones would also serve as his eyes and ears on earth.

With his tenebrous requiem skill ,he would be able to know what was happening around them.

With his Umbral replacement skill, he would be able to switch places with any of his shadow creatures and appear on earth at any time if there was an emergency that required his immediate presence.

With his normal eyesight , Kailen finally spotted the space ship hovering at the outer edge of the planet’s atmosphere.

" He looks different. His ice, the look in it is no longer lifeless"

Kailen noted.

" It seems you broke through to the ascendant level"

Jackson voiced with a pleased expression as he floated towards Kailen.

" You look different "

Jackson spoke.

" You don’t look like the drunkard I met yourself "

Jackson chuckled at Kailen’s words.

" I suppose you could say I made a few adjustments to my priorities . Come,let’s get inside and talk . There’s a lot to discuss"
